Man that sucks. I understand the reasoning as it seems every time I go on a ride at the park lately some jackass has their phone out. In fact on Toro last time this jerk was in front of me with his phone over his head trying to film his friends that were BEHIND ME. I gave him the whole schpeil about no phones, etc while on the lift hill but he wouldnt put it away. I did not exactly feel safe but luckily he held onto it.

Personally I try to bring as little as possible into the park knowing I'll have to shove it all in my pockets on coasters (sunglasses, camera, wallet is really all I need, and sometimes I don't even bring the camera) but I guess I have to get some zippered shorts and pants. Regardless of the safety factor, I can't help but feel its a way to get more coin out of me.

I already dealt with getting wanded on Nor'easter twice this year, where ironically, they let me keep my sunglasses on during one of the rides I took. LOL.

Last night the park lost power as my sister, dad and I were leaving the park due to the storm that appeared... We were just passing the fountain when all of a sudden the fountain stopped and the park went completely dark. There was a simultaneous GASP! from everyone in the park, followed by screams. Trying to find our way through the park, then through a pitch black parking lot with rain and debris from the ground being thrown at you by the wind is a scary experience. :faint:

It was crazy, about 5 minutes later lights for the ticket booths and metal detectors came on, but nothing else. The only lights that I didn't see go out are the lights that are on top of the tall rides and lift hills.

Which means they do have generators for at least those lights (and for the front gate it sounds like). Guess they have to have them at the highest point of the tall coasters considering those lights are mainly for pilots/air traffic.

Also FYI to all re: the pockets/loose article issue: Old Navy has (somewhat stylish lol) shorts that double as swimtrunks and have zippered pockets on the side, and they are on sale NOW for around $12. Just saying. I may or may not have ordered a few pairs after reading about this. ;)

Thank you!! Will definitely look into it.

Last night on line for Kingda Ka, the guy behind me was reading the sign spelling out the park's line cutting policy. When he was finished, he turned to his friend and said, "Man, that would really suck if they actually enforced this."

The park really needs to start enforcing the policy. The cutting is getting worse and worse all over the park.

they need to add a text messaging system for the line cutting. security is never around when it happens. they are more concerned with walking the park and picking up garbage. its been terrible this season. I even once pointed out some line cutters to security while waiting in line for Ka, and security wanted nothing to do about it, the security guy eventually just left.

As we were leaving the park last night, we saw some guy running out of the park and a security guard chasing him. From what people were saying the guy stole something but I wasn't sure. The guy was caught as we were nearing our car, and he was being escorted somewhere as we were leaving.

Last time I leave there's a power issue due to a storm, and this time it's a chase scene?

This park is getting crazy at night... :Z001_unsure:

That's any park though. We had season passes for Sesame Place for years...and I can't tell you how many times I saw police there for fights, theft, etc.

I was on a marching band trip to Disney World when one of the band parents were robbed IN Magic Kingdom. Sadly it happens.

The last time I was there as I was waiting for the shuttle bus to take me back to the drop off lot, I saw a man getting arrested and being led into a cop car, I wondered what was going on, this was around 6:30 that night. You really need to be careful after 6:00

More rough crowd stories. Sounds like GA needs more security guards, or they need to have police on site at all times. I usually leave by 4, so I have never seen this, but the park seems like a dangerous place. I once again thought that people on here were overreacting to crowd issues, but I guess they aren't if there are multiple robberys and arrests. Action Park does not have night hours as they close at 6 during June and the 2nd half of August and 7 during July and the first half of August. I saw two drunk guys get kicked off a ride by security, but that was because they could barely even walk and fell down multiple times on the way up to the ride. Maybe waterparks don't have as many issues as theme parks do, but for how often I am there, I have never seen any issues.

SFGadv has plenty of security. They are more concerned having them walk the midways picking up trash. You can never find a security guard in a line while line cutting is happeneing. They are out cleaning the park.

That's NOT what security should be doing. Is SF too cheap to pay for separate janitorial and security staff now?! Don't tell me that a multimillion dollar corporation can't hire some local teens and give them brooms, dustpans, and trashpickers to clean the park so the guards don't need to double as janitors. That way they can focus on security issues, and not picking up garbage. Action Park does this and they have a much cleaner park and a lot less line jumping. I have only been to Dorney once, but I am pretty sure that security guards are much more focused on security, and not picking up garbage. Like Action Park, their park is much cleaner and better kept. Most of GA's non coaster infrastructure is a combination of antiquated, dirty, and poorly maintained. I have not ridden Zumanjaro yet, but from what I see here, it should be considered "the mother of all mistakes". All this precious money spent on an unproven ride design that has a low capacity and halved the capacity of the park's most popular coaster, not to mention killing Rolling Thunder. All of this was done amidst understaffing, rampant line jumping, and midways that crumble beneath our feet. Having GCI fully retrack Rolling Thunder and replacing the trains would have been a much better option, about half the cost, and kept a great family coaster. They need to realize that a spending spree on an unnecessary and unreliable ride that rendered the parks signature ride out of commission for months WILL ONLY CAUSE THEM TO LOOSE EVEN MORE MONEY.

I don't understand why security is constantly singled out for 'cleaning the park' when it is a park wide 'rule' we don't pass garbage we pick it up. Yes there are people that clean the park but every other employee does,or is supposed to, do their part as well.

The security rant is getting quite annoying and repetitive anymore. Stop complaining on the site and communicate with the park about your issues with them.
