  1. True in 1974, and 75. Even though there was a employee gate further down 537.
  2. Actually no they dont. Disney meal deals dont. None of them do. After youve used it a few times Your eatting free. And the Parks come to count on your "other" purchases. Example you pay 60.00 bucks for a pass. And then amother 25.00 for the dinning, and parking pass 25.00. total outlay 110.00 Daily guest paying full boat Parking 25.00, gate 60.00. food Lunch, dinnner, snacks, drinks another 50.00, plus odds and ends 60.00..They just spent 210.00 for one person. take away parking and add 3 for your average family were at a total outlay 480.00. in just one day. And thats not even with a flashpass.
  3. I really dont mind anything new. Coaster,Flat, Show...Its all good. Progress is a good thing, But my biggest beef. Is that while doing this much of what made us great in the beginning is slowly being taken away. SOme of the things that make other parks great is while introducing new. Then also rehab and relocate their old as well. CP does it, Removes attractions only to have them rehabed and the return them to serve. Kennywood does, Holiday World, to name a few. What ever were getting. It will be a draw for how long who knows. ANd seeing how were out of the one upum game for a while. Off the shelf thank-you. kinda park. Hello Larson, anything new? Focus needs to return to the park it self. Land scaping, Lighting, Buildings, creating a place that guests want to go do. (not talking Ive taken 20 rides on this, 10 on that,) Im talking to see a show, eat and spend money not what can I get for my meal pass.Or Im bringing my 32 oz refill. All that shouldnt matter. It does not help the bottom line. Example for every 24 oz Coke product Disney sells that you pay 3.25 for Disney makes 3 Bucks. Same with pop corn Orvel gives them the carts and pop corn, and they sell it for 2.50 and make 2.25 on each one sold, Before I get yelled at here. Im all for seasons passes. Dinning meals Etc. But come on everyone every now and then spend a buck. spend a day as a guest. Ive always have had the passes but also eat in the park, bought drinks, and goodies. Beacuse this is were they make there profilt to inprove the park. Just my last thought on this subject.
  4. I dont agree. And so do many others. For the simple fact the Lakes protected. And the grass and trees protected it from run off form the park. This was a major battle years ago. About set backs from the lake. So that said then there would be no lake side viewing area for the fire works if it was removed. Rehab it to serve a few things Viewing for Fire works, small concerts, Holloween stage shows. Build up the front with snack stands. Etc.
  5. Ok heres a guess. I do belive the the wooded area behind YumYum has to stay in place. From the way I understood it it acgs a barrier protecting from run off. And one of the reasonable factors set up with the EPA fo the parks construction. Now I inderstand that SF owns the lake now. But I do belive it still needs to be preserved in its natural state. ANd the treed shore line preserved. Before anyone jumps. Lets think about it weve had the lake for a long time. And nothing has been built in that area. running from the log flume to nitro. ita all trees and grass. whit glimps of the lake. There was muched planed for that lake over the years and nothing ever came of it. With the exception of the Ski Show. So heres my thoughts yes we will get a new attraction in the area. Grand Stand; Removal. Attraction: Maunfacter; S&S Model 4D Free Spin 130 Foot Print 280ftx36 Fort Inpendance; Rehab-Remove Tank and Diving Platforms. fill in and build stage. use for Fire Works and Live and Local and Smaller Concert Draws Just a though but a pretty good one.
  6. Ok here we go. The Fort is hereto stay. it was built for the sky ride and Runnyaway Mine Train. ANd if and this is a big if. A new coaster is planned for RMT it will more then likey be a replacement Mine train Family Coaster. Theres lots companys the build them.
  7. I think its up to the 'park" to change that out look. Sure most Tweens dont go to shows but adults and children do. Children enjoy animal shows. Having worked for Busch I dont remember at any point their sea lion show not being packed to the top of the theater. Or seeing in a high Dive show and not seeing it packed as well. At Dutch Wonderland. ANd dont tell Dolly that shows dont count. But the point is wasted really. If shows are so as pointed out of non- interest lets kill the Great Arena as well. Funny thou we all wish the Glow in The Dark Parade was still with us. And the Batman stunt show. And weve all been begging for a show in the Music Hall. So I dont think its the lack of guest interest as much as mangments lack of interest. I did have high hopes after seeing the clean up and restoration act done on Yum Yum and Grannys...And the introduction of Deablio. I so far have not injected any comment of the lake front rework. But heres my 2 cents. Im hopping they do remove the old Ski Show Steadium. ANd give everyone there Spin Coaster although Im a fan of the smaller one. Sounds like less issues. And that the Fort Independance is just up for a rework of some kind. As a local talent stage and Fireworks Viewing area.
  8. Ok Ill try again. its the first launch of the Great Adventure Balloon in Central Park. And the press release of Great Adventure being built.
  9. Fantastic find! We should be so lucky again. And with the seating capacity of each youd be looking at a lot of guests not in the park proper.
  10. It think . That was the preview day. We opened the park to the people of Jackson, NJ. only.
  11. Great news Harry! They really should find it a home in the park. And have it all year..with changing exibits,,,,,
  12. Ill go with Itmann Spin Coaster...And my bets are placement in Old Country. I belive the Aqua Stedium will remain. But either as a reguler show venue. Local band type of thing. Or the Otters.....Show. Temple will be converted in to a small animal viewing area.
  13. Nope wasnt dish soap. That breaks down in cold water.
  14. Well no. It would be the whole crew. At least the ones who were working that shift. And have a no rehire placed on their file.
  15. KK thats a easy anwser. During its early yearss the water level was higher and the flume operatered a lot faster. The dip was called spill way. It also ran with four pumps on the attraction. It took lots of water and it had to be moving at a high rate to make the dip. ther was no roll backs to stop the logs from going in reverse back down. And Valleying. So when they did the safety rehab the dip was removed.
  16. ^^^Agree^^^ We have hints of a theme park..but little else...Its odd that Feista Texas gets shows, cohesive themes, and is well thought out. Were as we the cash cow of the chain. loose all thats been stated over and over again. Trees gone, flower beds gone, shows, gone, (Not talking concerts and small acts here and there) Talking real entertainment, sit down and watch and listen for 35 mins. Decent food in our three major restaurants. And please kill the piped in music...or turn it down to back ground level...And this is my own thought here on the lake fromt...I belive it has to stay as is for water in the lake..and run off form the park itself.I maybe wrong...but we neve did see all the ships and boats that were to don the lake and waterways in the park. even the old paddle boats were confind to the little slip between the flumes course.
  17. Think Ill add my two cents here. In the beginning were Superman sits was forrest. the only built sturture was the Admin. tent. When we reported to work there was a employee lot about 75 feet back from the tent and the enployee parking lot.. then more trees before the general guest lot. Bring in 1975, land clear and retain trees for Fun Fair expansion. as well as Moon Flume, Balloonland placed behind Moon Flume, Fourtain Festival. Leaving again trees around the back of it to the gate area. Large expansions to the park but still retainning as much of the nature as possable. 1976 fisrt full year of Six Flags take over. Expansion again with the new entertrance, Still trees behind the buildings between games. Kiddie Kingdom moved to old tram area. still not visable from parking lot. You see were this is going. Lots of expansion taking place and nature being left to do its thing. Plaza de Carnival built for Rolling Thunder..still good expansion and trees left alone to create natural barriers between themed areas. Old Country installed behind. Main enterance, still treees between it and Old country, and there and Fun Fair. But you all gett the idea. River Adventures, Installed along Gongo, Lightin Loops still in the forrest. The parking lot build up started with Bobsleds, Parachutes, Scream Machine. And thus begain the trend of Parking lot build. For the life of me I dont get why KK hand to be built were it is..There is land and lots of it beyond the Flume for KK and the off Road Adventure, and Eltoro. Superman should have gone in Movietown, Parachute is the only parking lot ride that makes the cut for me. after its the boardwalk, and wellas the go carts. these belong there. But I do agree there was lots of very bad chioces of ride placments. Whish have little to no bearing on the area of placement.
  18. im thinking the Great Arena will be the first to go. It takes up lots of land. And Seeing how it sits 6,000 guest. And the concert series most times ony sees maybe half of it full. That might mean they will shift that to Aqua. seeing how it holds 3,000(?).
  19. Guess not? Dang! Oh well the post is March 24th,2014.
  20. Glad to see its being painted. And ill bet you mentioned my ballon Idea that I stated in My Ideas for The Park...HAy do I get some free be if they do? LOL
  21. Thank-you, Thank- you, thank -you. This has always been one of my favorite Spotlights. It was amazing to be sure. It was always busy. Adults loved it, as well as Hobbiest, ANd if you look close at the photos children seem to be in trached by it. This only proves a point for me and alot of GA fanatics..Who remember when. It isnt all about the rides. In 1974 they used to leave it open till 8:30-9:00 so guest could walk thru it at dusk. With the lights on in the building street lamps lite, Spot lights on the Castle...Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!
