Absolutely. Personally I think if this event grows over time the area you're suggesting is the logical area to expand it. El Toro has issues with cold temperatures and Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro are unreliable as anything but I would think Mine Train and Bizarro would have no issues with cold temperatures, the Safari is a great family ride and a great way to bring in crowds earlier and keep them in the park longer since it's normally a late arriving crowd (though obviously some animals like the cold more than others) and of course with increased crowds you would want increased capacity by adding a new kids area. Opening up to the Frontier area makes a good deal of sense.

I don't see this happening this year or even next year but I could see the event growing over time.

No mention of Sawmill Log Flume? ;)

Having Runaway Mine Train and Bizarro would be great. At parks where they care about temperature for the coasters, it seems like Arrow mine trains usually have the lowest requirements to run (Silver Dollar City is one park I can think of) and the fire from Bizarro would feel good in cold weather.

LOL, I still think the "Yule Log Flume" is the best idea ever (and has a much better ring to it than "Holly Jolly Roger" and "Poinsettia Peak") but it's come to my attention that certain (see: boring) people don't see the appeal of riding a Log Flume in January when the water may or may not be a sheet of ice.

^Yule Log Flume is a great name!

In addition to lights on the Fort it appears that the wooded area to the right of Yum Yum Cafe will be getting some kind of attraction. It looks like a few tent-like structures are being set up there. Here are some pictures taken Halloween night.

Seems I'm a little late to the party but cool to see they're expanding the event, I especially like what they're doing with the Skyride. I remember thinking last year that it would be cool to go on a round trip over the lights.

Just from reading this alone, can you please post here more? Lol

I've followed the Great Adventure thread on ThemeParkReview and Coastrbill's posts are always amazing.

Rumor is they're bringing back the Glow in the Park parade for Holiday in the Park!

This would be amazing and would really make Holiday in the Park much more enjoyable. I can believe this is true because as well as the floats being in the parking lot, there are Glow in the Park parade trash cans located around the park. Although that doesnt necessarily mean anything.

Here's some news about Holiday in the Park 2016! SkyWay, Joker, and Harley Quinn have been added to the ride lineup!

Northeast’s Largest Halloween Party Transforms into Winter Wonderland for Holiday in the Park®

  • Holiday Eats – The sweet and savory tastes of the holiday season can be found throughout the park, like spiked egg nog, holiday-flavored coffee and hot chocolate, peppermint and mocha fudge, holiday beers, festive funnel cakes with peppermint eggnog and caramel pecan bacon toppings, specialty holiday platters of sliced turkey, smoked turkey leg and chicken platters with cranberry sauce, chili bowls, harvest salads and flatbreads and hot soups.
  • Festive Photo Spots – An antique sleigh, twinkling mistletoe, larger-than-life characters, Santa’s elaborate home, giant greeting card and a new kiddie train are just a few of the fun photo spots guests can preserve their holiday memories.

New in 2016:

  • Trouble in Toyland ─ When things go amiss in Santa’s North Pole workshop, Mrs. Claus arrives in the nick of time to make it right with a sprinkle of holiday magic. This live stage production features acrobatics, comedy and surprise special guests in the Showcase Theater.
  • Merry Market Place – This newly-themed area offers shops, treats and warm fire pits. Guests can find great stocking stuffers, holiday candies and even build their own swords, Teddy bears and baskets. They can also enjoy delectable Belgian waffles and creamy, hot chocolate.
  • Holly Jolly Christmas – This newly-themed area features THE JOKER 4D, free-fly coaster, HARLEY QUINN Crazy Train and Villains Café.
  • Holiday Harmonies with Hotsy Totsy – Guests can enjoy the lively harmonies of this New Jersey-based, 1950’s-style vocal trio, celebrating the recent release of their album “Fresh Pineapple.” Saturdays through December 17 in the North Pole, weather permitting.
  • Expanded ride package – In addition to nearly 30 favorites like Nitro, BATMAN the Ride and SUPERMAN: Ultimate Flight, guests can now take a spin on THE JOKER, HARLEY QUINN Crazy Train, and soar high above the twinkling lights on the breathtaking Sky Way. All rides are weather permitting. Frontier Adventures including Safari Off Road Adventure, Bugs Bunny National Park and Plaza del Carnaval do not operate during the festival.
  • Additional dining options – Guests can enjoy additional eateries like the Snowman City Food Court featuring Ichiban Tea House, Chicken Express and Totally Kickin’ Chicken; Whimsical Wonderland’s Go Fresh Café and the new Macho Nacho in Holiday Memories.

Holiday in the Park’s opening weekend features two special events Sunday, Nov. 20. The morning begins with the Santa Run 5K race at 11 a.m., and an Elf Run 1K for kids that includes a meet-and-greet with Santa at noon. Tickets and registration are available online. The Holiday Express band will perform from 5 to 7 p.m. free with park admission. Holiday Express is comprised of 1,700 volunteers including more than 100 professional musicians and delivers music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those in need during the holiday season.

If it is the largest party then it is by being the busiest event but not by offering the most stuff. The Haunt at Dorney offers more Halloween stuff to do but it is less busy that GADV. Pics of KD's Haunt looks like it is bigger than and busier than Dorney's Haunt. For now I would say HITP is better done than FF, but I suspect that like FF, HITP will degrade over the years as the park puts less effort into it. But for the next few years HITP will still be new and require effort and can't skate by on tradition like FF does anymore.

I saw this on here but don't see anything about it on the six flags site.

On December 10, Six Flags will attempt to break the world record for most couples kissing under the mistletoe. Guests interested in participating will find more information online at sixflags.com/greatadventure. The Coca-Cola Polar Bear will make a special appearance that day between 1 and 6 p.m.

Anyone know what the white markings are for? They create a lane that leads to showcase theater I believe (could go down that far).

Joy to the world went right by the showcase theater, maybe it's that?
