Will we ever see another "Premier Era"?

Recommended Posts

It's always a possibility. Six Flags is doing well right now with just smaller additions in their parks, so for now no. But, with the increases in attendance and revenue they will also be able to afford and justify more expensive additions eventually.

If we ever get a decent length RMC it would match up well with the Premier era rides IMO.

To me it seems like SF is trying to round out its parks each year. A lot of SF parks are short on flat rides and dark rides so they've been adding a lot of them recently, once it's time for a park to get a coaster again one will be put in.

I don't see that happening, they have to have at least 1 wooden coaster at the park and it makes 0 sense to mess with what most consider the best wooden coaster in the world.

Six Flags Mexico, Discovery Kingdom, and Fiesta Texas don't have wooden coasters.

It would also make no difference in the ride. You now have 2 different colored rails.

As Premier's fate proved, their business model is not sustainable.

In the short or medium term, while there may be some larger standalone additions like Goliath @ SFGAm, most of what we'll see will be smaller-scale, cheaper additions, as we have across SF in recent years. Nearly all of their "larger" coaster additions have cut corners on cost. somehow -- some are retrofits, some are relocated old rides, and some are smaller-scale/cookie-cutter coasters like The Joker.

At least Cedar Fair is still investing in substantial new coasters.

I definetly think that RMC worked very closely with Six Flag's, and prob our Park's own Larry Chickola to come up with a cheaper way to do Coaster's in the scale of 20mil+ B&M's, and came up with the T-Rex. If any park in the Chain is the 1st Customer, it will add credibility to that idea. And they will prob talk about it giving interviews about it if it does happen.
