  1. I know when they usually apply for the following year's Capital, Although this year "Carribean Cove" came thru in March pretty late. The Security Gates, and the New Backstage Trailer were all in it. But i was looking for anything else really.just going on around the Property, alot coming up with the Solar going thru.
  2. Nothing to report from the Jackson Twp Site other than the Solar Project has been officially Voted on, and Approved in June. Other than that, nothing from the Park that is current.
  3. It always did with the Original Portal, now it's the only exception in the whole Park. And i wonder how they got around it on this one? Maybe they gave the original Permit the "clear" since they said they were replacing the Sign? It is a requirement in NJ, they wouldn't have built all the little cover's in "Green Lantern's" que, and the whole "Zumanjaro" debacle was over the Ride being under the Track. Even the one end of "The Joker" has a Roof over the Line that goes to the back side of it. They got away with It, because it was "grandfathered" in being built prior to 2002 when the Law's changed. It seem's that anything built prior to 2002, if modification's are done, they can be exempt from re-certifying the Ride somehow. They still have to re-certify the Operation's every year though. There are more Laws that are not included in this form, they give another site to look at, or say go to your Local Library. http://www.nj.gov/dca/divisions/codes/codreg/pdf_regs/njac_5_14A.pdf
  4. I'm banking on 2017 Passes going on sale for a decent price at the end of the regular Season. Trying a new thing where we go to the Park every year, but only Buy passes every other. Get 2017 Passes cheap at the end of this year, go for FF and HITP and all of next year. After 40+ year's of me going to the Park, i have no prob skipping every other Spring in the Park.
  5. Then it's a good thing they don't have to worry about it this year lol. Think it's time to go a snoopin' on the "minutes", see if any other demo work has come up. They have to do something with those old Wooden Stand's along the Pathway in the "Old Country" re-furbished (i hope, they are still really nice looking) or removed. Something is going to pop up soon for some news.
  6. Going back a few Post's, they would have to remove the "Slingshot" for the "Hall Of Justice" Facade and the overflow Que. The GA Road Race would be fine though. They could move "Slingshot" right across to the area next to the "Green Lantern" and behind "Twister". But they would have to make a couple more HUGE footer's and the Foundation that "Slingshot" sits on is really big and deep. A move for that would not be cheap, but it's Money they could re-coup from the Games and all the new Traffic in the Boardwalk heading to a "JL". And Slingshot is an "upcharge", they would have incentive to move it, and not just re-move it. And even the Demographic of who the main rider's of a "JL" would be, are the same ones that would spend $$$ in the Games, Family's. That addition, in that spot, will prob be the best location of a "Justice League" in the whole Chain with it's surrounding Rides, and the $$$ it can generate. And going back to Matt's post also, there ia ALOT that factor's into where and what happen's in any Park, and especially one in NJ with out "tight" State Rules and Regulation's. We have it harder that alot of other Park's in other States. RIght off the bat (and easy to see) you can't have any Coaster Track with Guest Path's underneath it, without some sort off Roof. That is a rule that hardly any other States have
  7. I just watched a "TIme Lapse" vid of the last JL Installation. After watching it, the Building they used look's to prob be cheaper to put up, than to re-furbish a Smulator Building. Just a Steel Barn basiacally on a slab. But then in Movietown we would have 2 "big grey box" behomoth's right next to each other. Would look horrible, and they lose all the $$$ from the Games not putting it on the Boardwalk.
  8. S&S Freespin's only cost 7mil. And that was the Prototype's (Batman) cost, installation cost's had to have been a little cheaper with us being the second time around. And "El DIablo" is well under that number. But look at all the Demo work also, that's why they went "cheap". They won't have that this year,
  9. As to why no "JL" this year, whatever we are getting, it will be in "Old Country/Movietown", i mean even Harry's pic from the last PTR of the site is pretty much telling us (not to put word's in your mouth Harry, but we all know how you operate after seeing it over the years lol) They WILL NOT build a new Building for a "JL" when we already have a perfectly fine building, in a better spot than Movietown for a "JL", next to two Superhero Coaster's, and especially not when that same building has already been converted in another Park. And the most important fact about putting one on the "Boardwalk", is that it is a rare chance for the Park to be able to add a new attraction in that "landlocked" section of the Park, that will make them a ton of Money with all those Guest's going thru the Games to get to it. They will not pass that opportunity up. But as for what the "Chiller" spot can hold, and what style of Coaster we don't have, and current trend's, it's not hard to narrow down what it's probably going to be. Last year on the same "Dueler" Survey, also was a launched "Batman" motorbike Coaster. That could be a possibility, anything with a Verticle lift, and alot of innversion's, along the lines of the "Dare Devil Dive Coaster". That could be a possibility. But i still think, we will get the 1st T-Rex, and it will be a launched one. Just not sure of the scope, and doubtful it will be a "mobius" dueler one. But never know, the last 2 year's were sort of "minor" for the standard our Park has set over the year's with new attraction's. We set a World Record with the Tallest Drop Ride in the World with the last "big" thing we did, were due for something along those lines.
  10. I hope they opened the Pre-Show Annoncement's Music as they always have, with "Come Sail Away" from Styx. Wouldn't be the same without hearing it.
  11. I really don't care what anyone think's, or what's. We are in no way getting a "Justice League" in 2017. PERIOD. I'll back that up with a $100 bet to anyone.
  12. From looking at this shot. If they did do something that matched in any way the layout shown, it would most likely have to go around the back of Showcase, and not all the way up that wooded area between the Parking Lot, and the Picnic Grove unless it's really, really, big. But i'm not good with photoshop, so have to picture a Station about where "Chiller" was, 2 Track's going thru the Observatory, hard overbank's to the rt in that little grassy area in front of the Observatory, then over the Path (would need to be covered then in NJ) then around the backside of Showcase, then into and over the "Picnic Grove's" wooded area that's behind the "Autobahn", then over it and into where "Musik Express" was for the Break-run for 1 Track, and the other went thru the Station for the 2nd Launch to run the course on the other Track. For it to go along the Parking Lot Fence looking at this shot, it would have to be really really, big, and have a really fast Launch to make it that far thru a course, don't seem feasable looking at this.
  13. The Building came down right after the Season ended after HITP. The same Demo Company that did the Grandstand, went right into "Chiller" after the Park closed for the year. They did that just for cost, cheaper to have them do the 2 Jobs right after each other, then have them leave the Park, and come back. The telling thing to me is that the ground has been leveled just recently already. And another thing that is very telling to me, is how it seemed the Park didn't want it to get out that it was gone, knowing that it would "fuel" the T-Rex Speculation, after they have been reading me post about for about a year now on Social Media. I know they pay attention to post's, after last year and me posting all over about "Total Mayhem", and then them naming the Terror Trail "Total Mayhem" to try and "swerve" us proved it.
  14. I'm happy with whatever, as long as it's a good fit for the Park. I could easliy see them though, with what the current pattern has been of first adding what they call an "entry level" Coaster for Kids with "El Diablo". Followed this year by "mid-level" fun with "The Joker", and then they end the pattern with an intense Coaster with the 54in height requirement. Then after adding 3 diff Coaster's with progressive thrill level's, going in the complete opposite direction with "Justice League" in 2018. That is a pattern that makes total sense to me. EDIT : I always dig around other Park's site's, and Forum's and Post's, as there are some out there that do occasionally have good info. Not saying this person that posted this is one of them, but i cut this from a post on a SFOG Site, that i found from a google search. It was posted before the news came down that it's the Bumper Cars that are going, and that they are most likely getting a "JL". But there are some rumor's out there now, that do back up my whole "theory" about RMC and Six Flags working "hand in hand" to develop the T-Rex as a cheaper alternative to anything out there now, it would make sense for them to Purchase the first one. This is from the "Coastercrazy" SFOG forum's. I talked with a couple people yesterday who really know the park and the common speculation is that it is either Thunder River or Splashwater Falls that is going, with almost everyone agreeing that it will not be a coaster. As next year is a big anniversary year for the park, it is expected that they will be getting a very big roller coaster and it is necessary to begin work this early for it. What type of coaster? Well, Six Flags is reportedly building the prototype RMC T-Rex at one of their parks next year, and while I don't know that it will happen SFOG seems like a pretty good candidate for the ride.
  15. The nostalgia of having another Dual Launcher in that spot, and one that actually work's as planned would blow me away, and alot of other people too. It has the potential to be the best Coaster they ever did if RMC deliver's with the T-Rex. And it would really compliment what we have, by being totally different than any other Coaster, just like "The Joker" did. And that def is a factor on whatever is coming. That is my opinion, i would love that thing if came to be. On that survey response, one of the many from diff e-mail's i did, hopefully i got them thinking by saying after all the money you spent trying to fix "Chiller" to operate as planned, and then just to operate at all with the re-profiling, then to only have remove it a couple year's after. You have a chance to fix all that and finally deliver on that concept. And to have another "racer" type Coaster after we lost "Rolling Thunder", and have been "racing" in the Park since 1979. It is missed by alot of Guest's. I sent that worded different ways, at least a dozen times to try and make it be a reality. But that's just how feel about it after learning the concept existed. At this point i don't have much to know if it is happening or not. I still keep searching for RMC Yard pics, to see if any T-Rex Track is laying around. But the most promising news i've heard is that if they leveled the ground at "Chiller" and Work start's happening, what ever it is, it's big if they are starting already.
  16. Magic Mountain and SFOG are getting "JL" for 2017. They have only done 2 a year the entire time they have been installing them, doubt that will change all of a sudden this year. I would love to see a few large, or mid-sized flat's go in Old Country/Movietown. A new Enterprise back where one belong's on the Pathway leading to a couple more new flat's to go along with TDK, and "Batman : The Ride", in a new "Gotham City" with another new enclosed Resteraunt/Bar in the old HBO Commisarry (pretty sure that is coming no matter what) instead of everything going into one large Coaster. But i only say or "report" what i think it look's like is coming, i keep what i want, or any opinion out of it and just follow the lead's wherever they take me. But without me actually being in the Park this year to look around for "clues", (and if what i'm hearing is true, they are there now) but it's why i've been pretty quiet this year with thing's. Only thing i heard from Family Friend's is that the Local has work starting at the end of this year. And that's not speculation, if Local 68 is working there, it's most likely a Steel Coaster. They only do Coaster's and maybe large Flat's (not really sure on that one though, have to check the Parachute's Spotlight and see if Local 68 was in on that construction, i don't really see how they wouldn't be, it's Steel) And i don't know what Company, as many Companies have member's in that Union, could be any of them. But either way, getting those Path's back open and drawing Guest's has priority over putting a new Ride in an already "Guest congested" side of the Park. We need balance, and Crowd's dispersed evenly throught the Park to lighten them. It's why they did the Lakefront, and it's why next will be the "Old Country/Movietown". And right now we are the "Star" of the Chain, we outperform MM and are closed a couple Month's of the Year, they are, and will spend $$$ on us. And we are due for something "big" after a small, and mid-sized attraction. And even if you look at everything else that came along with them, from the HH Expansion, to "Macho Nacho", paving the Lot, they have been putting alot into the Park the last few year's. That is going to continue, and the reward they have recieved for it is a 9% gain in Guest's. I'm pretty sure they want to continue that trend, and hitting with something "big" this year would do that. And even the marketing this year with it being "The Year Of The Villian" it does set up next year's marketing of "Batman" (or the JL) striking back. It all just fits together too nicely to be ignored, and over the year's i have learned, that if it look's like it's happening with a ride, it does happen. Unless something comes up last minute and a change has to be made, and that's why all the Launch System problem's Dollywood had just has me wondering if it's affecting any other Launcher's they had planned. I gives me a little doubt about any other Launcher's from RMC happening this year. But either way, whatever it is coming for 2017 it's going on Chiller's spot, that is pretty much a "lock".
  17. My feelings for the T-Rex came last year, the thing that 1st started me in that direction was the Survey Mark's out between the Water Tower, and the Picnic Grove along the Parking Lot Fence. That pointed me in the direction of that area. Then after all the Lakefront Stuff started happening, and the 4-D Survey with the "Funhouse" theme and "Total Mayhem" came along and that was the big news for a bit. But then a few week's after that Survey, the one with with what at the time, i thought was a Premier "mobius", "Batman Street Chase" launcher, that was "stealing" ideas from "Twisted Colussus", with an "in-line" over the other Track while dueling, on roughly about the same spot that Twisted has the Stall. Then instead of the overbanked turns, it had "interlocking dive loop's" that got the direction changes along the course, along with one turn that was overbank's. But then they announced the T-Rex, and it all came together, and i realized it was not Premier at all, but an RMC. But the layout on that Coaster they showed, even though crude (we all saw the T-Rex animation, it was exactly the same) But the layout on that Coaster would fit perfectly, with the Station right about where it was with "Chiller", launching the same way thru the Observatory, then hitting the "overbanked" hard rt turn's, (on an incline) then heading out over about where the Food Stand is next to "Freefall's" old spot, and taking it out into the Wooded area near the Garages behind the backstage road that runs to them. Then it hit "diveloop's" to take another set of rt turns to get it running along the Parking Lot Fence, right about where the Survey Marking's are/were, twisting in and out of each other, before hitting the "in-line" over the other Track, that would then take in and around the Picnic Grove somewhere, before it hit another set either set of either "dive loop's" or overbank's, (i forget the element in this spot) and then heading to about where "Musik Express" was, then the one Track went into the Station, and the other went thru it into the 2nd Launch, to run the course on the other side. There was a sort of small "helix" element that the one Track did before entering the Station, but the exact layout i'm sure will be different, and was not final at all. But overall it looked to be a Steel, launched, version of "Twisted Colussus" that would even be in the same spot's in each Coast's Park, with the "signature" element's welcoming Guest's with a great view of them from the Parking Lot. Now this year i have not been to the Park at all, and prob won't go till' 2017 Passes go on sale, i skipped this season as my Kids really don't want to go anymore. They have been going since they remember, and just got bored with it last year. Were doing day trip's this year to other Park's, and the Beach, etc. So all i really have to go on this year, is all the work that has been going on with the leveling of the Station, and it makes sense since how big it was, it would have to be gutted really bad, to allow a Track to go over it or around it or whatever they come up with, but on a Coaster that really didn't have alot of height, it was just in the way. Speed, twist's, and dueling are what that layout was all about, and that would fit us perfectly and be another totally different experience than anything we have currently. And i heard that the Local does have work coming up at the Park this later this year, and they only do Steel. But that is why i have been saying to keep an eye on the Observatory, if they start clearing it out, or start to remove the addition they added, it may be a sign that Train's will be going thru it again.
  18. It's Movietown/Old Country for 2017, i am 100% sure of that. It's just the "what" that is coming. But if this is true, that they have started to level the ground on "Chiller"s spot, it's most likely something "big" that would require them to start up work already. Keep an eye out for the Observatory being cleared out. If it does that will be a big "tell" also, from the layout that was shown last year, Train's will be going thru it again.
  19. No, the State can show up througout the Season and do "spot" inspection's, and they do occasionally. One of my Wife's best friend's work's for Dept Of Community Affair's, she has gone on "spot" inspection's before. She can get in the Park free at any time just flasing her State Badge, we were going to use a "Bring A Friend Free" on her year's ago, she said "keep it", just showed her Badge and got in. And if it's just a rumor, guess Batman fell for it also since it's been closed since that day and the Track is all marked out for weld's.
  20. Funny, out of all those "Mock Up's" i saw last year with everything from a Wingrider, to i think a Premier, none looked like it actually would end up looking like from the updated Google shot. Now on anither note, has anyone heard about Batman failing State Inspection, and that is why it's closed? I just saw pics of the Track, and has spot's that are marked in orange tape, that really look bad. Most likely they are the weld's it failed Inspection for, or where they are doing repair work. I read "The Joker" and "Batman" failed, but "The Joker" re-opened later that day, around 7(ish), and "Batman" has been closed since.
  21. Remember it well, played many Games. And always nice to see yourself pop up in a Spotlight, i have 2 under my belt now lol.
  22. I definetly think that RMC worked very closely with Six Flag's, and prob our Park's own Larry Chickola to come up with a cheaper way to do Coaster's in the scale of 20mil+ B&M's, and came up with the T-Rex. If any park in the Chain is the 1st Customer, it will add credibility to that idea. And they will prob talk about it giving interviews about it if it does happen.
  23. Ya, know what. I totally forgot "Magic Mountain" seem's to be the other JL this year. Of, course, as the "vets" know, still way early. But that makes me REALLY happy, cause' say what ya' want, but that speculation is "another little thing" (this time ruling something out) pointing to what i've been saying for a long time now, and i'm even sick of saying it, so i'm not lol. But one thing i was just thinking about, and was the original reason i even came on the Site at this moment. But i was thinking just how bad we need another Wood Coaster. I think one of those new RMC Compact Wood design's could fit quite nicely in Chiller's spot.
  24. ^^ Of course Congo, but i mean a place for Kids in comaprison to Splash Water, and BBNP. There is nothing for little kids to cool off with on that side of the Park, every Kids section should have some type of a Water Feature for little ones to cool off with. Can't keep a 2yr old on your Lap on Congo.
