  1. The operating calendar was confusing at times this season. I know I drove past the park several times when the gates were open and the calendar said it was closed and others where it was unexpectedly closed. They need to sync the website and app with hours too.
  2. We still haven’t seen what was promised for 2022 (Barnstormer) or 2023 (Hurricane Harbor) additions open. I don’t think the 2024 additions have been before the Jackson Planning Board yet.
  3. Disney did the same things with the removal of their bricks around the Seven Seas Lagoon between all the Magic Kingdom resorts and TTC.

  12. I found one of these and will post the differences between this version and the other two similar iterations soon.
  13. In my opinion, I’d love to see a park similar to what GA was in 1983. I view that as SFGA at its pinnacle.

  15. Unlike when it was first announced that they were going to close California's Great America, there is now a chance (albeit small) that Great Adventure could get their Columbia Carousel!
  16. Today’s news reminds of a movie recently on TCM!
  17. US amusement park operators Cedar Fair, Six Flags in merger talks-sources By Greg Roumeliotis and David French November 1, 20232:25 PM EDTUpdated 12 min ago NEW YORK, Nov 1 (Reuters) - U.S. amusement park operator Cedar Fair LP (FUN.N) is exploring a potential merger with peer Six Flags Entertainment Corp (SIX.N), people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday. A tie-up between the two companies would come as concerns about a U.S. economic slowdown and consumers curbing their discretionary spending have weighed on their stock performance. Merging would allow them to weather a slowdown from a stronger position. The companies have discussed a combination in the past, including in 2019, and there is no certainty that the latest deliberations will result in an agreement, the sources said, requesting anonymity because the matter is confidential. If there is an agreement, it could come as early as Thursday, when Cedar Fair reports quarterly earnings. Cedar Fair and Six Flags, which have a market value of $1.8 billion and $1.7 billion, respectively, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Cedar Fair shares and Six Flags rose more than 6% and 7% on the news, respectively, in afternoon trading in New York. They have both underperformed the Refinitiv United States Leisure & Recreation Price Return Index by more than 15% this year. Cedar Fairs owns 11 amusement parks and four gated outdoor water parks in 10 U.S. states and in Toronto, Ontario. Six Flags is the largest operator of water parks in North America, with 27 parks across the United States, Mexico and Canada. Source: Reuters
  18. It has only been recently that the park has posted crowd and weather updates on social media but the park has been pushed to the brink of capacity before including big name concerts and Fright Fest around Halloween. In the past it has mostly resulted in putting up “Park is Crowded - You may wish to come back another day” signs or closing the gates to the parking lot when it is full like in 1981 for Marshal Tucker Band or 1986 for the Monkees.
