  1. Here is the first official teaser for 2018. https://mobile.twitter.com/aceonlineorg/status/878076681759608832
  2. I was listening to the recent Goldman Sacks investors presentation on the Six Flags Investors Relations site and CEO John Duffey was talking about how successful this event has been so far. He said two parks will have a Mardi Gras event this summer and we already know one of the parks is SFStL. My guess is that SFGam gets the event in mid August through early Sept after SFStL is done with the floats. I think Six Flags might buy two more sets of floats next year to expand the event to another 6 or 7 parks. This year: SFMexico floats stay in Mexico due to shipping expenses and customs paperwork. SFFT floats goto SFStL and then SFGam Next Year: The first set of new floats goto SFDK then SFMM and SFOT The second set of new floats goto SFOG, then SFA, then SFGAdv, and then possibly SFNE

  4. I wouldn't read much into that, anyone can buy shirts, hats, etc with their logo. https://m.facebook.com/154373424599786/photos/a.422303081140151.81963.154373424599786/534408366596288/?type=3
  5. It's interesting to see how Six Flags has grown attendance chainwide by almost 6 million visitors when you compare the 2010 report to the 2016 report. Six Flags went from 24.3 million visitors in 2010 to 30.1 million visitors in 2016. Cedar Fair went from 22.8 million visitors in 2010 to 25.1 million visitors in 2016. Seaworld Parks and Entertainment went from 22.4 million visitors in 2010 to 22 million visitors in 2016.
  6. I just had a random idea for an upcharge attraction. Buy a bunch of duck boats like they have in the Wisconsin Dells and run a tour route through the lakes and other unused land.
  7. But it makes perfect sense, and they will put it by the games on the boardwalk to make massive amounts of money. Lmao and smh. I agree, I could also see a DC themed kids section like SFOG has in the remaining space of Old Country next to Justice League. I think the next coaster will be a family woodie, maybe GCI and in 2-3 years.
  8. I don't have much of a problem with the new policy, it is only a minor inconvenience and better than getting hit in the face by something. This new policy is the result of at least two injuries and a lawsuit over the last couple of years. This was most likely forced on Six Flags by their insurance company. http://www.courierpostonline.com/story/news/2016/05/18/huzenik-six-flags-adventure/84560080/ http://nbc4i.com/2016/08/23/woman-injured-after-being-hit-by-flying-object-on-roller-coaster/

  10. They are just teasing the new ride for 2018 in Rolling Thunder's old spot or a Bizarro retheme.
  11. Yes, that is odd. Maybe they were searching for stock photos of a boardwalk and came across that picture, it appears to be a popular Disney World desktop background image. Here is the original picture:
  12. It's going to Six Flags St. Louis in June. http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20170509005183/en/Mardi-Gras-Festival-Parade-Coming-Flags-St.
  13. When are they going to add some firetrucks to the safari?
  14. I thought this article with Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President Bonnie Weber was interesting because I haven't seen anyone from Six Flags mention adding a hotel to a park or becoming a destination resort in a long time. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-himi-weber-20170430-htmlstory.html Also, Great Wolf Resorts just purchased the struggling Key Lime Cove indoor waterpark resort across the street from Six Flags Great America for approximately $35 million dollars and is spending a minimum of $65 million dollars to renovate and expand the resort. The resort just closed and will reopen in mid-2018 as Great Wolf Lodge Illinois. http://www.dailyherald.com/business/20170419/great-wolf-expected-to-open-in-gurnee-in-mid-2018 So maybe something will happen with Great Adventure in the near future.
  15. Here is the other comment from John Duffey during the earnings call: I agree, as much as I would like to see the event here, I am not sure it will happen this year. I do like the idea of reusing the floats and food stands by shipping them across the country to different parks throughout the year. Great America almost seems purpose built for this event. They have a well established parade route that runs through the Orleans Place and Mardi Gras sections of the park.
  16. They didn't buy the park, it is an operating/lease agreement. I would think they will go after Super Aqua Club in Montreal so they can offer combo passes with La Ronde. I wonder if it would be more beneficial to pair Great Adventure & Hurricane Harbor with a park like Splish Splash Water Park on Long Island or take over Clementon Park & Splash World, remove the dry part of the park and expand the water park there. Would this help address some of the capacity issues at Hurricane Harbor?

  19. I guess I won't be riding Zumanjaro much this season if it has VR. https://www.facebook.com/coastercrew/posts/1031619096971706
  20. https://www.bostonglobe.com/business/2012/05/20/the-ups-and-downs-roller-coaster-installation/eHY8bQpdg6tOqau9raOnRJ/story.html "It was much cheaper for Six Flags Entertainment Corp., based in Grand Prairie, Texas, to move Goliath to Agawam rather than build a new roller coaster. Designed as an inverted boomerang by the Netherlands company Vekoma, Déjà Vu cost $20 million to build in 2001, and $7 million to disassemble, transport, and reassemble as Goliath."
