GAcoaster
With he recent announcements of capital improvements for 2008 by Six Flags, a couple of parks were conspicuously absent from the list of recipients of new attractions. Kentucky Kingdom was one of those parks, and that couple with the recent move of the park's general Manager and a large portion of the senior staff to Six Flags Magic Mountain has fueled rumors the park is for sale. NYRfan85
It wouldn't surprise me if SFKK is actually up for sale. They haven't really added much to the park or advertised it much. Their last additions were a new slide and Greezed Lightnin' which was an import. Also, with the recent trend of SF parks being sold, it makes sense. GAcoaster
It was interesting to hear on the conference call that they are not currently planning on selling any additional parks, but at the same time they mentioned there were still 2 or 3 that they would consider selling if they were approached with a decent offer. Couple that with the fact that 2 parks (SFA and SFKK) don't seem to be receiving any new rides for 2008, and I think it's obvious which parks might still be on the block... 29yrswithaGApass
It looks like Six Flags has circled back around and filled in the "missed" parks with new water slides for their waterparks. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom just announced it will now receive a Mega Wedgie and last month they announced Tony Hawk's Halfpipe for Six Flags America. Now if someone will just remember there is a cute little water park in Jackson NJ!
