29yrswithaGApass
No one got this one! ANSWER: True! As you can read in the 1974 newspaper article below, logs actually tipped on two seperate occasions. Boy, how times have changed... today lawyers would be swarming the guests even before they were dry! In 1974, they simply went to the park's first aid station. 29yrswithaGApass
I think we would of heard of that here before. That is probably true. It was something that we just learned when we received this old newspaper article. You learn something new each day!
ThemeParkRider
This is a bit off topic but I'm not sure what the article means. Is there a diagram or somehting?
GAcoaster
It sounds like there was a problem with the alignment of the trough somehow, or water just built up somewhere more than it was supposed to. The only way I can picture this happening is on the final drop. If that bottom trough was full of water, the boat would hit it really hard and that could cause it to roll. The logs barely float most of the time, but in a lot of water they would become top heavy and could tip over. You can see how easy it is to tilt them while it is floating in the trough, but then the wheels hit the bottom and it's fine. If the water was deeper the wheels wouldn't make contact and the boat could tip just like a canoe. That could explain the watering off holes and the side fence spillway along the trough at the end:
ThemeParkRider
Thanks! That makes a lot of sense and I can totally visualize that. Now the bottum is never full. lol Edited January 16, 2010 by ThemeParkRider
29yrswithaGApass
I don't have a clue where this occurred but I pictured it at the bottom of the second lift where all the water builds up.

Turbo Bounce, you can get off earlier if you wanted too. I know that there are more that I am missing.
gafreak
The Haunted Castle was a walk through attration and not a ride, im going to have to say that the FMTTM because the operator has to open the doors after the film had stopped.also im thinkig maybe traffic jam was one also. and the great train ride because the operator drove the train so he decide how long the ride would be
ThemeParkRider
FMTTM? What's that?
CablesEric
On Dare Devil Dive, dont you decide when to let go. You decide when to start by pulling the rip cord. The crew decides when to stop you.

29yrswithaGApass
ANSWER: Riders on the Paddle Boats determined when exactly their ride was going to end although a 30 minute max was suggested. Guests where suppose to keep their eyes on a clock which was placed on the dock to remind them of how long they were floating about.
29yrswithaGApass
QUESTION #199: The photo below is from the Foghorn Follies puppet show which was presented in a ship-shaped puppet theater in the King's Sandbox in Kiddie Kingdom in the early 80's. What song is the puppet singing? (No, really... that is the question! )

Guests where suppose to keep their eyes on a clock which was placed on the dock to remind them of how long they were floating about. The Sylvester Scooters were also self determined. Since hardly anyone rode them it meant you could ride as long as you wanted (which wasn't very long for most people).
