  1. Six Flags can't be bothered with theming, they like generic.
  2. Is that a statement or a question? SUF is a waste of space. If trees are a waste of space, why build in a forrest to begin with? Just buy a parking lot and throw some rides in it.
  3. Take out Superman and plant some trees between the parking lot and the park.
  4. I can't imagine how 3 people could actually FIT in those seats.
  5. I wish they would actually make the roof look like an ice cream sundae like the Yum Yum Palace. It seems like that is what they were originally going for, but never completed. Th current roof looks really out of place amid the ice cream posts and nearby Yum Yum Palace.
  6. Even if there was such a clause, it certainly could not be enforced now.
  7. If you need to build a roller coaster in the parking lot in order for anyone to be interested in riding it, it's not worth building.
  8. I'm sure cheapness is the only reason for things being so drab and dreary. I can't believe anyone could stop them from painting things any way they want at this point. The gutting of the interior and changing the name and menu was also a huge mistake. It's a giant ice cream sundae, it made sense to sell ice cream. The interior was bright and fashioned after a turn-of-the-century ice cream parlor, with the ice cream swirl posts, white color, and mirrors. The menu was elaborately painted on mirrors and the lights were old fashioned style tulip lights. Now it's dark and dreary and looks like a bowling alley snack stand.
  9. I think it's better to place a coaster in the back of the park instead of in the parking lot. My main beef with the location is that it ruins the safari. I don't think you can blame the location too much for the lack of interest, Nitro doesn't seem to have a problem attracting people and it's just as far out of the way. I think it's more the coaster itself that people aren't that interested in.
  10. It's a shame how something that was once so bright and colorful is now so dark and dreary. Even the name has been downgraded from fanciful to boring.
  11. He makes a major point: "The wives make the decision on resorts, not the kids," "he tries to appeal to women, not children." Six Flags needs to listen to this. Women, and adults in general, want to watch shows, eat unique food, and spend the day in a pleasant atmosphere. These are all things Six Flags does not offer and the reason adults avoid the parks.
  12. It looks like someone wearing a rubber mask. There is just something not quite right about him. Maybe it's the glasses, or the 70s. It DOES look like a young Mr. Six.
  13. Amen to that!! Those hideous florescent shirts were a HUGE mistake.
  14. One of the original Game Boys. Portable, but not very practical.
  15. I think it would still be an enchanted forrest. He probably would have added all the thrill rides and coasters, but would have done it using the forrest to make them more exciting instead of demolishing the forrest.
  16. I don't rmember that ever being allowed. I'm going to say false.
  17. I doubt it would be considered "historical". As far as being a park staple, that wouldn't stop them from removing it. It all comes down to cost and availablility of parts. Parts shouldn't be a problem. I have no idea what maintenance costs are like and whether enough people ride it to make it worth the cost.
  18. While I'm not sure Avatar is a great idea, I do think the Animal Kingdom is the best place for it. Suggesting it belongs in a "Studio" park because it was a movie would suggest most Disney attractions should be at Hollywood Studios. Most Disney attractions are based on Disney films. where they fit depends on the subject matter. This theming is what Disney does very well. Six Flags could learn a lot from them, instead of throwing a bunch of things together that are completley unrelated and calling it "Movie Town". I do believe Avatar is a bit of a gamble. It seems the movie has been pretty much forgotten, and if the sequals do not ignite much interest, they could wind up with a large attraction that noone cares about.
  19. I would much rather see an Autobahn style. Something with some thought behind it that looks unique. This is colorful, but it's a cheap carnival ride. They can put lights on anything. I hope they don't just buy a cheap carnival ride and plop it in the park. But what are the odds that that's NOT what they'll do?
  20. It's very cute. If the park had a 50s section it would be great. This is the problem with whoever designs the parks, they place all kinds of random things that do not go together in sections that are not themed to match them. Its like they design things in an office somewhere, having no idea what park it's going in, and then throw a dart at the park map to decide where to put it.
