  1. I must have been there on a really off day since I didn't get any preshow. But the preshow definately does make or break those types of rides because they set the mood and also are an aid in terms of giving the gues an idea of what they are in for once the ride has commenced. Without them, while the ride is certainly still entertaining, I don't think a person alwasy gets to full effect of the ride. The only reason I mentioned Elvira is because the preshow for that simulator really does at least explain to you what exactly you are riding once inside the theatre. Without it it just felt like we were thrust onto a random ride that Elvira just happened to be riding as well. Maybe I'm just picky which is a distinct possibility haha, but that's my feeling.
  2. Now this sounds like it could be interesting once in full swing. With my recent aquisition of a Voyager I certainly would like to see how it's bluetooth handles what this system will be trying to throw at it while I am in the park. My only concern with reading this is the possibility of being overwhelmed with advertising everywhere, making the current signage seem like nothing. I really hope they are able to keep this content to a reasonable limit.
  3. I think at the rate they are going we are more likely to see a complete makover within the next few years into Gotham City than we are to see more general Movie set or Movie theming. With Stuntman's Freefall and the Water Effect now gone, almost everything in that area are now themed to Batman (Batman: The Ride, The Dark Knight, Arena) or the DC Universe (Justice League Headquarters) in general, so it seems Gotham is the most likely way for them to take it. Of course within the next year the park will probably introduce another ride or show to throw me off here, but whatever they do it would be nice to see more consistency for that area.
  4. I think I a a little bit biased because I've never had the experience of a stand up coaster, so to ride one once in our park would be nice. But you are right the trend definately is looking like big steel launchers and wooden coasters today. It is a shame because there are a lot of older coasters who would probably have been better ideas with today's technologies than they were during their operational times.
  5. I second that one for sure, but I also suppose it could be worse in some respects.
  6. Did anyone else notice during Fright Fest this year a lack of preshow on Elvira. Having seen it in the past I knew what the movie plot was, but I was disspointed that we were simply thrown into the ride and some people I don't think really got what it was about.
  7. That's certainly somewhat dissapointing. Would love to see it come to a park in the area even if for just a few years.
  8. Skyride by day Water Slide or Log Flume?
  9. Awesome Phil's flyovers are always fun to take a look at. And I am sure Jungle Habitat would be interesting to take a look at from that perspective.
  10. How's everyone's 08 going so far. Any Superbowl Predictions here? As a Jets fan I absolutely can not root for the Patriots, but I don't necessarily want the Giants to win either. Maybe a tie haha
  11. The big point for me is the value. If you love going to the park like me then it only makes sense to get the season pass for all of your visits during the season. Fright Fest is also a good point. The only ones I don't think I have a ton of interest in are the concerts and the AMA's.
  12. Welcome to the site Rob. Hope you enjoy it and look forward to chatting with you on the boards.
  13. As usual Great Spotligh guys. I never got to ride this at Great Adventure, but have ridden it at Morey's Piers and I agree, a ride like this would certainly fit in well with the park. And if it were close to it's old place it would give a nice perspective skyline view of the park opposite the one riders get on the Big Wheel.
  14. Thanks Can you guys believe it's February already as of Friday. While the year is still young it's already flying.
  15. Some friends and I have been up there a few times after first learning about its existence from Weird NJ. It was an interesting place to walk through when we were there. I know the are has come unde a much more watchful eye within the last few years as have most of those sites up in the West Milford area, so going is probably out of the question anymore with frequency. Certainly looks like it was an interesting experience as safari's are always fun and entertaining.
