GAcoaster
Our wish for Day Three: Replace/resurface pavement in needed areas of the park
GAcoaster
I visited the park for the first time in two years this summer and I saw great improvements all around the park, but the one thing that stuck out to me was the cracked and uneven pavement all around the park. Lot's of places look very patchy and just need replacement. Especially the pathway between Congo Rapids and Nitro which was just deteriorated to the point of being a tripping hazard as well as an eyesore. Coaster Justin
Would you replace them with Blacktop or Concrete?
29yrswithaGApass
Concrete all the way! Up until 1994 Great Adventure was one of the few parks that was totally concrete without any blacktop. That ended when the aircraft runways outside of the Right Stuff Mach 1 Adventure were added. Password121
Brick pavers would be an even bigger improvement but I understand they are very expensive. Regardless, blacktop looks awful in theme parks and should be avoided.
GAcoaster
Pavers are nice, but they always have settling problems and require a lot of maintenance. The pavers around the "Walkway around the world" at Disney are horrible, and they don't even have to deal with frost heaving. Concrete and more stamped concrete is needed! DANofNJ
Would you replace them with Blacktop or Concrete? well if you ever been to sfne, blacktop in the summer is brutal. Have to go with concrete Edited December 4, 2015 by DANofNJ
The Master
I say concrete too, over the 90s Dorney replaced all of its blacktop with concrete for a reason. Hershey still has blacktop and it gets hot in the summer.
