  1. Hey fellow BBB... That is what I do for my inground pool too. We ended leaving the campground for the day and coming home to swim IN MY CLEAN POOL while I did laundry (I'm only about 25 mins away from the campground) lol.. But the pool at this campground, get this, had a vinyl liner. It was all bleached out and huge holes and tears in it from where the ladder feet rested against it and all around the sides and corners. I can't even imagine what a nightmare a commercial pool of that size would be with a liner must be to try to maintain. Perhaps why they threw the towl in?
  2. Yeah the pool at timberland lake was pretty gross by the weekend. Wednesday it was at least clear, but by the weekend and after that we wouldn't go in. So you weren't missing much haha ... I can yell ya turkey swamp does not have a pool. It's quiet though. But not much else going on. Allaire is nice and close , so if you're a tent guy, I would go there. Last time I tent camped it was only 14$ a night. Mind you this was some years ago (I have a large camper now) so I don't know how much it is now. But it's close to beaches, and all the other stuff.
  3. Robert, I was camping at timberland all lake last week! Butterfly campground I hear is nice ((Jackson? I believe) A close friend stayed there with rv and would stay there again. Surf and stream in toms river is a nasty rat hole, don't waste your money/ time. Tip tam I've never been to...would like to check it out too some time. Allaire is great for tent camping... Turkey swamp in freehold is nice too. Bass River is a bit further away down parkway, but it's a beautiful campground as well. I don't know if you're a tent or rv kinda guy... I might be able to better navigate you if I knew..
  4. Young pup I love Halloween. It's my favorite holiday. I don't goto FF because it's too crowded and I am not paying extra for trails. That is why I don't go. Don't assume i don't care. I avoid the park because of the TYPE of crowed that it draws as well. Ga isn't going to make their trails free. Ever. You want free trails goto other parks. Nobody is saying, "yes , we To pay for our trails"! So, again I don't see where you are coming up with "most of us seem to be against the attractions being free". Thanks. 3 full lots that's crazy!!!
  5. I'm hazy, where did anyone say they WANT to pay for trails!?!? Cause I didn't see this post. I too don't go on trails cause I am not paying extra. The park is too crowded and I generally avoid FF .. But the fact is that it would be bad business on GAs part to leave that money sitting on the table because people have just accepted that it costs extra to do trails. Ga is t going to just make it free all of a sudden. And could you imagine if it was all of a sudden free? The already overcrowded park would be redic. I am sure there must be a limit they can legally let in? Has it ever gotten to that point? Anyone know?
  6. ^ they couldn't do anything with RT other than tear it down. It was too far rotted and neglected once they decided to really look at it. Maintence isn't exactly the parks strong suit. I was sad it had been allowed to deteriorate beyond salvagability too, but it is what it is. It wasn't a decision as to "nah let's not iron horse it" , it was "sh!t, it's got to come down cause of all the rot".
  7. Omg I hate that conisseures (or however it's spelled) page anymore. Everyone on there thinks they know everything and nothing but a bunch of smart asses. It's gotten obnoxious. Ooh careful what you say, you might get blocked..ohhh. Rant over.
  8. You did not wait for nitro for 6 hrs.... Stop it.
  9. We have plenty of sunny days. More and more houses are putting solar panels on their roofes and have ya not seen all the solar farms popping up??? There are 3 of them alone in a 5 mile radius of me.
  10. Yeah they did. We were in the "oh sh*t you're getting 2 ft of snow band" and we got about 8 inches here in Brick (coastal central nj)
  11. Bet it would have looked as pretty Saturday (had our tour not been cancelled $&@?!$&) I was so bummed. But it was awesome to meet you Harry and shake your hand!!
  12. Ooh love the idea of HH being open late in the summer. They close well before dark, it's silly. There's tons of lights throughout the park
  13. I don't do up charge rides either, so I haven't been on any of those. And I haven't been on twister or superman. I know, no superman!? The GD line is always so long ,when it is operating ,on the days I'm there that it's just not been worth it for me. From what I hear I'm not missing much. I'll get on it, I promise!
  14. I hate carrying the cup around with me...specially cause we only refill it with water (don't judge me!! We prefer water) . I still buy it every year though. I does bother me to leave it behind in those cup holders cause I'm waiting for someone to accidentally grab it. And also as far as the dining plan goes I wish they had a smaller dining plan. Like a single meal per day plan. I never eat in the park 2x in one day because we live close by. But I would definitely buy a Jr. Dining Plan (see even a catchy name!)
  15. Yep I hate the over done ads in the park too. I really dislike the takis on skull mountain, stupid hulking banner across El toro, which already had the cars wrapped with Kia ads, so it's double ad over kill. I dislike the fluorescent wrapped RMT train ads too. I do like the m&m sky ride and the Kia cars aren't that bad on el toro .. They are low key for the most part. And yes to the above who said they hated the welches sails in HH as well. I cannot stand looking at them and actually shook my head in disgust every time we went there this summer.
  16. ^ I'm with you. Those kinds of crowds suck. Lines are horrendous.. Takes hours to leave at the end of the night. No thanks.
  17. I also agree we don't need another big/record breaking/what-have-you coaster right yet. I would really like to see more flats and some fun, thrilling family rides. My kids are 7&10 so the lil one is too short (but willing) and the older one is scared (but tall enough for all the rides) and there isn't anything left now that RT is gone as an intermediate coaster or really too much in general that we can all go on that's fun. Buccaneer is great as is skull mountain. I loved RT even as an adult and we all love the Phoenix at Knoebels ...it's a great coaster. They don't have to be the highest craziest thing ever built to be awesome. I would love to see an Enterprise type of ride or dark ride or something along those lines. I do love me some coasters, don't get me wrong....but I think there are more important things than "record breaking coasters" needed at this juncture. And FYI I do consider GL new...I just don't care for it cause it gives me such a headache /neck ache after.
  18. ^ I do the same! I would totally buy a sticker and put my user name on it
  19. ^ Yep. Although , no El Toro caused quite a stir.... I don't think there are quite as many broken hearts for Superman
  20. Great trip report Brian... Almost like I was there. Oh wait I was!! Lol Had fun with you again this year!
  21. Can't be a horror for q? Whatevs.. Queen of the damned. I've never seen any other Q movies?!
