  1. You know the greatest food and service is the rule...
  2. This is the first I've heard; where did you hear this?
  3. Very true on both counts; I like that the area from the fountain to the carousel will still be known as "Fantasy Forest."
  4. I'll have to take a Thumper on this one: "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all"
  5. OK, here goes: the "future" segments of the franchise take place in 2015, and now look totally dated... not enduring. As for the Simpsons, what I'm trying to drive home is that they are popular worldwide - and Orlando's percentage of non-US tourists is growing every year. If ratings are "plummeting" so, why would FOX renew the show each year? BACK ONTO THE TOPIC OF JAWS.
  6. From what we're hearing down here, that is part of the plan... This: From Jim Hill Media:
  7. I'm sure they're already looking at possible alternatives...
  8. The third and final film in the series was released in 1990 - 22 years ago. Regardless of what you may think of the series' quality (which is subjective), it's still on the air - worldwide - in Japanese, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Québécois. That's very possible, but with every changeover, they examine it's technology and make improvements. I grew up with Hanna Barbera cartoons and love their cast of characters, but I'm realistic enough to acknowledge they no longer resonate with the majority of people. Will Despicable Me last forever? I doubt it... but Universal is a park that's ever-changing, moving forward, setting the bar...
  9. Jaws, King Kong and BTTF are franchises that are no longer relevant... The ride may have been top-of-the line when the park opened twenty years ago, but now it's laughable. Universal's niche is cutting edge, and the park is in a very competitive area...
  10. It was about 70 here on Monday, and very sunny - much warmer than when we rode Splash Mountain together in 2009! Since moving down here, we really haven't seen more than a 2-boat wait...
  11. Even on its closing day, we didn't witness a wait time more than 15 minutes... we heard it got up to 45 at some point, but that still speaks volumes about its popularity.
  12. "For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne." Happy new year, all - much love & many blessings!
  13. Agreed - we just saw it for the second time today.
  14. Merry Christmas to all... and God bless us, everyone!
  15. They actually did one season, kind of... remember the Starburst hand/foot prints for recommended poses?
  16. Flumes generally don't have "water effects." Keep it on topic: Congo Rapids.
  17. And apparently, it's a decision made at the park level... a decision that seems like a no-brainer... why would anyone turn down free theming?
  18. Yesterday we ran over to MK for haircuts at the barber shop; when we left (between 12:30 and 1 PM), the monorails were down... with 58,000 people in the park for the taping of the parade... This morning, a monorail was spotted being towed.
  19. Focus, folks - the topic is 'Indoor show venue/show.'
  20. This is what Warner LeRoy looked like... and dressed like.
