Railer
I was supposed to Eastcoaster today, but due to unforseen circumstances I could not go. But Harry just gave me word that there is no new name for Medusa, it will stay the same. It will be opening on Memoral Day. It will be supposedly the same themeing additions as X-2. I will keep you all informed if I hear anything else, as the day goes by.
ChrisChavan
Wow. Medusa really ties into a Lex Luthor theme. Weak.

JetsDevs4Lyf
Park really dropped the ball on this one. No point in transforming a ride if you are going to continue giving it the same name.At least an addition to the name would have meant something. Looks like a giant letdown after the wheel and fireworks announcements.
Great Adventurer
I'm not going to conform here; I like the fact that Medusa's name will be staying. I can't wait to see the changes that we have in store.
29yrswithaGApass
Don't discount "Medusa" just yet! With all the new special effects, music, and theming this may be exactly the storytelling elements we have asked for since 1999. As far as the name, the new 2009 pamphlets promote the ride as Medusa but you never know! I'll post the pamphlet tonight.
rcji
Thanks for the update! I'm happy that/if it will be the same name. I like that name and plus if they did change the name it could be something worse! If Medusa does get sound and or fire like X^2 I'll be a happy person. RobertDavid
It just seems like they were finally going to make this coaster fit into the theme of the area it was placed in. It would be a real waste of an opportunity if they didn't do that.
warnerleroy
Did they ever say a new name won't be given? Park really dropped the ball on this one. Looks like a giant letdown after the wheel and fireworks announcements. What fireworks, I'm just corious.
southview2
Did they ever say a new name won't be given? What fireworks, I'm just corious. They announced a "Saturday night lights" fire works event from July 4th to September 5th I believe. . . It will be at ten every saturday between those dates. .9 or 10 shows. . . GAcoaster
After seeing the story line of the makeover of the coaster by Clawshun, I'm slightly hopeful this will work out. Honestly though, I'll live with whatever they do or don't do to Medusa. I liked it before, I'll probably like it more after the makeover.
Railer
I think I will second that. Medusa has always been one of my favorite Coaster's, and will continue to be that. Whatever they do with it will be a plus in my book. Maybe they will take the Medusa Mining Company Theme a bit further.
MarioSonic94
Seeing that it might probably be related to Clawshun Industries, they could possibly rename it into Lexcorp: Project Medusa. We'll just have to wait and see.
Robb
Who cares about the name at this point to be honest, its finally smooth!
CycloneMan
^AMEN! Something interesting though, after talking with Angel, I found out that the entire Medusa project is out of the control with the park, but Clawshun Industries/Corprate. I believe the park doesn't even know the name yet.
JetsDevs4Lyf
That's kinds strange in a way unless this is the norm and I don't know.
The Master
I was hoping for a better mining theme, it would be lame to give Medusa a DC theme since it is in a Western section. I have never been to keen with comic book theming for rides anyways since I was never into superheros.
warnerleroy
Wait, I'm a little slow, so it's definetely themed to Lex Luthor? If it is, whats thge point of having ultimate flight then? Atleast it's not being removed though, I liked the meDUECa idea.

It's not themed to Luthor at this point, but the viral marketing is a DC tie-in; no clues yet where this is headed...

JetsDevs4Lyf
I suppose that with the retheme of the ride, if it ends up running smoother and is more enjoyable, people will at least call it again by its name of Medusa rather than some of the derogatory ones I have heard for it over the last few years. Chiller
It is kind of good, in my opinion, that there will not be a name change. Although it may not fit in the section, it became a classic. Medusa: The worlds first floorless coaster. Six Flags could suprise us and have a compleatly different theme than we are guessing. Not anything to do with Lex Luthor.
