skullmountain
The paint job for the sky screamer so far looks to resemble the Parachutes' paint job a bit!

Switlik Property
Well I searched and found nothing. So in typical newbie fashion I'll ask here. Does anyone have any information on the Music based scrambler? Is there any chance its the old muisik Express? God I hope so........
acq10uaz
^I believe it is a relocated Scrambler from a closed Six Flags park. From my understanding it will feature old Great Adventure logos. Since it's name is Deja Vu I assume it will be rockin' hit music from the 70's (when GAdv opened) through today's hits.
gafreak
im not sure if it is still going to music themed or if its more a trip back in time?
GAcoaster
I believe the "music theme" was dropped. The ride itself is a standard Scrambler ride which appears to have been relocated from American Adventures in Atlanta. I think the original plan was to do a black light paint scheme and have it play music and call it "Shake Rattle and Roll" like our former Scrambler that went to Six Flags Over Georgia. Instead this will be a more typical Scrambler installation with the name "Deja Vu" and featuring all of the old Great Adventure logos on the cars. I have a feeling the music portion will not happen with the new name.
acq10uaz
The press release that you guys got the other day still called it a "musical themed scrambler called Deja Vu", didn't it?
batmanrobinchiller
^Its still music themed.

GAFanatic
Sky Screamer looks like a tacky, cheap carnival ride. Couldn't they do something with the tower to make it look decent, instead of looking like something they plan to take down and send to another state fair next week? MarioSonic94
^Weren't many of GADV's original rides "tacky and cheap" carnival rides?
RobertDavid
^Weren't many of GADV's original rides "tacky and cheap" carnival rides? Is that an argument for being tacky and cheap? How many of those carnival rides are left? The best rides are still there; log flume, runaway train, big wheel. Those were not tacky and cheap, and that's what makes them so great. They shouldn't try so hard to be tacky and cheap. Even carnival rides can be themed and enhanced to not be tacky. Take the drop tower added to Busch Williamsburg for instance. It's heavily themed to add to the atmosphere and doesn't look cheap and tacky. When Six Flags adds a tower, like Sky Screamer, it looks cheap and tacky and lacks any theming or purpose. And what color-blind idiot chose those colors; dark red and blue material with white stars on a lime green, yellow, and orange pole? Simple things like choosing colors that compliment each other and their surroundings can make a big difference, but Six Flags goes for the tackiest possible look. They care more for the coaster than the flat attractions that compliment it.

gafreak
pictures do not do this ride justice, its taller then the hill for nitro, its huge, the piucs make it look small and the pic had to be shot from a distasnce to fit it
DiveMachine
Sky Screamer looks like a tacky, cheap carnival ride. Couldn't they do something with the tower to make it look decent, instead of looking like something they plan to take down and send to another state fair next week? Honestly, this is one of the best additions they could have made at this point. Its thrilling, it fills in a former ride pad, and it compliments the coaster collection well. The reason that the ride looks like this is because this is, first and foremost, a business. Things take time, they need to be budgeted and it takes employees, effort and money as well. The ride is absolutely fine as it is. A big problem for these things is that the park's coaster collection is the opposite of cheap and tacky and when there is 456 ft. tower that can't keep reliable, cuts need to be made somewhere. Corporate probably realizes that most of the GP don't come for theming, they come for the rides. Many park patrons aren't going to care that its generically-themed, and cutting theming saves costs in purchases for the ride, the initial building of the ride and the maintaining the theming in the future. Many park patrons aren't going to care that its generically-themed, and cutting theming saves costs in purchases for the ride, the initial building of the ride and the maintaining the theming in the future. It's not "thrilling", it's boring. It just goes around in circles. It doesn't even tilt like Flying Wave. How does it compliment the coaster collection? The argument that tacky and cheap are good business does not hold water. If it did Six Flags would never have gone bankrupt. Tacky and cheap are what keeps killing them. It doesn't cost any extra to use different color paint. The clashing colors on that thing add to the tackiness. Corporate has been wrong about what the GP wants for many years. They always keep thinking that theming, atmosphere, shows and unique food are not important. They think as long as they keep adding coasters and thrill rides people will flock to the parks, and they have been wrong over and over. They just never learn. And while the coaster collection may not be cheap, it is VERY tacky. Tacky themes, tacky colors, tacky locations.
