2022 and Beyond Speculation at SFGA
Gyrotron replied to east_custom_coasters's topic in The Future of the Park
To be fair, Six Flags has been messy as a whole for a long time. It seems like every new leader has to try to dig the company out of some landslide. Hearing that investments are being allocated into new attractions makes sense, that has been the company MO for as long as it has been prevalent in the competitive market. -
New for 2024- Flash: Vertical Velocity & More!
Gyrotron replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in The Future of the Park
I agree! I think Great Adventure may be getting something in 2024, I don't know if what the CEO said was just a teaser but it sounded like something was in the works for the anniversary. Even if it's a small thrill ride, that would be really nice! -

What do you guys think of the TrailRunner family coaster by Skyline? If Six Flags is actively working with them I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these show up. -

Oh wow, so the giga coaster thing wasn't true at all? I saw it commented by some popular Youtube channels, I didn't even see these posts on reddit. -

I heard a rumor that Great Adventure was going to get something absolutely massive by 2024 (something unheard of for Six Flags). But apparently, as of now that rumor is no more due to the recent changes in business model. -
MEDUSA is Back! - SFGA Announces Guest Enhancements for 2022
Gyrotron replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in The Park Today
I’ve noticed this to be the case historically for Medusa/Bizarro, unless it is an extremely crowded day at the park. I think it’s in part due to the high capacity of the attraction, but mainly its secluded location. -
Six Flags eliminating 15 underperforming rides this year
Gyrotron replied to Medusa42's topic in Industry News
I am actually shocked that the SFOT Tourbillon is gone, it was still one of their newest additions. I really thought that Cyborg at Great Adventure was going to be the successor of Twister. I guess time will tell? -

Does anyone have an idea on how much Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger costed? I saw that Zadra costed only about 14 million USD (if the source I saw was correct). A dive coaster or a ground up hybrid would both be excellent fits for Great Adventure. Where do you guys think the next major coaster would be placed in the park? -
Upcharge ride for Hurricane Harbor
Gyrotron replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in My Ideas For The Park
I honestly would be happy to see it in the main park, it'd be a great fit for the Boardwalk! I agree that the lines could become problematic, but if there was an eventual overhaul of the Boardwalk (i.e. remove Twister, maybe ship off Green Lantern with the Rougarou treatment to La Ronde) I think some posh new flats would be great. There was that Zamperla Big WaveZ that would also be perfect for the Boardwalk. -

I agree. Seeing that ground-up hybrids are becoming more common (e.g. Zadra, some of Iron Gwazi's main structure, ArieForce One), it's possible that Six Flags will get in on that. Especially considering B&M price tags are back on the table. -

Six Flags Additions for 2023 (Not Great Adventure)
Gyrotron replied to Medusa42's topic in Industry Rumors
It has a very generic layout, could it also be relocated somewhere else on a flat pad of land? That would be interesting! -
Six Flags Additions for 2023 (Not Great Adventure)
Gyrotron replied to Medusa42's topic in Industry Rumors
It's pretty difficult (if not impossible) to know for sure what each park would get, especially the smaller ones. Six Flags goes rogue quite often, but the rest of the typical staples seem to have been mass produced already. Whichever parks don't have the Zamperla Discovery would be contenders, but even that has its limit because I doubt something of that scale would be sent to Great Escape. The most recent fads were the Skyline Attraction's Skywarps (which were a failure) and the Tourbillon (I can see more of these being added). The wild card would be to see if another Power Splash gets added anywhere, and that would be huge to see Mack Rides working with Six Flags so actively. With the dive machine heading to SFFT, I think it's safe to say B&M is back in the conversation and we could even see another small scale one arrive in 2023 (not expecting anything of the scale of Nitro, Tatsu, Fury). It would be EPIC to see Great Adventure get a B&M down the road (though surely not in 2023), pushing us to 6 B&Ms. -
That is an interesting take. It's also prime time for a refresh since Covid dampened everything, a little bit of TLC by parks is probably to be expected. It refreshes the current attractions and in some cases, markets as a "new" attraction. It's cheaper than buying new roller coasters!

Likely a red-herring, similar to the movie Scream. Otherwise might as well just unveil the update with that teaser (i.e. say who the killer is in the first scene). Not saying you're wrong, but where would be the fun in something as obvious as that?

Truthfully speaking, I never bought into the membership and I know others the same as myself. We'd prefer to get Wawa or maybe even McDonald's outside the park on the drive out, rather than diverge much more money to a confusing membership with tiers and different perks that didn't really matter to me in the grand scheme of admission to park and parking (which is included in traditional season pass). If I really wanted to eat inside the park, I'm not worried to spend the money on it. I say this since it wasn't even an effort to save money, I just don't feel that I participate in merchandise or in-house food enough to pay so much extra/monthly for a service. I am excited to see what the shake-up brings!

Please no, Green Lantern has had a much shorter life at the park and would be my desired choice of removal. Medusa is one of the park's legacy coasters that helped put Great Adventure on the map, I would be pretty heartbroken to see it leave.

I actually take back what I said in the other thread about it assuredly being a DC character, I think it could still be Medusa (could still make sense given the Instagram post by SFGAdv where it said "Are you team Bizarro or team Medusa?"):

I just want to say it's so nice that Medusa lives on. There were some moments of fear for me that it would be removed since Green Lantern is also in the park (B&M mega looper, even though stand-up). Very happy to see that it will be remaining at the park, it is one of the better rollercoasters! -

I anticipated a re-theme a few months ago! I thought they would go back to Medusa. But, from the recent hints it seems the park will have another DC character. -

Is the park subtly teasing that Bizarro may be rethemed to Medusa again? If so, that’s awesome and would add so much charm to the park. -

A B&M dive machine would be amazing at Great Adventure at some point in the future! If it was past the 300 foot mark (maybe even 290 feet height with a 300 foot drop), it could the "giga" that the park always wanted. It would have to be 55 feet taller than the current record holder (Yukon Striker) to reach 300 feet. Unfortunately, a dive machine of that size would probably not happen though due to the overwhelming price tag. It's exciting to see B&M working with Six Flags again, it gives hope that Great Adventure will see it's SIXTH B&M someday! -
