  1. Nice pics. I haven't been down there in about 3yrs. My family bought a place in Mystic Island so we don't go to Diamond Beach anymore. Great White is one of my favorite rides, I love the drop right out of the station. And the Morey family are masters at squeezing in alot of rides in a small space. There is a group that is pushing for a re-opening of the Golden Nugget ride. I went on it when I was little and it was alot of fun. The new wood coaster design that is on the net for the Morey's piers looks awesome. A coaster that occupies two piers will be something to see. It still makes me sad that Castle Dracula is gone. That was the best thing down there. The walkthrough and the Dugeon Boat Ride were classic, and it's a shame they are gone. I will dig up some old pics. from Wildwood and put em' up. *R*

  2. About a Half hour. the water rides had the longest line's in the park. Congo Rapids line was almost at the entrance to the que. Everything else that I went on was really quick, but the newer coasters all had long lines except Nitro. For some reason it was only at the bottom of the steps. But I skipped it today, I went retro only.

  3. I ran over to the park after work today to see what's going on and grab a couple of rides. The park was pretty crowded for a Wed. when school is still in. A couple of rides were closed, Jolly Roger and the play ship in Wiggles World. The sign for Branches is not in the Golden Kingdom or the Lakefront anymore. I Don't know if the show is gone, or just the sign. I hope it's just the sign. There is some work going on at the Lakefront. It looks like a new electrical conduit or work on an old one. It is on the left side of the lake behind Bugs Bunny National Park. I noticed Best Of The West offers a free Cell Phone charge, I am not sure if this is new or not but I just noticed the sign. Other than that it was pretty much buisness as usual at the park. I went "Old School' today with my ride selection. Log Flume to start, Rolling Thunder then over to Scream Machine. And I ended the day with Skull Mountain. One more thing, I hope you all picked up one of those Kingda Ka numberd picture frames (Thank's Tom) Because they are gone. I looked in both shop's in The Golden Kingdom and they are nowhere to be found. I threw up a few pics. in my gallery. *R*

  4. This is one I miss alot. I had a couple things I really liked about this ride. The long ground level ride you had before the lift, for some reason when I was little it made it feel more like a "real" boatride, I quess because you weren't in fiberglass the whole time. And the drop, with the hump at the bottom. That always gave a bigger splash and it was delayed till' after you landed from the jump. And the sound was diffrent too, you would hear the rumble when it was coming down the drop and when it hit the ramp it it was real quiet for a second until it hit the water and then a big splash. I always remember it as the bigger flume in the park, because it was the one I "graduated" up to after I went on the Log Flume when I was little. And it will always be the Moon Flume to me and I always called it that through all the name changes. I'm just glad I took my older daughter on it the last year it ran, and it was her first flume ride ever also so it made it little more special. *R*

  5. Does anyone know if Six Flags still has their own brand of backyard water slides? (Like those inflatable Banzai slides) They were around last year or the year before but I have not seen them this year in stores. I know Toys "R" Us used to carry them. Attendance is dropping off in my Backyard Six Flags and the park needs a new attraction. And if I am going to get one of those slides it want to get a Six Flags one. :Mickeymorph:

  6. In case anyone did not know, the park is staying open later every week this month. This week it closes at 7:00, next week at 8:00 and the following week 10:00. That is the week the parade starts running nightly. *R*

  7. The slimyness was from the amount of people. It usually clears up the next day. Just think of every hair product you can think of, multiplied by a few hundred heads. Same was for the wave pool. Too many people in a lazy river or wave pool is disgusting. That's why if you go, go early then leave after a few hours. I don't even want to think about how many little kids are going to the bathroom in the pool's and what's inside that pus filled thing on the other guy's back. I can be very gross. :puke:

  8. Well, our plan was to go to the Safari first then Hurricane Harbor, but every one but me ended up sleeping a little late so the Safari didn't happen today. On a hot day like today alot of the animals are not very active anyway, so no big deal. The water park was great from about 11:00 when we arrived there to about 1:30, after that it was very crowded. I don't know about you but a packed Wave Pool is not my thing. When the water starts getting cloudy from the amount of people in there, it's time to go. The park looked great, tropicals everywhere the island music playing, It's easy to forget your in Jackson N.J. The one section of Discovery Bay was still closed. The attendant standing there said hopefully it will open today, but most likely tommorrow. All the other slides and activities were up and running and they needed them to be, when we left around 2:30 it was mobbed and there were still people coming in to the park. That place really needs a few new attractions. A new slide, another wave pool, and a new activity area like Discovery Bay would be perfect. With the amount of people in there this early in the season, crowds will be an issue that needs to be addressed. Slimy water in a lazy river is not a good thing. There really is not alot to tell about the park that wasn't coverd already on this site. My family and I had a great time and it was a good day till' the crowds became to large, so it was time to go. I did get a hand stamp so maybe I'll hit up the Theme Park after my kids get to sleep. *R*

  9. I ran to the park for a quick ride or two tonight, and it was a pretty good night. I arrived around 7:00 and alot of guests were leaving as I was walking in. Park looked good, all rides were up and running. I had walk on's on Batman, Skull Mountain & Rolling Thunder Right (front row) I think I really like that ride again, after all these years it's still alot of fun. Nitro was down for a little while they were running empty trains when I got to the park, so I had a 15min. wait since a line had built up. There is a brown temporary fence up to the right of Houdini's entrance, it looks like they removed part of the iron fence that is normally there. Don't know what is happening there, but some kind of work is going on there , maybe it will be open alot sooner than we all thought. (hopefully) One of those new scrolling signs by Movietown is already broken (stopped half way through an ad) And the giant turtles (Fred & Wilma) are out in the Golden Kingdom. I will be going to the Safari at opening tommorrow then to Hurricane Harbor for the day. I will post another Trip Report when we get back tommorrow. I put a pic of the Houdini fence in my gallery. *R*

  10. QUESTION #21:

True or False: In an effort to be like Disney, for three brief weeks in the summer of 1993 Time Warner's Bob Pittman opened a working Barber Shop under the Great Lake Grandstands. Although the sign advertised 5 chairs, only two were ever installed. It was meant to imitate the Barber Shop found on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom.

I an not positive, but I will say true. Because they would not have put up the no eating, drinking or smoking sign if guest's were never in there. But now that all of you reminded me about Beachcombers my reasoning means nothing. But I will still say true.
