  1. It's funny that, with the park concept being larger-than-life, the train was so small.
  2. I hope they don't go with some silly, out of place, comic book theme. Does DC have any frontier superheroes?
  3. They really have had some BAD advertizing campaigns. Were they all from the same agency. If so, they really need a new one.
  4. Nothing says "Theme Park" like a creepy old man!?!?
  5. The ride was very "All-American" themed. Unfortunately, that theme didn't make any sense. What else in that area, or in the park, is "All-American" themed? Also, you wouldn't notice those stripes unless you're flying over the park in a helicopter.
  6. I thought I read many articles about how the public found that character to be very "Creepy" and "annoying" and not good for the park's image? I would have to say I don't think it is a good direction to go. If the park is going to go backwards and bring back an old campaign instead of creating a new one, I don't think that was the best one they have ever had.
  7. I also find it hard to believe they could have faded that much and not have been re-painted. I have to try to check out the spotlight, but here's a quick question that may or may not be answered there: Why were the original cars replaced with the triangular-shaped ones? I think the original ones looked better and the bright colors were much better than the dull red and blue they were the last time I saw them.
  8. The frame from the original park entrance sign?
  9. The "tree line" really looked great, especially walking through the park. It's a shame they're all gone.
  10. They probably can not use the Wizard of Oz because they do not own the rights. The original park concept had an Oz section. It would be the perfect section for any theme park and I would assume that if any theme park could, they would create an Oz section.
  11. The lion was not originally an icon for the Safari Park, it was an icon for the entire complex. It was later moved to the Safari. I don't think any of the signs they have had since at the park entrance even come close to matching the magic of the lion. The current park sign looks more like an entrance to an office building than a theme park.
  12. That's a tough one. Either the Super Tee Pee or the Flying Wave. If I had to chose one, I guess the Tee Pee.
  13. I really like that idea. However, I think it might be too much to have 2 "train" coasters in the same area.
  14. Wouldn't that be painful, like sticking your head out the car window in the middle of winter?
  15. Terminator would be an even less appropriate theme than Medusa. The mining theme would be much better.
  16. It looks like it could be a pretty good ride. I do, however, agree that the theming is a little strange. I've never been to that park and do not know what the themeing is, if there is any. It appears to have the usual Six Flags "Random" theming.
  17. "Free parking will never happen at GA" "Unless they completely eliminated a parking fee" ? Isn't that what "Free Parking" means?
  18. I don't remember when they did it, but I just think this is a bad idea for any park. You stop everyone and make them wait in line to pay to get into the parking lot, then stop them again to make them pay to get into the park. Wouldn't it make more sense to just add the cost of parking to the park ticket. Spread it out amoung all tickets to get the same amount of money without making people stop and pay twice before even getting into the park. You would not have to build a toll booth and pay people to work in it and people would get in the park quicker and not as aggravated about having to pay twice to get there. You could just hang a sign at the current toll booth saying " Parking is free - Have a Great Day! ". It would put people in a great mood entering the park and they would spend the money in the park. Just a thought.
  19. I'd like to see them theme the ride to the section of the park that it's in. I never understood a green and purple coaster called Medusa in the western section of the park.
  20. See what lengths they went to keeping as many trees as possible when the park first opened? I also remember seeing a spot on the Yum Yum Palace where they left off part of the decorative trim because there was a tree close to the building. Now it seems they use any excuse to cut trees down. It's a shame it's no longer a forrest.
  21. Rock and Roll Time Machine and Spirit of the Olympics.
