joeyc98
I noticed this year that King Cobra also has two person rafts. I'm assuming that, with the weight limit, they would only allow kids to go together.
29yrswithaGApass
I am not sure if they discontinued the double rafts for a while but they had them back when the ride opened in 2012 (see below). You are right - they would have to be for two kids (or two skinny adults!)
jdc12192
Gah!! The baby sealion is so cute.
29yrswithaGApass
The baby and the mom sea lion were talking up a storm! She was trying to convince the baby to get in the water and it would just stick its head under and then pop back out. At one point the mom was "off shore" and jerking her head back like "common already!".
jdc12192
From the pictures it looks like Ella(mom) and Riddley, but after that statement it could've been Dichali(mom) and Piper. I have heard they just bark at eachother all the time. Can't wait to go see them.
Yankees99
Excellent photos. Did they take out the Roundup? I didn't see it on that one photo when you are approaching the station. The cable cars look so small on the Skyride compared to the original ones. Also, are all four tents still being occupied? I used to buy most of my souvenirs in the tents. 29yrswithaGApass
Thanks! The Roundup is still in the park across from the Buccaneer ride now (named Swashbuckler). All four tents are still in use. One is an arcade, two are stores, and the fourth (the red and white one) was just used for an encore of the Great Adventure History Museum. Yankees99
Thanks. I just saw it on the park map. How's it going with the museum? What I would give to have seen that in person.
29yrswithaGApass
We only did it for a three day encore this year when the ACEr convention was in town but we got really nice feedback. There were a lot of requests for it to go permanent at the park.
Pineracer
Good thing, a lot of buildings are getting used again. Bad thing, it will not be economical till the solar farm is built (if ever) so the price of electrical goes down.
robertleax
I noticed this year that King Cobra also has two person rafts. I'm assuming that, with the weight limit, they would only allow kids to go together. I wonder if the would let 1 adult (who is 230 lbs) and 1 child (who is 120 lbs) to go on it. Its under the 2 person weight limit, but don't know if it will affect the ride being so off balance.
29yrswithaGApass
The combined weight of the two riders in a double tube needs to be under 200 pounds.
robertleax
When I was there Sunday I could have sworn the sign said the max weight of a single tube rider was 220 lbs (I remember saying to my son I only have to lose 10 more lbs) and the max weight of the double tube was 440 lbs combined. I did noticed I saw couples going down that easily weighted more than 200 lbs combined. I have to recheck that sign again. I did remember when it 1st opened the weight max was 200 lbs and the web site also says 200 lbs but I even remember my son saying that we should go on it because we weighted less than 440lbs together. And it was in the morning that we saw the sign (before I had a few beers at the bar).
29yrswithaGApass
Well, if it was BEFORE the beer,,,, They must have changed it recently. I know it was 200 lb at the start of the season. Knock off those 10 and you are all set!
nbadude44
Awesome pictures, I also went to the park yesterday and I'll post my own pictures soon. We basically took some of the same photos anyway.
KK456
Are there any of your classic hints for next year's attraction?
Yankees99
What's going on over at Aqua Stadium? Also, it's so strange seeing shots now from atop the Giant Wheel over toward "Movietown" and not seeing a lot of rides like there used to be when it was "Fun Fair." 29yrswithaGApass
What's going on over at Aqua Stadium? It appears its days may be numbered.
Yoshi
Great pictures. The Santa set up in the park is a nice reminder that there is still 5 1/2 months left in the operating calendar this year.
29yrswithaGApass
^Thanks. 5 1/2 months is hard to believe. It still hasn't set in for me yet that the park will be open until January. That is so cool! The off-season only lasting three months sounds wonderful.
Railer
I'm going to have to ask a family friend that has worked in the Wharehouse for about 17yrs now how he feel's about the shorter off-season. From their viewpoint they may not be happy about it, i know he always collect's unemployment bene's then. They probably enjoy the off-time. truepolak90
It seems like the park has been doing generally well this season.
29yrswithaGApass
Last time we did SORA the bison looked most impressive. It almost looked like they were staged.
Daved Thomson
Do you happen to know if it's typical that they shed their coats in the Summer? Just guessing, but it would seem logical. Can you imagine what they'd be like in that heat with a heavy coat on them?
