DANofNJ
Do they really need to advertise indoor plumbing and heat? Where did they hold this event the last time they had it? In like a shelter for the animals in the safari?
Ogolo
Yes..It was pretty bad and the animal shelter may have been warmer. I believe it was the second year of the event in the theater by chiller. Many had to go out to their cars to try warm up.
DANofNJ
What bad planning on the parks part to not house it in a heated building and have plumbing available. Well I guess they learned a lesson Edited September 16, 2014 by DANofNJ
29yrswithaGApass
They planned to have heat (obviously) in the Showcase Theatre but there was an issue with setting the system the day of the event. They used the restrooms next door being there aren't any in the theater. Regardless of the cold, it was a fun event. Looking forward to next year. truepolak90
Hey everyone, was anyone on here able to attend the event yesterday? If so how was it? Any interesting information?
29yrswithaGApass
The event was a lot of fun. The ACE and GA teams did a wonderful job pulling everything together. It was held in the employee training building which was an ideal set up. Presenters included Diggerland, Casino Pier, Keansburg, Clementon Lake, Moreys, and Great Adventure. The time between presentations included some great videos as well as auctions and door prizes. The only disappointment was that he park tour was canceled because of the snow and ice covered walkways. Password121
http://www.coastercrazy.com/forums/winter-adventure-2015-at-six-flags-great-adventure-t34908.html Here's a write up about winter adventure. Some very interesting information here. Leads me to believe 2016 will not be coaster year, but time will tell. I give the park credit for getting their financials in order and doing so well the last few years, although it is disappointing about some of the specifics about ride additions/infrastructure improvements. joeyc98
That truly is an interesting report. Although we always do want to bash Six Flags for not giving us what we feel the park needs, its very interesting to see it from the business perspective. i cannot believe they never turned a profit until 2010. GAcoaster
Yes, I found that claim suspicious as well. There is no way the park would have continued operating for 35 years if it never turned a profit. I would believe that between 2005 and 2010 they never turned a profit because so much was spent between 2004 and 2006 on new attractions. DANofNJ
I don't believe that stat that they never turned a profit until 2010. Sounds kinda bogus to me.
