29yrswithaGApass
The attendance figures are out for 2015 from the Themed Entertainment Association. You can view the report HERE.According to the report, Disney is up 2.7%, Merlin up 0.2%, and Universal up 11.8%. Six Flags is up 11.4%, Cedar Fair is up 4.9%, and SeaWorld Parks is up 0.3%.Once again, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Great Adventure made the top 20 North America parks at spots 18 and 19 respectively. Great Adventure was up 9% with attendance breaking the 3 million mark with 3,052,000..Six Flags Hurricane Harbor NJ came in at number 15 in NA water parks with a 4% increase to 440,000 guests. Yoshi
It's nice to see Great Adventure get over 3 million visitors. I guess Holiday in the Park helped with that. It is also good to see Hurricane Harbor in the top 20 when so many water parks above it have a longer operating season, I think the only 2 parks above 15 with a similar season are Splish Splash and Water Country USA. IBOK
I hope the HH numbers give them incentive to expand even more. They could build an exact replica of the first and still have massive crowds at both.
GAcoaster
Interesting in the water park data that the two biggest attendance increases are Camelbeach (30.8%) and Splish Splash (21.9%). That shows there's still huge growth potential in the market that if Hurricane Harbor really were to expand they could still bring in more. Also, if you combine the attendance of HH and GA you get 3,492,000 versus Hershey's 3,267,000 (they have combined waterpark and theme park), you see that GA really would come out on top if they had made HH part of the park (at least in theory).
