scott
I remember going up on freefall and sitting at the top listening for the buzz that let me know I was going down. Its funny, My wife drives a Durango that makes a similar noise when its cold.
29yrswithaGApass
At Costco the other day their pneumatic money tube made a sound that sounded exactly like the old Boomball game they use to have at the park. Such memories!
29yrswithaGApass
QUESTION #435: True or False: We all know Great Adventure has had both hayrides and terror trails during Fright Fest, but they also offered a hybrid hayride/trail. Guests started on a hay wagon which took them deep into the woods which then surprising broke down making guests walk the rest of the trail where they were greeted by lurking ghouls. pashacar
True! I forget the exact name, but it was themed to a studio backlot tour. In around 2003, maybe?
IBOK
Think I read that there used to be a trip out to an old house on the property where they dropped you off and you walked from there. Unless I'm mixing up my reading. I'm going with true.
jdc12192
I feel like I've heard this before, I'm going with true?
29yrswithaGApass
ANSWER: True! For one season the park's hayride started out as normal, making its way from the rapids reservoir, behind the rapids ride, and over to the area near the former site of Koala Canyon. Once there, the hay wagon ran in "mechanical difficulties" and guests were escorted off the wagon in the dark woods and left to find their own way back to civilization through the ghoul-filled forest. It was an unwanted surprise for anyone who didn't mind hayrides but was too afraid to walk a terror trail!
gencx
What year did they do this? I'm surprised because you think having park guests walking around the woods would be a potential insurance liability.
