ANSWER: After several power failures and shutdowns which left riders in an uncomfortable seated postion on the vertical lift, and after realizing that the evacuation process from the lift was less than ideal, it was decided that modifications to the ride were needed. The lift had to be reconfigured and expanded so that its 90 degree angle would be changed to a 45 degree incline. Rather than invest funds to disassemble the tower, pour new footings, and re-erect it at Great Adventure, it was decided that it would be more cost effective to rotate the ride and totally reinstall it at another park. The ride reopened at AstroWorld in 1990 with the new inclined lift hill.
