Is Medusa the best coaster to "redesign"?

As we now know, Great Adventure will be "redesigning" Medusa for 2009. Did Six Flags pick the correct roller coaster to "upgrade" or should they have selected a different one? Feel free to comment.

Looks like Six Flags made the ride choice. Medusa is really in the need of something to boost its popularity.

I agree that SF made the right choice. On my lone visit to the park this year, every coaster I went on had at least a 15 minute wait, while Medusa was a walk-on. Plus, it was kind of sad to see her paint in such poor shape after last seeing her in 2001. This revamp will help increase its drawing power, especially when they reopen 'Viper' bridge, oh, I mean 'El Toro' bridge.

Definitely Medusa. It's very under-rated and it's about time it will see more attention. I would have said GASM but there is nothing else you can really do more to it.

I, too, picked Medusa. Its attendance was lagging, it's an okay ride that could use that something-more-to make-it-great AND it needs a name that's a little less incongruous with the old west...

lol I also picked Medusa! Medusa needed some attention about 3 years ago. I think GADV chose the right ride!

I chose Medusa, but I'd like to see more theme elements added to a bunch of coasters. Some scenery for the Runaway Mine Train, a retheme/rename of Nitro to Flash, return of the theme elements to BTR, additional theme elements added to Skull Mountain along with general rehab, additional theme elements for SUF.

I also chose Medusa, mainly because it has become weathered. However I do like Medusa's paint scheme.

I think they made the right choice with Medusa. It will breath new life to that end of the Park, and it needs some some TLC. Meduse has always been a good Coaster, with some upgrades it can be a great one. And with it being the first of it's kind, it is worthy of some attention.

I would like RT to receive modern brakes, ACE Classic seats and as much rehab on the tracks as possible so it can run like Phoenix. I'd love scenery that would develop a storyline in Skull Mountain. I'd like GASM to get a revamp. I'm not sure if it brings more people to it, so it's purely selfish on my part.

I chose GASM, since it seems to be the least popular of the major coasters in the park and could use some upgrades to get more people to ride. First thing they could do is get those new Vekoma trains with the better restraints that the Boomerang at Carowinds is getting. I'm not sure what else could be done, but I'm sure SF could come up with something.

^ I agree - though they did a good job with Medusa, I think they could also get the new trains on GASM, but Arrow and Vekoma are too different companies - who knows if S&S Arrow has a better train. They could get the new Bizarro, and revamp GASM but not make a big deal out of it, like with the Xploratorium.

I chose Medusa (Speaking in past tense here) only because it was most appropriate for a retheme. On the other hand, Rolling Thunder did, and still does, need a huge rehab.

They made the right choice; looking back, though, Medusa seemed to fit the area more so than Bizarro, but no real complaints.

 

It doesn't need a redesign, but I'd love to see them bring Batman the Ride back to its former glory.

Medusa was my first choice of coasters that needed a redesign. Now my first choice would be Bizarro. It's the most inappropriately themed coaster in the park.

I think the whole Bizarro redo was just a waste, the theming is not great, the audio isn't much, they should have spent the money on a new flat.

The audio was great the month or two after it opened, although it often hurt my ears. Now, its just a bunch of static and audio dropouts.

Probably either not real good audio equipment or the they can't keep up with maintaining it or both. I would not be surprised if they remove it in the near future.
