  1. I was out in cali in the beginning of June! I loved knotts!!!! I have photos I still need to upload, but if you go to a cedar fair park and it's crowded fast pass was a great investment!! You just walk up all the exits, helped me get Everything done x3!! California is BEAUTIFULL!
  2. I love these spotlights! It's amazing to see how drastically the park changed over the years. I wish they'd finally knock that paintball building down and make a straight path to the western side of the park.
  3. I would love to see a Pony express type of ride that Knotts Berry Farm has, it's a great family ride and a very different type of coaster experience. I found it to be enjoyable and different in a good way.
  4. One thing I forgot to mention is how kingda ka operators were telling people to fill in all empty seats, and green lantern crew was telling people to try to hurry because the ride was stacking. This is something that needs to happen on ALL the rides because it makes a big difference in how fast dispatches go!
  5. I missed Houdini on my last trip! I have to make sure I go on next time. It seems like you guys had a great day!
  6. No problem! My friend hasn't Been on it yet so I had to let her try it, this ride was much better then the one I had last year on it, but unfortunately stand ups aren't friendly on my legs. I need to get in shape lol.
  7. I have to thank the gold flash pass for my trip ( my friend refuses to wait in lines) so she coughed up the money for it. And taking the pictures on the big wheel mad me nervous being that high with my phone out. It was a great day!
  8. So today was my real first trip of the season. (Went to process my pass last time) Ride Count Black Beard Air Jumbo Sky Screamer Nitro Batman the ride The Dark Knight Deja Vu Skull Mountain Kingda Ka El Toro (x2) Rolling Thunder (both sides) Bizarro (x2) Runaway Train Green Lantern Superman Slingshot Dare Devils Dive (x2) Tango Big Wheel The new rides really make a big difference with the park experience, I loved Sky Screamer and Deja Vu! Im looking foward to Fender Benders (no progress yet). Rolling thunder was experiencing issues on the left side with the buzz bars, but they got it fixed pretty quickly. Bizarro, Nitro, and Green Lantern were running 3 Trains. Rolling Thunder was racing and had all four trains running. Sky ride opened around 6, only one side was running. Slingshot was 2 for 25$ but the ride cycle only flipped you once. Overall had a great day, we ended the night with doing a double take on dare devils dive because of the coupon, and I must say once was crazy, doing it twice was insane. Some photos I took on Big Wheel and from parking lot (sorry its iphone quality)
  9. I'm hysterical over the Jon Corzine gig!! That was too funny! Great update as always and it's great to see movietown get some attention.
  10. I must say that I really love the logos and color scheme on déjà vu! Great trip report as always! Great to see some history in the new ride as well!
  11. The ride looks awesome, however I agree with everyone else about how it looks out of place, however I'm sure they still have a lot of work to do and planned for Adventure Alley. I can't wait to see the final outcome of the area.
  12. Any word on the 2012 park map and pamphlet?
  13. I'll never forget the one time I rode the batman side back in 2002 almost ten years ago, best side out of the two. Going through that top hat in the front row was just beyond awesome!
  14. IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! Remember when you were actually able to wear your fanny pack on Kingda Ka and El Toro? Didn't have to worry about anything falling out of my pockets, its not even a loose article if you really think about it.
  15. This picture goes well with this site! By the way, Yes that is a Fanny pack, the good old days before mandatory lockers!
  16. I couldn't agree more! I'd rather see movietown and old country filled up with flats rather then a new coaster, similar to what the area was like in 1996! Maybe a Zamperla Disko in freefalls old spot along with a round ride in front of the observatory, maybe a giant sky chaser or air race. Then save the old country retheme for the following season. We really don't need a new roller coaster in the immediate future.
  17. Oh, I didn't even think of that! Do you know if it will remain blocked off again this season?
  18. Your definately not a lonewolf when it comes to seeing this ride reborn. Unfortunately from a business perspective the ride had a Notorious reputation for always being down and a new coaster would bring in a lot more profit for the company then taking the chance of spending the money to rebuild the chiller and taking the chance of people complaining like they did with Bizarro, along with possible further downtime which ...just picture the possibilities. I have my version of chiller with the extended coaster on RCT3....(yes ill admit to it and im not ashamed!) It would be a miracle and dream come true to see this beautiful machine come back to life but unfortunately, it won't ever be in a six flags park. Great Adventure has moved on, like they did with my beloved space shuttle. :'( Edit: The master beat me to it!
  19. I LOVE your spotlights! Each one is never dull. I have to say though, its simply amazing to see how much the park has cosmetically changed since it opened.
  20. The length of Mr. Freeze is 1300' while the batman side of chiller is 1137' and robin is 1229'. On Mr. Freeze, After the top hat, the ride leads to a somewhat high over banked turn, then goes up a vertical spike which the train goes through the transitions rather nicely. Chiller on the other hand had the zero g rolls after its main element which was rather "sharp" (from my experience at least) then going up the spike, and then getting launched back words into the zero g roll on its way down. It was just poor engineering as mentioned, the trains had no business going through that layout with the speed required to complete the course. (Again this is just my honest opinion.) If the ride gets rebuilt..... everything after the first main element would most likely have to get replaced so your pretty much stuck with buying 1/2 a coaster if you really think about it. I would rather see great adventure spend their money and get and get a new coaster.
  21. Has anyone noticed the activity going on in the former Balin's Jungleland? It seems like this season is going to be even better then 2011!
  22. This is just an assumption with what we've heard over the rides history... but ill go to say that When you look at Mr. Freeze and then you look at Chiller, The chiller had a much more COMPACT layout then mr. freeze did, causing more wear and tear.... also after they modified the ride, it still needed the same speed to get through the main element which i think was the cause of its dismiss. I personally think that robin was just not ment to take that cobra roll going 70 mph...never mind those zero g rolls and i'm no expert nor do I have any sources, but Chiller was a disaster from the day it was announced.
  23. With SFDK getting a new premier coaster (red zone would have never considered), could you imagine they completely renovated chiller and reintroduced it as Batman Vs. Joker escape from Arkym? ......oh the possibilities, but now back to reality. Its such a shame that this ride is sitting and rotting away, breaks my heart!
  24. I think that would look so much better visually too! The "Royal" elephants will go great next to Mama Flora's Castle like theme and the scrambler will look so much better next to our round up! Almost how it should have back when our old one was going to get relocated to the Pirate Flight's pad back in 2003.
