I think I am more excited this year due to the lack of leaks, they even named all of the ride pages newfor2018 instead of giving away ride names this year. The only leaks were the SFNE planning board meeting, STL soil testing in the water park, and the utility marking ticket for SFA that shows which ride is probably leaving. -

I was bored, so I decided to map out the sign locations. Three of the signs appear to be a similar distance from the fountain. The one by Justice League appears to be too short of a distance and should be on the Stunt Arena to match the distance of the other three. Could this be the site of the new attraction? -

I think Twister and unfortunately the Parachutes are near end of life and will need to be replaced soon. A couple years of new flats in Old Country and the Boardwalk would do some good. -

I think it will be easier to fill the jobs at the park if they are year round positions. More older workers might apply if the work isn't seasonal. -

Fair point, I thought I remembered the meeting being before the announcement that year but it looks like it was Sept 14th. I have been trying to find the exact zoning requirements for the park, but I have only come across some old hotel proposals. -

I think we would have seen a Planning Board Meeting by now if we were getting Mack Compact Extreme Spinning coaster. There is nothing on the schedule so far. I am expecting a ride that sits on an existing concrete slab. http://www.jacksontwpnj.net/documents/agendas/planning/index.php?dir=2017/&file=08-21-17.pdf -

A Zamperla Endeavour would be nice with the Skywarp, but I am not getting my hopes up. Six Flags doesn't build large coasters anymore. The best you can hope for is an RMC Raptor clone, small launch coaster, S&S prototype coaster, or a family GCI wood coaster. -

Wonder Woman at Fiesta Texas appears to be pretty close in size to the 250 ft x 75 ft layout RMC previously released. I measured the existing pond the ride will sit on in Google Earth while comparing the site with the renderings. That should provide a good frame of reference for where the ride might be able to fit if it was added to Great Adventure in the future. -
Instead of a Mardi Gras Festival, Six Flags Great America extended the season by two more weekends and added the Last Call Fall Festival https://www.sixflags.com/greatamerica/special-events/last-call-fall-festival

Remember when people kept saying this about the S&S 4D Free Spins? Everyone thought we would get the bigger 10 inversion one and were shocked when Six Flags dropped the exact same ride here that Fiesta Texas received. I would expect to get an exact clone of this Raptor track coaster too. T-REX looks like it will provide a way to build cheap Giga coasters, so that might be down the road. -
Whoops, fixed that. Thought I had one from Agawam.

I wouldn't count on seeing an RMC T-REX coaster anywhere for at least two years. -
2009 was a bad year for Six Flags and Cedar Fair to attempt buying more parks, the timing should be better this time around. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-bz-seaworld-sale-report-evercore-zhonghong-20170801-story.html https://www.thestreet.com/story/14250884/1/seaworld-entertainment-reportedly-hired-evercore-to-explore-a-sale.html

Evercore Partners is a financial advisor that specializes in mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring. It looks like the purchase agreement prevents Zhonghong Zhuoye Group from taking the company private or buying more than 24.9 percent of the shares outstanding. https://seekingalpha.com/amp/news/3283438-seaworld-entertainment-said-hired-second-advisor https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-03-24/seaworld-says-zhonghong-zhuoye-to-buy-21-stake-from-blackstone-j0nqgyma Is it possible they are planning to sell off some or all of the parks? Would Six Flags or Cedar Fair be interested in buying some of the parks? SeaWorld San Antonio would be a good opportunity for Cedar Fair to get into the Texas market. SeaWorld Orlando or Busch Gardens Tampa could be operated similar to Discovery Kingdom or Great Adventure under Six Flags and would become the new flagship parks for the chain. Jim Reid-Anderson said on the Q2 2017 Earnings Call that Six Flags would look at any merger and acquisition opportunites that might come up.

That site is the reason I started using an ad blocker on my phone and edited my hosts file in Windows to block the domains of all of the ad sites. I don't feel bad about it when it's that obnoxious.
