  1. Will introduce myself if we cross paths next time. I'll be easy to recognize. Usually the tallest man in the park. Maybe Harry can open a an apparel store so we can all get history hoodies with our screen name on the back.
  2. Wish I could match faces to some of these posts. We were at Macho Nacho from 7-8. Line was brutally slow. We were probably next to you. Anyhow nice post. Took the kids on Harley. Is it me or does it seem like the train is much louder now? Also, I must say I could literally spend all day on the Tango! We always hit it once or twice when we trade off kids to go on El Toro but yesterday did it about 10 cycles and loved every one.
  3. So with that said maybe they anticipate it being ready the week before memorial for pass holders. Can't wait to try it out.
  4. Anyone have rumors of a target date yet for joker?
  5. I never saw the haunted house. Think my first visit was the year after the fire. All the info available on this site sparked my interest to look further. Saw the documentary and was horrified. Didn't really care about conspiracy or faults. The facts alone were enough to turn my stomach. Just a horrible story. Do have one question, the doc references speakers mounted in the trees as the last remains of HH. Think I spotted them a short walk to the right of showcase in the trees. Is that accurate?
  6. Revamp or re theme Congo Rapids. Use smoke machines from FF, get waterfalls back on, put some water jets. Maybe more waves. Plants, props, sounds...anything. Pretty boring now.

    Las Vegas

NY NY was painful but heard it used to be even worse. People we met said the best time to do it was at night. Wish we had the time. Looked into buffalo bills but that was pretty far away from the strip. Almost an hour away. Kind of a long trip for that.

    Las Vegas

Just returned from a nice few days in Vegas. First time there. Weather was in the high 60's for the most part. Thought that would be chilly but actually felt like mid 80's. Anyhow we stayed at Excalibur which wasn't my first choice but glad we did. Right in the middle of all the action. First day I had to get on the coaster at NY NY. Certainly looked more fun than it actually was. Nothing to write home about but still cool to do. Shortly after we found out that we can drink booze while touring the strip. Woohoo. Headed to CVS and stocked up on a few big cans of twisted tea. The perfect beverage while soaking in the sun. Finished day one walking to all the casinos up to Venetian. Highlights were Paris tower, Ceasers food, and drunken gondola ride. Day two we caught the bus up to circus circus( with a bag of teas) good time there. Caught the circus show on 2nd fl which was better than expected and headed over to adventure dome. Hopped on the canyon? Coaster. Kind of cool. Didn't have high expectations for an indoor park but still happy we did. Next headed on to el loco. Got to say this on was my favorite. Packs a few nice surprises for such a small coaster. Gets my seal of approval. Not a whole lot more than that since it's mostly for younger people. Headed over to stratosphere next. Wow was that a good time. Spent about an hour or so checking out the view. Now I'm not easily jittered about heights but this one had me a little rattled. Of course the tea helped with that. Then headed up to the rides. Started with insanity. Pretty freaking cool. Just a spinning ride but being a 1000' up made it spectacular. Next headed up to big shot. My personal favorite. Was already having panic attacks form the sheer height when the ride released a loud burst of air just before launch. Holy $#!+ did that scare me followed by a launch to the heavens. Yes, a bit dramatic but awesome. There was a third ride there but didn't make it on this day. Wanted to do the big jump but wait time was unacceptable. Headed out for dinner and caught some more sights. Highlight of the day is certainly the stratosphere. Day three was pool day then headed to Fremont St. Pretty cool place. Signed up for the zip line which was pretty cool. One of our party stalled about 30' from the end and had to be brought in. Kind of funny. Only stayed for a few hours and caught the bus back to the hotel. Pretty long ride so we looked at some booklets being passed around noticed a helicopter tour of the strip for $90 per person. Oh yeah, we're in. Called and made the arraignments. Pretty sweet deal, they send a limo bus to Hotel for transport to airport and give you champaign before flight. Only lasted about 15 minutes but went from airport to Fremont and back. Far and away the coolest experience of the trip and certainly the highlight of the day. Went home on day 4 but a truly amazing trip. Glad we did it. Not much gambling but the rides, shows, buffets, and overall sights of the strip make this place unique. Next I got to spend a few days at Grand Canyon.
  9. Is the new revolution coaster in Georgia. In my opinion I hope they work it out and make the experience enjoyable.
  10. Welcome to the jungle ese Kidding of course I stumbled onto this site too. Offers a connection to the park I never felt before. Pardon the pun but it's a great adventure here. Not sure how the world operated before the Internet, message boards, and dare I say... The iPhone.
  11. Hope they figure out a way to open BBNP to offset that a little.
  12. I agree unless they flash pass enable the kiddie rides. Some of those lines were ridiculous! Lol
  13. Think a lot needs to happen as far as year round entertainment in the area before a hotel makes sense. My friend works in Dave and busters corporate and said Jackson was brought up as one of many potentials now that there allowed in jersey. I don't see it making sense but you never know.
  14. I vape too and also find it annoying when someone does it out of designated areas. Especially the big cloud makers. When the situation warrants it I'll approach and say hey, just a heads up. I got thrown out last week for that. GA is cracking down. Ruined my day. Of course it's not true but solved the problem. Quick and polite.
  15. Would a monorail ride make sense at the park? I envision something like Disneys railroad that goes around the perimeter of the park with a stop in each section including HH, Safari camp, and maybe an exit only stop for the parking lot. Was looking at the map and think it would look kinda cool too. Maybe have a stretch of it going over the lake. Would need to have long spans and perhaps ability to climb and dip to blend into the environment. What are your thoughts?
  16. We should put together a bus trip there so the locals can complain about jersey crowds much like we do about New York.
  17. They are a welcomed sight to see. Though I'm with Scott, I haven't seen much nonsense either other than some foul language and the occasional argument. Of course that's only in GA. HH on the other hand has given me many stories to tell and seems security there is even more non existent. I attribute that to overcrowding and sheer frustration with the patrons. I've stepped in for social justice more than once there because security was nowhere to be found or slow to respond. I've said in another thread that adding more chairs could make a tremendous impact on the mood of the crowd.
  18. I remember seeing Jackson police patrolling in the park several times during fright fest last year. One day had a car parked in front of security gate. Is this a partnership of some kind with GA or do they only come when an incident is reported? On top of that, one day during FF I saw 4 trooper cars blast through the lot responding to what appeared to be a fight in preferred parking. Wonder how it's decided what department is sent out?
  19. Here's the easy fix. They won't(and I understand why), but since the county, state, and federal prisons are reasonably close, and so many inmates are in for non violent offenses, a work release would be good all around. Until the national news gets word of an incident at the park.
  20. Glad I'm not the only one. GL, BM, and El toro I can only do once unless I'm front row. Seems less violent there. Ka I am retiring all together unless special occasion.
  21. Weird that it looked like it was limited to GA property. Even over the bridge. Almost like a controlled burn.
  22. Since it was too cold for us with most of the rides today(totally unexpected), we checked out the magic show, baby animals, and the shops. Gotta say the magic was kinda cool. My kids loved it. Baby animals were awesome, and never really looked in the shops much but found some cool items. All in all, not a bad day
  23. And wow was the the weather forecast whhaaay off.
  24. Most noticeable at HH. Wonder how many days they hit capacity last year.
