  1. I get that they are concerned with the launch cable breaking again but what makes Top Thrill Dragster safer than Kingda Ka? Whatever cedar point does to protect guests, Great Adventure could do the same thing. Top Thrill is basically in the middle of the park.
  2. I wouldn't mind so much if that money was being used to improve the park and not just to buy new rides.
  3. And every weekend i've been busy!!! Only went twice on opening weekend.
  4. The last time i went on congo rapids, i hardly got wet! the people across from us got soaked! The only way to get wet was from water splashing over the side. This was a few tears ago though. The rapids at disney's animal kingdom or at Universals island of adventure had a plastic covered storage bin where you can put things to keep dry.
  5. at cedar point, they have bleachers you can sit and watch top thrill dragster.
  6. there's enough attractions in that area to make people go through the boardwalk.
  7. when i go alone, there's always an empty seat and once i see that nobody is getting in it, i hop on. Most times people in front of me let me know there's and empty seat. I think all coasters should have a single rider line. Each train should be filled to capacity especially on busy days. I would say to go as far as assigned rows. At disney and other parks, they have somebody at the station asking how many, then assign a row to that person or group. That would mean hiring more people though.
  8. I stay away from the "boomerang" style coasters. I always wanted to go on twoface at Six Flags America but it was always closed. King's island has one i think, but these rides always have long lines due to the small capacity. The one at Hershey and wildwood always gives me a bad headache. Parks purchase these types of coasters because of the small footprint, cheap purchasing cost and it adds to the coaster count of the park.
  9. Oh wow! that would be nice!
  10. There are a lot of unused space. Before expanding into unused land, management issues need to be fixed and old country needs to be reopened. Did they get rid of the flat rides because of maintenance costs or staffing? Everything revolves around money. If it's costing the part too much to maintain it and it's not that popular, dismantle it and leave an open space. (swings). Old country has so much potential and being close to the main entrance, it can attract people as soon as they enter the park.
  11. There has been talk in a few sections of the forums about why isn't the park expanding if they have so much land? What would you like see happen and where should the park expand?
  12. maybe lift Zumanjaro, as the carts hang there, launch kingda ka. Now would braking both rides close to the same time be an issue? Why can't they just get more power? It's a major amusement park. I wonder if any other sixflags has a problem with this. As far as expanding, they need to deal with capacity issues and crowd control before they expand. If it expands, that means a lot more people. At times, they can barely control crowds as it is now.
  13. processing is horrible! i waited over an hour on opening day and about 15 minutes the next day for my cousin. I decided to go earlier the second time. My fingerprint didn't work on the second day. The 10 min was a joke. They let everybody in at the gate then 10 min early at the ribbon. We got to superman and had to wait because it wasn't open. They do need to fix that. I think this might just be a trial.
  14. A seperate parking section just for season pass holders would be nice. Or maybe adding preffered parking to the parking pass for an extra fee. I normally get to the park before opening so i park real close. When i leave in mid afternoon, I would wave a car coming in so they can have my spot. Most of the time i look for cars with kids. I remember staying a few times untill closing and it taking forever to get out. I would normally go left and out the employee entrance. Last time, they had that blocked off. On monmouth rd, they need more signs letting people know that the right lane ends and becomes exit only. Traffic is horrible after closing.
  15. I work 10 minutes from the park so i won't know until last minute
  16. I just had an idea. An online profile for every season pass holder. Everything would be on that person's profile. Pictures they took or bought, access to the ecoupons, chatting, up coming events or promotions, track your visits. I thought of this because i have a photo pass and i have to sign into 2 different sites for this. I think it would be easier just to have one site for everything.
  17. season pass only would be good. I think part of the problem is that people ask the employees in the booth questions. Just pay for your parking and ask questions later! Where does everybody park? I always stay to the right, but it seems that a lot of people park by superman. It ssems to me that it would be a longer walk over there.
  18. I was going to say get it first, but then i thought about viper. I think a ride that stays popular for a long time due to it's stats, is better than being the "one and only" or first. Kingda Ka wasn't the first, but it still holds records and is still very popular. It doesn't take long at all for a ride to gain a bad reputaion. Once a protype rides gets that bad reputation, then six flags will spend more money to improve it, then ultimately removing the ride which costs even more!
  19. on the flip side, i think the loss of rolling thunder increased the popularity of the runaway train. On opening weekend, the line was actually into the queue! Its the only "family" coaster other than dark knight.
  20. There's steel all around it. I dont think it would affect El Toro at all. Hershey park also has street view on google
  21. The pics i took on saturday show a straight shot to Kingda Ka from under El Toro. A piece of track still remains.
  22. it would be easy at cedar point because there is access to that part of Top Thrill Dragster but since they have a drop ride and the fact that it wouldn't break any records (they love doing that to us and Top Thrill Dragster is smaller), makes me think they won't do that. Was there a sidewalk or two being built where Rolling Thunder used to be? I think i noticed that on Sunday but i took all my pics on Saturday.
  23. I never realized that there was that much room between the entrance to Kingda Ka and Rolling Thunder's track.
