  1. I hope SF doesn't retheme Nitro as an excuse to pass it off as a new attraction. This is a practice Disney has performed in recent years, especially out in DCA and its a really tacky maneuver.
  2. It seems single rider lines generally work better on rides with rows that hold odd number of riders. With even number rider capacity rows, single rider lines just crawl. Most groups of people are usually an even number, mostly 2s and 4s.
  3. Most single rider lines take just as long as standby. Very few are shorter waits.
  4. Many years ago, HH used to be open every day in June, until we had an unusually cool June one year that made the park pretty empty. Beginning the very next year and to this day HH is open only on weekends for most of June. This Christmas Eve was the coldest in Philly's recorded history, a record breaker. While New Years is supposed to warm back up into the 50's its also going to be rainy which will also hurt attendance. It doesn't look good.
  5. Called it, sub freezing temps all day is pretty cold. The forecasted high for Monday is just 30.
  6. If they still had the drive thru they would have to super salt the walkways for the cars which would cause long term dsmage to the pavement and park infrastructure as well as to guest's cars. Ice melt salt is pretty much pure entropy to everything it touches.
  7. Then the bad forecast gave them the excuse to finally cut them. Would not be surprised if at least Monday is also cut due to the extreme cold as temps are suppisedvto rise above freezing until Wed. Sad reality is that late Dec weather here is more often than not, is hostile to outdoor park operations. I wish it wasn't so as I do like HITP. This isvone reason why I really liked the lights drivethru, you fould enjoy the lights from the comfort of a heated car instead of walking and freezing.
  8. They probably cut those days due to the terrible weather forecasted for them. A strong storm followed by crashing temps and a flash freeze. Its probably too cold for many of the outdoor rides to operate in those Arctic conditions. I know I would not want to walk around any park in sub freezing weather like that. Its going to be the coldest Christmas in 30 years and would not be surprised if they cut HITP short because of the unusual bitter Arctic blast. Its supposed to warm back up into the 50's by New Year's weekend but that may be too late.
  9. Years ago when the restrooms and change houses in HH used to have thatched roofs, most had bamboo poles arranged in X formations over the thatching. However, one building that could be seen from the lazy river had its bamboo poles arranged to spell out RICH instead of Xs. Wonder why they spelled RICH for? Sadly the thatching and bamboo poles have been replaced with corrugated sheetmetal so the RICH sign is long gone.
  10. It is sad to see most of the theming has been removed and the installation of the tacky trailers. They could at least decorate the trailers some like Morey's does with shipping containers. Also they could plant some cold hardy tropical plants around HH like Musa Basjoo Bananas.
  11. I wpuld aleo like to see improved blasters. The grips and trigger are not ergonomical which has caused me to stop riding it as I developed hand pains. Moreover, it would be nice if they upgraded the triggers to full auto like with Men in Black at Universal, just hold the trigger down which is easier on my hand than having to pull it each time semi auto style. Full auto shouldn't wear the triggers out as fast for the blasters either.
  12. GAdv has always seemed poor at maintaining theming. Just look at the old Bada Bing theming over in HH.
  13. Those enclosures probably did trap heat in, both waste heat from the CRT as well as heat from the hot sun. They also likely trapped moisture if they lack proper ventilation and humidity control. Sometimes cars can rust out worse when they are kept in garages with poor ventilation trapping mositure instead of outdoors. I remember when I was at SFMM in 2002, all of their old Sixflags CRT TVs were still working, perhaps due to the drier climate? Were the old CRT TVs at GAdv taken down and stored during the harsh NJ Winters?
  14. I mostly remember these being nonoperational around the park. I imagine the TVs were prime targets for vandals. Surprised you know who isn't posting in this thread.
  15. Its not really an improvement as both Bobs suck.
  16. This Nov sure has been a real whiplash month, going from Sept temps to Jan temps in a week.
  17. I rather have 80s than the 40s. No heating bills, not freezing my butt off, easier to work outside, and more comfortable to go to the park! Sadly it seems most of the country has flipped to below normal temps. I probably won't go to the park this werkend due to the below normal temps.
  18. The area has been ripe for redevelopment for a long time.Glad they are keeing ETand the animal show.
  19. The park was scheduled to be open for power hours today but double checked today and saw they cancelled today. Shame as its nicer weather today too.
  20. Halloween Ends, what were the film makers thinking?
