  1. I hope we can get a figure for how much Jersey Devil costed. I am very curious, I would guess between $8M-$10M USD, maybe a little more.
  2. Via Screamscape: Wow! If this is true, it would put to rest the theory that the only Power Splash that would appear in the chain would be Over Texas's (as a result of the nixed Six Flags Dubai). I really hope this is true, as it would implicate that the chain could be continuing this relationship with Mack Rides.
  3. Interesting to see Road Runner Railway being dismantled, LTSP is a thing of the past I guess. I’m really hoping it is moved to a different part of the park.
  4. Love it! Hopefully in this new coaster's ensuing legacy, people drop "Coaster" out of the title when discussing it, so that it's just "The Jersey Devil". I would love for the park to excise that last word off the name; if they were able to change "Total Mayhem" to "The Joker", it gives me hope that it's a possibility. But I'm not holding my breath.
  5. That wasn’t remotely my point! I’m saying that this isn’t much larger than the clones. I agree with you. I think that height is arbitrary for the overall impression of the attraction. The way it just goes straight into dropping (rather than a pre-drop turn around, in the same vein as Green Lantern and Wonder Woman) makes it pretty menacing. It will look GREAT as you approach it from a distance.
  6. I am very happy with this addition, but a part of me wishes they could have reached 150 feet with the height. When they say that records are being "shattered", you'd hope they'd leave a decent enough margin between the previous record-holder and the new addition. Being around 20 feet taller than the clones, it isn't going to be that much bigger comparatively. Regardless, I am very impressed with the lengthened layout they went with, and absolutely thrilled for Great Adventure.
  7. I think Magic Mountain is a possible contender for a roller coaster in 2021. They seem to get new coasters steadily. RMC conversions that could be on the horizon are Boss at SFStL, Le Monstre at La Ronde, and Roar at SFA (not that I'm expecting any of these in 2021). I am excited to see what happens, Six Flags tends to pull some tricks out of their sleeve that are pleasantly surprising. Adirondack Outlaw for 2020 was a more thrilling addition than I would've expected for a park like Great Escape.
  8. Has anyone heard anything about the capacity of JDC? I am hoping that they run this ride to its full capacity, with 12 person trains it'll need a lot of dispatches to keep the line moving. Maverick at CP has 12 riders per train, but they load two trains at once. If JD has a moving station, I think it could have a steady line, especially if they are running 3-4 trains and sending out full trains.
  9. Do you guys think the drop on JDC will be better than Nitro’s? JDC will probably be like Wicked Cyclone: an average height drop at a very steep angle, with a whippy transition. I felt that Wicked Cyclone’s first drop wasn’t even close to as good as El Toro’s, since El Toro is so massively steep, and the train is so long (especially with the added speed of the turn-around after the cable lift).
  10. I just saw the POV video they posted to their announcement page. It’s a great ride! The MCBR barely slows the train, the fall off of that into the over-bank is going to be wild.
  11. It will be the 6th tallest ride at the park, behind Kingda Ka (456 ft), Nitro (230 ft), El Toro (181 ft), Green Lantern (154 ft), and Bizarro (142 ft). It will also have the second steepest drop at the park of 87° behind Kingda Ka at 90°. I am wondering how many inversions it has - I expected 3, but the wording of the press release has me confused. Even though this isn’t as large as some of the other coasters in the park, it will likely be considered one of the best (if not the best) coasters in the park.
  12. Do we know if this ride would be open for Holiday in the Park? It is on the side of the park that stays open for HITP, so I’m assuming yes.
  13. With 12 riders per train, hopefully they fill the train and don’t run empty seats. That would be silly, considering it’s a single-file arrangement. The MCBR will hopefully boost up capacity; maybe by the time one train reaches the MCBR, another train will be dispatched. If they can send 60 full trains an hour, that is 720 riders per hour. In the animation, they are wearing the shoulder restraints (harnesses) that were on the Raptor clones. Hopefully they are not too uncomfortable.
  14. Looks amazing! JDC will be a little bigger than Twisted Colossus, but smaller than New Texas Giant. Cannot wait to have this at the park, it will definitely be a hit. I hope the lines keep moving with the longer trains and MCBR.
  15. Do we know if Aquaman: Power Wave has that rotating station to increase capacity? I wonder, because Pulsar uses that.
  16. The cryptic teasers are a bit frustrating, but at least Six Flags’ marketing is trying. Most of the additions are going to be flats anyways, so I am not too inclined to figure out what the teasers indicate.
  17. Could SFGAm be doing something with American Eagle? Or maybe they are just teasing it to throw people off.
  18. The "252" teaser seen at the park is speculated as representing the first comic that Supergirl was introduced in - thus likely indicating a Zamperla Endeavour. I don't think that your reasoning is enough to believe there will be a new coaster. When I visited in 2018, my impression was that they would need to remove an attraction to even find the space for a new major addition, without having to clear trees.
  19. La Ronde is such a hodge podge of attractions. They have a B&M mega coaster, a Batman: The Ride clone, and a Zamperla Giant Discovery. Those three seem pretty decent, and then there's a poorly kept SLC, a wooden coaster that has been described as brutally rough, and a few other unexceptional coasters. Pool that together with an uninspired layout, heavy crowds and poor operations, and it seems a disaster. If Green Lantern really does make its way there, that is kind of comical, from how violent that experience has been described as. @Yoshi that is an interesting comment and perspective. I did not consider the varying laws in shifting from California to Canada. Perhaps they will run a neutered version of Green Lantern, making it more tolerable? I know that it was said to get a "re-tracking" of sorts, but I am not sure how to interpret this information. Especially considering that, from what I was told, the experience was painful due to the trains and restraints.
  20. I find it bizarre that they would send Green Lantern to La Ronde. I am not questioning it, but it just makes me wonder. Is La Ronde that low on the totem pole that Six Flags is willing to send something that was essentially worse than fodder as a new addition there? I think it probably has less to do with priority, and more to do with saving some capital, and just recycling an attraction that only operated for 6 years. A few of the common predictions include: La Ronde - Green Lantern: First Flight (relocation from SFMM) SFA - Giant Discovery (perhaps Giga Discovery) SFMM - Starflyer SFOT - Mack PowerSplash (confirmed) Beyond these few, I am less guided and more open to listening than speculating. I really like your idea of a water coaster for SFGAm, @Medusa42. For all the parks as usual, we can expect something akin to the expected formula, including the typical Starflyer, Superloop, Zamperla Discovery, Tourbillon, and 4D-Free Spin additions. It would be nice to see a few roller coasters, but I'm not holding my breath.
