Yankees99
What was your favorite Enterprise ---the first or second? Rode the first one just a couple of times and rode the second one probably around 20 times.
29yrswithaGApass
Enterprise1 wins my vote just for the space-themed backdrop!
RobertDavid
I like the second one better because it was permanant and didn't look like it could be rolled away at any time. I also liked the landscaping around it.
Tom Cloudkicker
I've enjoyed both incarnations of the Enterprise in my many years visiting Great Adventure; it's this first version I miss the most.
29yrswithaGApass
Several new photos of the original Enterprise have now been added to the Spotlight. Here are some samples:
FlumeOp1974
I vote for the first one. it was big and the sleds were comfotable and roomy. Even thou the load was mostly 2 oper car. Lots of time there were 3.As long as everyone was seated on the cushion. And I know this for a fact my Mom and uncle and i did it. And i was 23 yrs old. I miss all of fun Fair really. 29yrswithaGApass
Not many people saw this view in the park, It is the original enterprise from behind the ride, taken from the Garden of Eatin' in 1976
grounds75
I was at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY at the end of August. Ran into an old friend. New version, but still looks the same.
scott
The Enterprise is a classic I would welcome back to the park. I think I had a spin on it every time I went to the park. That and the Round Up. The Swashbuckler is still the round up to me.

Mr.Anarchy
When the park first opened there was no music in the park but this original enterprise had a star trek type of song on replay. Can anyone back me up on this?

Can anyone back me up on this? unfortunately, in some places in the park, today they blast music, like as you approach Best of the West
Yankees99
They used to play the Star Trek theme (at the original ride location) prior to the ride getting ready to begin. I remember when the Enterprise got moved heading into the 1979 season, I was on line to ride it and there were two or three guys ahead of us who had Star Trek shirts (the ones you saw on the original TV show). I haven't been to GA since 1983, but prior to that the only music you heard in the park came from Musik Express, the Carousel and any concert taking place at the Arena in Best of the West. Isn't it funny how us old-timers here get all fired up talking about the old days of the park? I mean we can remember what we did 40 years ago at GA, but can't remember what we did 40 minutes ago. Ain't that the truth. I still remember details going to GA for the first time in 1979 on a high school trip, but can't remember what I ate for dinner the other night. 29yrswithaGApass
New retro photo from June 1975. Not sure what the plywood panels are near the ride or why those fences are there.
