Very happy to learn the Roaring Rapids name is back this year and there is a suggestion that it may have received some needed TLC as well... 

Very happy to see the Skyride was spared, at least for anther year. There were rumors it was being removed, but it is still listed on the 2024 maps that were just released. 

Everything that exists here SHOULD be archived soon. 

Really hoping Cedar Fair takes the lead on all parks after the merger. Rides should be ready at the start of the season, not mid-summer. I like that their parks have been embracing their uniqueness and moving away from cookie cutter additions, and I hope as combined company this continues. 

Wow-- I never heard of it before. There were so many little parks like this that were a "big deal" then just faded away between the depression and the ride of bigger, regional parks. 

It was so loud, and part of that was that it was right on the walkway! There was no avoiding it. 

After looking at many options, I have decided that the best path forward for our Forums is to partner with ParkFans.net. They already have an active forum which primarily focuses on Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Kings Dominion, but covers parks around the country and around the world as well. They have always had active discussions of Great Adventure, and welcomed our members to become part of their forums.

I am finalizing the plans for the future of our Forums, and should be ready to announce it soon.

They announced the "new" Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open this summer at WDW and showed of the really impressive animatronic:

This seems to be a contractor building and running it, so the risk for the park is minimal.

The pricing I've been seeing on the "glamping" is just INSANE if true, but we'll see what happens... 

And apparently it will live on in a new home!
 

I'm just so glad they kept it instead of removing it. It was a real close call from what I understand... 

I am hoping to send out an email to everyone on the mailing list announcing the next steps, along with posting it on Facebook. It looks like the Forums and Galleries here will still be functional into March, so we have a few weeks left here as well. 

As soon as the details are settled I'll let everyone know. It SHOULD be something that everyone will be happy with. 

Not to worry, I am fairly certain we have a new, better solution which should make everyone happy. 

I hope to have more information and an announcement soon...

There should be IQ tests to enter theme parks... 

The issue is that the Forums and Galleries cost quite a bit of money to keep open. I can't afford to keep them open out of my own pocket, and if I can't count on a steady source of money to keep them up, it's just unfeasible.

I am looking at another option now which seems like it may be the best solution. I will let you all know more as soon as I have things together. Ideally the solution will be open to all and free to use for the site and for users who wish to participate. 

I will keep that in mind! I am leaning towards Discord although I know very little about it, so if I do help will be appreciated. 

Maybe they just let it stand there like the Coney Island parachute tower?

I'll live with it-- better than losing the Skyride and as a passholder I still get it free. SeaWorld San Diego was the same way with the Skyride and the Sky Tower as upcharges and SeaWorld Orlando does the same with their Sky Tower.

Skyrides and Sky Towers are an endangered species with the age and cost of maintaining them, and if it's pay extra or lose it, I'll pay to keep it. I hope Great Adventure's Skyride survives, but I've heard rumors it is going away...
