GAcoaster
Writing up this spotlight I just think about how sad it is they've let all that theme stuff go over time. They really took a generic restaurant and turned it into a theme experience. That's what they did with the whole park, and that's why they were drawing 4 million guests a year. It had little to do with the big rides and more to do with the unique experience.
29yrswithaGApass
Back in 1993 when I took the series of construction shots I remember thinking to myself that the park was about to get a fourth major restaurant. In the beginning is was very popular and really did feel like you were dining on a movie set. I always thought they should have enclosed it and made it an indoor air conditioned restaurant. MarioSonic94
The second concept painting showed that a Superman phone booth was supposed to be one of the props in the restaurant. Was this supposed to be the same one that stands by the Justice League store today?

29yrswithaGApass
This doesn't have much to do with the Commissary, but does anyone remember this famous HBO introduction? They should have shown this on monitors at the HBO Commissary!
