  1. Parques Reunidos (owner of Kennywood, Lake Compounce, & Dutch Wonderland) is interested now. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-10/spain-s-parques-reunidos-is-said-to-explore-purchase-of-seaworld

  3. Now it's getting interesting... http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-bz-bb-seaworld-merlin-sale-reports-20171005-story.html
  4. Six Flags only spent money on the water park in Oaxtepec, they aren't spending any money on any of the other international deals. The only reason Six Flags is spending less on rides is that they are giving most of the money to stockholders with dividends and stock buybacks. The money is there, they just don't want to spend as much on rides.
  5. They sold the bonds for the project and now have all of the money needed to complete it. That was the final hurdle, so I expect this to open in 2019.
  6. Gerstlauer is showing off this model of a Spinning Coaster and Eurofighter(Takabisha clone) at EAS in Berlin. It matches the description of the roller coasters previously mentioned for this park. The first half of the Eurofighter is a LSM launch followed by the lift hill section. https://www.facebook.com/ParksCoastersWorldwide/photos/a.616206268453936.1073741828.615927358481827/1634888076585745/?type=3&theater http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/achterbahnneuheiten2014/achterbahnneuheiten2014.shtml
  7. This is being demolished quickly. https://twitter.com/bioreconstruct
  8. Keep up the good work! I like the greatamericaparks.com site too. It was nice to see he finally got the Six Flags Great America book published.
  9. Yeah, according to the press release it was supposed to be open in May 2017. Between this and GaleForce, it seems like S&S isn't a good company to work with if you are a small park. http://www.engineeringexcitement.com/dutch-wonderland-merlins-mayhem-press-release/
  10. I have been hearing this will be a GCI similar to Invadr and themed to Oscar the Grouch. We shall see.
  11. New Jersey going forward, but I wouldn't mind the park being annexed by Pennsylvania so they can get rid of some of the rules imposed on the park by New Jersey. Seriously, if money was no object, I would build a train going around the park to tie everything together. I always thought it was odd that the park doesn't have a train.
  12. Yes, it's a great ride without any dull moments. The track length is 3100 feet, but the ride feels short because it is going so fast (72 mph). The train comes into the brake run with a lot of speed left, so some people think they should have added a couple more elements and possibly another lap before coming into the brake run. There was a noticeable drop off in enthusiast coverage of Great America after Robb Alvey wrote a scathing review of the park a few years ago for refusing to let his kid ride Viper and for refusing to give his group ERT before the park opened. Most of the enthusiast coverage in the area goes to Cedar Point, which is fine because Great America is more of a family/thrill park. EDIT: Twisted Timbers at Kings Dominion has a track length of 3361 feet and a speed of 54 mph. Twisted Cyclone at SFOG has a track length of 2400 feet and a speed of 50 mph. I am curious if people will complain about these rides being short next year or if the lower speeds will make the rides seem longer.
  13. New lawsuit: http://www.courierpostonline.com/story/news/local/south-jersey/2017/09/15/alesiani-great-adventure-diablo-lawsuit/671887001/

  15. I noticed that too. I am guessing Magic Mountain gets the event now that they are open every day next year. I think the event didn't do as well in the middle of summer in St Louis and that is why Great America went with the Last Call Fall Festival instead.
  16. This guy on reddit recently went on a tour of the RMC headquarters and did an Ask Me Anything. Based on what he said, I don't expect to see a T-Rex coaster in 2019. https://www.reddit.com/r/rollercoasters/comments/6wssqi/i_just_got_a_private_tour_of_rmcs_headquarters_ama/ Pictures of Raptor Test Track: http://imgur.com/a/iMOT2
  17. That seems to be what they are working towards with the larger roofs. I am curious what the other design changes are that would be made in the future.
  18. This was in Popular Science. http://www.popsci.com/tales-from-the-field?con=TrueAnthem&dom=tw&src=SOC&utm_campaign=&utm_content=5953bd6a04d30129f6971cb3&utm_medium=&utm_source=#page-8

  21. This should be fun to watch at night.
