Yoshi
It will be interesting to see if is a coaster or something else. Dorney is long overdue for a new coaster or anything on the ride side of the park.
Medusa42
Here are the plans for Dorney Park. It looks like this could be a small B&M Dive machine. https://www.southwhitehall.com/home/showpublisheddocument/2844
GAcoaster
Interesting-- beating GA to the punch. I was really thinking a small B&M Dive Coaster like the one they built at SFFT was coming to GA for the 50th...
Yoshi
If that is what it ends up being, that is a good addition. There are so many rides at Dorney that I feel like Hershey or Great Adventure have better versions of. When I ride Hydra, I'd rather be riding Bizarro, or when riding Steel Force I'd rather be riding Candymonium or Nitro, Comet instead of Thunderhawk. It will give something unique (for the area) to Dorney. Dive Machine coasters seem to be a hit with most parks too. When I ride Sheikra, I always hear comments about how much people liked it and see a lot of people go right back for another lap.
GAcoaster
Screamscape's mention of Hangtime at Knotts was interesting. https://rcdb.com/15413.htm That would be less expensive than a B&M and it used the same size plot that Dorney has. Yoshi
Not an addition and more of a subtraction but Carowinds and Kings Dominion gave up on year round operations and now are both opening in March. I guess the attendance didn't justify staying open. It reminds me of what Adventure Island did 2 years ago. They announced they would be open all year with the pools being heated and I don't think they stayed open the entire 2021 winter before going back to a schedule of March - late October/early November. https://www.kingsdominion.com/calendar-and-hours https://www.carowinds.com/calendar-and-hours
GAcoaster
Yeah, not too surprising. January/February the weather is just too iffy to justify spending on staffing and to lose the off season maintenance window.
