Nice trip report. I was also there with my family from 10:30 to about 3:00. Did not bother writing a trip report because we only rode 4 coasters and saw the Magic show. Was not crowded during our time there but for some reason we were just not into it. It is very seldom my wife and kids go together (maybe once a year to Gadv and a few times to HH), do we were just walking around. We did ended up buying the Season photo pass this year (have not done that since they had the USB flash drives) but for $35, a print and then able to download any ride or character photos we get for free it seemed like a good deal. Got pics of us on KK, Nitro and El Toro and a character photo with me and my wife. (Might post them later but I always forget how). Did notice a lot of food services and snack areas were closed (kids wanted fried oreos) and the ones that were open were pretty crowded. I might be going up there this Sunday without the family so I could just ride and ride and ride! But the cold weather forecast might scare me away.
  2. Taking my wife this Sunday... With or without my kids. Was unable to go last Easter but went the year before and it was too bad. Still have my membership passes so I don't have to worry about renewing.
  3. Then I wonder if you can put 2 dining passes on one car then? That way if I go with my son one day and my daughter another day I can use just my card everytime???
  4. In 2014 I only used it for lunch most of the times since I usually left the park by 3pm. Last year I put it on my daughter's card since we went most of the time together; however she had a boyfriend and they ended up going together to the park using it. So when I went to the park with my son, we ended up either buying lunch or bringing lunch. In the fall of last year I put the plan back on my card!
  5. Glad I bought it at the end of last season (before HITP). Will definitely pay for itself.
  6. Thanks for the info. I just posted mine.
  7. Is it me you does it look like the station will be pretty close to ground level?
  8. Roar is very rough at SFA... Can only ride it once or maybe twice per visit.
  9. I never understood why they did not have restrooms by the children's areas... for obvious reasons!
  10. Anyone remembering writing post cards? It was always better to send them instead of someone receiving them!
  11. That's what I was thinking. I know that eventually they will open it back up in the near future but I believe it was cost effective since all the equipment was already there along with a single contract instead of two.
  12. Isn't that unusual to put the Sky Bar close to Liberty Pub in Mainstreet? Also I wonder if The Pub in Movietown would still be open? I guess all of the "Pubs" are doing pretty well.
  13. Since so many people have the sports bottle, they have to walk over to put them in a holder. Having lockers like CP and DP has wont make the wait times longer I think. In fact I believe not having bins causing more problems with so many people getting past the entrance with packs and then arguing with the dispatchers that they be on the ride with them. Plus having bins (that have doors that slide back and forth to cover the bins that people are riding on) would be better FOR people with sports bottles instead of having holders that people can take someone else's sports bottles.
  14. I've been there many times during either late august or mid june. We stayed only off site once which was not bad. On the plus side they kept the pool open till 1am, had a continental breakfast and the shuttle service was pretty quit. I much prefer staying in the resort though. Every time we stayed in the resort it was Hotel Breakers. Not the best room but the pluses are that you get in the park an hour early, you can come and go as you please and even sit and relax at the beach during the mid afternoon if you want. It was also better for food. We had a cooler of soda, milk, oj, butter, cream cheese, deli meats and fruits and veggies; had a cooler for "other beverages" and brought cereal, bagels, bread and snacks. We would eat breakfast in the morning, hit the park for a few hours, go back to the room and make some sandwiches, either hit the beach or back to the park, and then for dinner we would either eat at TGIF in the hotel, go to Sandusky to eat in the park. Very cost effective. Plus getting in the park an hour early is a plus. Last time I took my family to the park my wife and son would sleep in, my daughter and I would get in the park early, hit the few coasters that we open early, even walk around (never knew about the petting zoo until we did that) and by the time they let the rest of the people in, we would hit the other coasters that people don't go to right away. We did not feel rushed at all this way. We did go to Kings Island the last 2 days and really did enjoy it... But the only reason we did that is because we had the Max Pass that year so it was just the cost of a hotel room just outside the park. The problem was that was 2007 and the rooms were only about $150 per night, the outside hotels were about $110 per night. I thought it was worth the difference back then but now the rooms are way over $250 per night. If you go with 4 people, it would not be that bad.
  15. I think it goes both ways but I always liked the having multiple children areas. I used to take my daughter on the roller coasters while my wife would take my son on the kiddie rides and we were still close by each other. Even Disney for the most part has several smaller rides with one large ride in the same area. Space Mountain, next to the Astro Flyers; Dinosaur next to bone yard... It was easier for us to go to one section of the park and ride a few rides together and then split up to ride different ones. I do like the idea of having one big kiddie section but don't take away at least a few smaller rides next to the larger coasters.
  16. Mine is... Weight reduction (like every year), Spending reduction (like every year), Being nicer to my wife (like every year), Finally getting my knee fixed, knee replacement (like every year), well... you get the point!
  17. Both ownerships would have their pros and cons... It depends on peoples personal preference. For myself, the price increase and shorter season would lean me towards Six Flags ownership but more shows and better overall appearance could lean me to Cedar Point. Back in 2007 when CF Max pass was $99.99 at Dorney Park (it was $170 at all the other parks) brought me over to the "Dark Side" for a year; which was worth it since we visited all three parks in Ohio along with Kings Dominion. Now since its a large difference between the two, we keep going back to Six Flags.
  18. Was planning 2-3 times... Only went once so far, on Black Friday. Might go this Friday or Sunday...

Now I wished I went. Wanted to take my son but he got a concussion about a month ago so he is not ready for some head banging and some g-forces. Also I did not feel like going solo since the last few times I have been going by myself. But I might be going this weekend with or without my kids...either Sat or Sun.
  20. 70 degrees her in Philly. Might be playing horseshoes in my backyard on Christmas Eve while watching Thursday night football outside... Should have put the Christmas Tree outside and grill steaks for Christmas Dinner.
  21. I like the live cams idea. I sometimes go to Cedar Point web cams and it makes me want to get back to the park.
  22. I read somewhere you can get a healthy substitute instead of fries. I think it was on the Dining Plan Brochure.
