  1. There is a very noticeable bump at the apex of the turnaround after the first 2 airtime hills. The twister section can also be a bit rough in the back cars. Other than that it seems to be running ok.
  2. Holiday World has 3 wooden coasters. Nothing wrong with that. I don't see the problem with having 2 floorless models in one park, the coasters are already similar beside the trains. I personally wouldn't care, but if that were to be a problem they could always install sitdown trains. That would give us a traditional looper, and bring reminders of GASM a little
  3. We all saw it coming. I personally thought it had 1 or 2 years left given the recent repaint, but I guess I was wrong. I guess with this and Vortex at California's Great America being converted to a floorless, this really is the beginning of the end for Cedar Fair stand up coasters. Seems like they're going to convert or remove every one of them. (By the way in a few years i'll look back on this post and find out if i'm right!) EDIT: By the way King's Dominion will be announcing a replacement in August or September according to a local news release.
  4. ^Really? What day are the announcements? DIdn't know it would be that late this year.
  5. It seems Disney is trying to outprice the middle class to cater to upper class families. Anyone else see this? Perhaps they will raise the price even more to make this change more drastic.
  6. I agree about the wingrider. We don't really need one at all. We have B&M's that do everything, and I don't think they have any drastically different experiences left to offer. EDIT: I know I've asked this many times but when is the little teaser campaign going to start? I'm tired of just aimless speculation and I want the real game to begin!
  7. Now that most of the other major parks in the chain have caught up with us, (Though no park can really top our lineup besides maybe Magic Mountain depending on your opinion) I think it's definitely our turn to get a high quality thrill ride. Though an S&S Free Spin would be ok, it seems sorta gimmicky to me. I prefer a traditional coaster that focuses on ride experience rather than records and gimmicks
  8. ^^That would be a nice addition, but unfortunately it doesnt seem likely
  9. ^I actually saw that. lol Are you from the future? ^^It seems that everyone wants to be the one with "breaking news" these days. This leads to a huge amount of incorrect or inaccurate info floating about, and with social media the problem is only worse. It doesn't seem like this will go away any time soon though.
  10. ^^A dive machine would be just another B&M, basically doing exactly what Bizarro does [minus the vertical drop(s)]. Floorless trains, some inversions, forceless for the most part, you get the gist of it. I wanna get something interesting, something not from B&M (yeah, I never thought I'd say that either) because we have enough B&M's over here.
  11. Welcome DC. Glad to see you here (but I've seen you before )
  12. Yeah GL is a painful experience for me nearly every time. It's very smooth as far as standup coasters go, but it's the god-awful trains that ruin everything. B&M OTSR's on these things go above your head so you get a lot of headbanging, especially on the brutal second half of the ride. It is also very, very painful on the legs because of the standing up. I think they shouldn't have had such high g's when all those g's are being focused on your legs. Floorless/ Sitdown trains completely eliminate this problem of pain. Unfortunately though this doesn't solve the headbanging too well because floorless/sitdown restraints are only slightly smaller, unless B&M designed a Gen 2 floorless or sitdown train with the new Banshee-style vest restraints. For now I completely avoid GL as it's not worth the pain. People are saying good things about Rougarou at CP so if they ever go the same route, I'd be all for it and would definitely ride a lot. EDIT: Off topic, but I found out there's a place in the queue that you can photobomb the on-ride camera! I gotta try that next time I go! You know, for laughs
  13. ^I don't think they would do the same thing as SFFT because everyone would instantly know what it is.
  14. Yeah i mentioned this in a previous post, teasers should start coming soon. Also ^ if it's indeed a coaster then of course the teaser campaign will be larger than last year, which was just for El Diablo which didn't need an enormous campaign
  15. ^Medusa is insane, aided a lot by terrain. If we had the kind of terrain SFM had (as SFGadv is mostly flat) we could build a great RMC. Any coaster utilizing a parks landscape is great.
  16. ^Yeah that thing blacked me out so hard XD. I loved every second of it, but really that coaster is definitely not for everyone. The lines for it at KD rarely exceed 30-45 minutes because most people are terrified of it
  17. The 4D coaster doesn't seem like my type of ride, but if we get one I'll definitely try it. I mean, at least we would get something that is actually a coaster unlike 2015
  18. I'm gonna weigh in on this giga concept; Matt hit it right on the nail, the giga coaster is mostly a marketing tool in some of the parks. Fury 325 is one of the few coasters that the GP constantly discussed, and Carowinds added it to become a destination themepark. Leviathan was not added for attention like F325, but the second reason; to make CW a destination themepark. The same for KD as well (but the reasoning behind that is a bit different than the others, but that's for another time). The thing is, we're already a destination themepark and although I would cry with joy if we got anything like I305, we don't need one right now. Plus, SF is adding attractions that won't break the bank but will gradually improve the park. They're no longer interested in spending 20+ million on each park, but instead making sure that ever park gets some sort of addition. It's working for the most part, and the GP is for the most part ok with it, but it seems us regulars/enthusiasts aren't liking it. They see no need to majorly change our park for the time being like CP did with Carowinds (there are actually quite a few reasons Carowinds recieved a giga this year). Also I agree with Nitro1118. Nitro and El Toro were the best decisions the park ever made, and very, very few things could top that.
  19. Seriously, I just want the park to build something impressive this year. If that happens, I'm happy. Whether it be theming-wise, or statistical wise, if it's impressive then I'm all good EDIT: Isn't it around this time that the park/company starts putting up the first teasers? I don't remember when it started last year, but I'd like a teaser so all this debate about speculation can finally come to an end and we'll have some evidence of a new addition
  20. I also agree, an area that large being demolished should be justified/made up for with something bigger than a Freefly. A LOT of space will be opened up because of this
  21. Great read, and I agree with what you're saying. Unfortunately as of right now, it doesn't appear change is coming at all, and unless there is a huge management change it will remain this way. Sad thing, as the park would look 100x better without the ads, for example

It's much more nerve-racking than the Windseekers (with the metal bars) because of those chains, it adds to the experience. Imagine if it were a 400 ft model!
  23. I would straight-up trade every looper in the park for Intimidator 305 (yes, it's that good)
