Yoshi
South of the Border is a definition of a tourist trap to me. I rememer around 5 or 6 years ago we stopped to use the restrooms there and everything was so run down and in bad shape. There was actually a wedding going on at the hotel. Even if the coaster they had was running, I don't think I would trust it. Still, I always look forward to seeing it since it means we are over half way to WDW. Yankees99
This would be a great ride to bring back. One of my all-time favorites. Anybody ever steal any light bulbs? Edited September 12, 2011 by Yankees99

29yrswithaGApass
One of our readers submitted this classic photo of the Schwabinchen! Very colorful! Photo Courtesty of Doug Moon
29yrswithaGApass
Wow, after getting this new shot I now realize that I had forgotten about some of the details on the Schwabinchen's backdrop. This picture was taken in August 1982.
GAcoaster
That's a great shot, and also I love seeing the guest in the foreground with the poster map. I think most people forget that for a while that used to be the ONLY type of maps in the park and you had to buy them (or just use the maps in the map boxes around the park). 29yrswithaGApass
I just ran across this photo that I took at Cedar Point back in June 2007. This Schwabinchen figure was hand carved and available in their woodworker's shop. Cedar Point once had the same model ride as Great Adventure. 29yrswithaGApass
Our El Sombrero looked much better than Six Flags Over Texas' version.
29yrswithaGApass
Here are two "new" views of the Schwabinchen that show off the ride's ornate backdrop. I always loved the two clock towers.
