  1. I rode Batwing last year for the first time and I loved it. Reminds me of Firehawk at Kings Island.

VOMIT-INDUCING - Swashbuckler 7. LAME - Fender Benders 8. CLASSIC - Saw Mill Log Flume 9. ROUGH - Green Lanturn 10. SATISFYING - Nitro
  3. He is pretty much right. Like I said before I hate heights and drops but everytime i'm at the park I go on it thinking that this is the time that the ride will get to me. The last few times when it dropped I would look at one of my kids to see there expressions (my daughter loves heights and my son is like me--- he hesitates on going on but convinces himself to do so) and they both say the same thing that it's not as bad as other drop towers. I believe since it's a longer drop, the initial drop sensation catches up to you so it does not feel like your stomach is in your throat.
  4. Here's one link I just found... http://abc7.com/news/fire-erupts-on-colossus-ride-at-magic-mountain/299887/
  5. I went on the 6th during the ROTB event but only for a few hours. Now too crowded but there was still hardly any tubes for the lazy river and the slides were crowded.
  6. Has anyone been to Dollywood? It seems they are in the top 5 for several catagories...
  7. I'm terrified of heights and drop towers but I still ride them. And the funny thing is that I prefer Zumanjaro over other drop towers. I believe that it's because when going up, it's in relationship to Kingda Ka which is huge and long in lengTh so when looking forward I don't feel as high up. And the drop does not seem as bad either.

    Freefall

I am probably wrong about this but I thought the Free Fall At Magic Mountain was taller at 1st and then they dropped it a few stories after the 1st season. I can't find a source of all the heights of them. I just remeber hearing the MM Free Fall was a few more stories than the one at Gadv.
  9. Went 4 times this year, 1st 2 times was for a few hours (or even less) after visiting Great Adventure for a 1/2 day, the 3rd time was on labor day with just my son (and that was only til 2:30pm) and the 4th time was when we took a break during the ROTB on Saturday and went for 2 hours from 11:15 to 1:15. Thought we were going to go more but with a lack of lazy river tubes and long lines/slow dispatches (even we it was not busy) kept us away from the park. We have been going less and less every year. In fact my wife did not even go once this year.
  10. I'll might post something later but someone else could probably write something better. But in the mean time... It was a record turnout...I believe around 375 people. My kids and I did the opposite that most people did and it seemed to work out, Hit Skull Mountain 1st, 3 times with 2 re-rides with the lights ON, then Nitro 5 times with 4 re-rides, Hit Green Lantern, took the shuttle to the water park for a few hours. Had a nice lunch with the group and after that the park was shuts down for a few hours with a threat of thunderstorms... ERT for El Toro was delays so we hit Bizarro for a few rides. Then hit Zumanjaro and El Toro during the end of ERT. After that was Batman and then the Dark Knight with 3 times with 2 re-rides. Then the rain came again so we left. Between rides we did walk around a lot and relaxed. Met some really great people and even hung out by my truck outside the park for few minutes while waiting for the threat of storms were past. See we have gone to the park several times this year (and the years prior) we are rarely there at night. We usually go on Sundays and leave in the afternoon. But it was nice being there at night and was surprised my kids made it from 8:30am to 10:30pm. Even stayed awake on the way home. (but crashed right after that). Will definitely do it again next year not just for the ERT's but the ACE community is something special. Only thing we missed was that we did not sign up for any tours. so we will try and get there earlier next time. Now if my daughter did not have a sweet sixteen party for one of her friends at Adventure Aquarium we would be going to The Casino Pier today with the group. But I will be at GADV next Saturday and Sunday for the "Bring a friend free" for both my kids...
  11. I saw that post on Screamscape but have not heard any details or plans.
  12. We are planning to take a break from the park early afternoon and run over to HH for an hour or two. I know they have a shuttle service going back and forth but does anyone know how often it goes back and forth. Tks
  13. I think they all went to HH in the afternoon. My son and I left HH at 3:00pm and the line of people waiting to get in was past the ticket booths
  14. I kind of understand why people won't renew their season passes but I don't think its just because of Looping Dragons. For the past few years I've been contemplating about renewing our season passes. And recently the past year or two the only reason we got 4 (the 4th is for my wife) was because of the free parking and lower prices. Seems like for the past few years we have been going less and staying for less time. I don't mind them not getting a large coaster right away because they already have a pretty good line-up, but they need to add more shows at the very least. That would keep our family coming back if we can watch a decent stunt show(s), high dive shows, etc...The last time I was there we watched a dance party by the fountain at 1pm with 1 character and 1 host and no one dancing. It's 8:30 right now and the past few Sundays including today my kids and I always debate if we show go or not. The last few Sundays we decided not to go and today it looks like we are staying home again. We are getting a little tired (especially my kids) to go to the park just to ride the same coasters (we hardly do flats because of the carnival style feel) and then wondering around the park at 1 pm deciding if we should just go home (which we end up doing). Most of the time we wont even wait for the 3:30 sea lion show. We have seen the tap dancing shows (don't even mind of it being just 3 persons) but where it is at when sitting at the tables it's very difficult to watch with all the umbrellas around (very poorly planned). They need things that you would want to go back time and time again. Quality stunt show, Muscial revue shows with the songs always being updated, An interactive dark ride (would always go back to try and get a better shooting score). Again I would love another coaster and I am not too upset of what they are adding but I think they need to change the entire "style" of the park and make it feel like a Hershey/Busch Gardens/WDW/even Knoebels (they even have a few shows) style park. But still in a unique way (great coaster package/beautiful lake with shows on the lake/Safari/Western show near or in the grandstand). I am 2 hours away from Hershey and only 1 hour away from Gadv and Dorney Park. If Hershey was an hour away we would have Season Passes there of if Dorney Park Max season passes were comparable to Gadv we would have Season passes the Dorney instead. It's also weird one the main reasons we renewed our Season Passes this year is because we are still planning to go to SF America before this season ends. Even though it's smaller and not as many coasters (even though I like their Batwing better than our Superman) the 2 times we went so far was more enjoyable.
  15. I like the idea of the outdoor restaurant/grill but lets hope this will be part of the Dining Pass. But pretty soon the Cabana's will be all around the wave pool and we wont have any lounge chairs left (just like the tubes for the lazy river).
  16. I think Six Flags needs to open up a dictionary... Just one meaning... Noun: a small gravity railroad, especially in an amusement park, having a train with open cars that moves along a high, sharply winding trestle built with steep inclines that produce sudden, speedy plunges for thrill-seeking passengers. Other definitions are similiar...
