2016 and Beyond Speculation at SFGA
SFGadv123 replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in The Future of the Park
Even when they have 3 trains running on Green Lantern it doesn't matter because by the time they are ready to dispatch one the other trains are already on the brake run ready to go back in the station. -

Not possible. Six Flags promises that every year each park will get something. Whether is be a new coaster, new flat ride, or something small like a new food place or something they promise they will give us something new every year. -

I think the colors for Nitro are fine, just paint it over with the same colors. Even if all they painted was the pre drop before the lift hill that would be fine cause that area looks horrendous. -
Could Green Lantern become a floorless like Mantis?
SFGadv123 replied to sixflagsdude101's topic in The Future of the Park
So did Rolling Thunder, but we all know how that turned out. -

I would definitly love to have something like Maverick as it is one of my favorite rides I have ever been on. It would also attract a lot of people I would think too. Although you said it would be the only launched coaster at sfga, I think you forgot about kingda ka. -

I also don't understand why people don't count Green Lantern as a new coaster. I am sure that 99.9% of the people that when to six flags the first year GL was there had never been on it when it was in Kentucky. If it was a ride coming for Hershey or Dorney or somewhere close, then maybe you have somewhat an argument of it not being new. Before a new coaster the park needs either a water ride or a dark ride along with a couple more flats. After they do that they should get a coaster. -

I have been on I-305 and it was an awesome ride.It would be awesome for the park to get a ride like that. Skyrush is the most painful coaster I have ever been on. All three times I have been on it it crushed my legs so bad I couldn't enjoy the ride. -
The pictures I see don't look good. The part of the lift hill that was on fire collapsed, so they will have to replace that wood. I guess we can expect it to open later than planned.

Top 10 wooden: http://www.goldenticketawards.com/top-10-wood-coasters-of-2014/ Top 10 steel: http://www.goldenticketawards.com/top-10-steel-roller-coasters-of-2014/ Park and ride winners: http://www.goldenticketawards.com/2014-park-ride-winners/ Highlights Boulder Dash wins #1 woodie again. beating El Toro (which came 2nd) Nitro drops to 5th for steel coasters, and Millenium Force (no surprise) comes in first. Very shocking, after 16 consecutive years for best amusement park, Cedar Point loses to Europa-Park in Germany.

Yeah it was pretty disappointing last year. To be specific The Manor was awful. Really short (only around a couple minutes long) and there were probably like 5 or 6 people there to scare you. And I waited over an hour for it. Anyway the season pass thing is a great deal, only 2 trails to get your moneys worth.

Indeed it has. The worst part is at the pre drop, at that part the track actually looks disgusting. Batman could also use a paint job but not as bad. Batman would be more likely though cause it has much less track to be covered. Although the real issue is the parking lot, and before repainting any rides repaving the lot should be the top priority. -

A giga coaster can easily be put over the lake if they knock down Fort Independence. and the station would go there. They could even have the coaster go underwater which would be awesome. The view from the top would be insane. That would cost a lot of money to do i'm sure so I would say if that happened they would need to take another "off" year in 2016 to add another smaller, less expensive attraction, and then the giga over the lake would come in 2017, and I would be fine with waiting an extra year for that. -

How do you guys think the crowds will be on Tuesday. I haven't been all year and was thinking of going. -
How do you feel about today's 2015 new attraction announcement?
SFGadv123 replied to hollyferry's topic in The Park Today
SIgning the petition will do nothing. They probably have already started marking the foundation and stuff for the ride. It has already been decided and there is nothing you can do. You can get 100,000 signatures and they still won't care. I'm sure all the pieces for the ride are already made. They aren't just going to cancel the ride and send it somewhere else. -

If the park got a wing rider it would replace Bizarro, because as people said and what was said by RC98 is they would be very similar, but wing riders give more of a thrill because you aren't over the track your on the sides. I do like the idea of a free spin as that would give a whole new experience that the park has never gotten. An RMC really is very different from el toro so I say a good chance that an RMC comes to the park in 2017. Next year will be the dark ride in the old simulator building which is what GAcoaster just said a few posts above. I do think that the park will get a wing rider eventually, but that would be in either 2018 or 2019, and as I said would replace Bizarro. -

Well use the term "make room" loosely, as I used it more of what their excuse would be to get rid of Bizarro. -

I honestly don't think next year will be a new coaster. They are putting one in for 2015 (as they call it), and they really are against putting a new coaster in 2 years in a row. Lets go through about the last 15 years. 1999 - Medusa (Bizarro) 2001 - Nitro 2003 - Superman: Ultimate Flight 2005 - Kingda Ka 2006 - El Toro 2008 - The Dark Knight 2011 - Green Lantern 2015 - Looping Dragon Mostly every other year. So I say that next year they go with an Interactive Dark Ride, and then we will have to wait to get our major coaster in 2017, possibly a B&M wing rider, which they will send Bizarro to another park to "make room" for. -
Yeah I really don't see why it would take so long to put up. I bet they won't even start construction for this ride until january. It really is pathetic marketing it as a coaster. They just want to do that since it is in rolling thunder's spot, so people can't complain, "why didn't you replace rt with a coaster?" They can say that they did, though we all know they really didn't and it is just a stupid carnival ride.
