  1. I'm a woman. I have zero interest in shows. I would like better menu options and more trees though.
  2. But yet that same woman is in back of him in both shots.
  3. And more importantly, we can feed goats.
  4. Is it me, or does the purple cart make it look like it's a spinner?
  5. As much as I understand this is Disney trading on their own intellectual property, which is their right, it just doesn't jive with what Walt did at Anaheim and Orlando. Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates, the Haunted Mansion and the Matterhorn had zero to do with Disney IP. They were all original, immersive and amazing. What IP they did trade on was well developed and appropriate and also immersive and amazing. And I say this as someone who loves both Star Wars and the Marvel movies, but I don't want to see re-purposed rides cheaply rethemed. I want to see new and amazing rides.
  6. Themeparktourist.com did a pretty good write-up on this ride, seems like BG has been letting it decline for a while now - https://www.themeparktourist.com/features/20170826/33120/modern-marvels-curse-darkastle
  7. God, that's a miserable wait too. Very uncomfortable.
  8. Yeah, it really is, which is nice for us locals. As one of my buddies noted, they're really making the best of this whole Global Warming/Climate Change thing.
  9. They were open. They'll be open Tuesday and then Thursday through Sunday. Best time to ride the rides, the park is usually dead quiet and the longest wait is for Justice League.
  10. It was a lot of fun. I'm not a huge wine drinker, so I've never done one of these before but my wino friends tell me this was pretty well organized and ran. We paid for the safari package, which was nice as we got to see the lion cubs and baby goats. My only complaints were about the food, which is that the lines were ridiculously crazy for the BBQ (which wasn't that great, sub-Best of the West level) and the "poutine" (which was more akin to Jersey Disco Fries - brown gravy and cheese sauce - than actual poutine which is frites with cheese curds and brown gravy). You really had to time it to ensure your food wasn't stone cold by the time you ate it. The waffles were ridiculously good though and worth the wait. Lesson learned, next year we bring our own charcuterie or get there early so we can grill in the picnic grove.
  11. The big ugly colored building is the indoor ski slope. This is all relatively new. (As for taking the train ... sure you can ... in theory. NJTransit to Secaucus Junction and then the shuttle train to the Meadowlands. Hopefully NJT can actually get it to work, as they usually have a ton of crew and equipment trouble when they do this for big events. The Superbowl, for example, was a nightmare. But if it's in constant service, they can hopefully get it running about as well as the NE Corridor or North Jersey Coast lines ... that is, if some semblance of regularity.)
  12. Fright Fest seemed very slap-dash and half-assed this year. Short on staff and theming.
  13. An airstrike on the arena. Left Twix or Right Twix?
  14. They already do those thing - https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/special-events?qt-events=1#qt-events Click on the "Special Group and Education Events" tab.
  15. I found Cell Block 6 to be a total let down while Wicked Woods to be the best of the lot. Both were sparsely staffed with ghouls and the like. Cell Block 6 certainly didn't warrant the two hour wait time (I went on a Friday and had a ten minute wait time). Too much walking through empty plywood mazes with well-marked emergency exits. Aftermath was so-so. Big Top is always a fun time, and not just because I could lead my one friend into a corner and then watching him struggle to get out of it. Blood Shed was just slightly less disappointing than Cell Block 6 and seemed to suffer from the same staffing deficiencies. The two indoor mazes are a total waste and I didn't even bother.
  16. Yeah, it's a pretty standard Hold Harmless, by no means ironclad. I can understand why SF wouldn't want the liability, it's bad enough they're taking people over uneven ground.
  17. Michael Caine (entirely for his answer as to whether or not he's ever seen Jaws - The Revenge .. which he starred in - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/9926680/Michael-Caine-Extraordinarily-good-and-spectacularly-awful.html) Good horror movies for scares or bad horror movies for laughs?
  18. Which, if I'm not mistaken, is not allowable by law in NJ. Or so the ghouls at every haunted maze informed us.
  19. I thought the same thing. Older right, fairly large footprint, wear and tear issues ...
  20. It would depend entirely on the contract between the two parties and if there are any clauses regarding use of IP for theme parks and without seeing the contract it'd be difficult to speculate and any combination of stipulations could be employed. It's not beyond the bounds of credulity that both parties could have agreed directly or as a Right of First Refusal Clause or if Saban could have made it clear that Power Rangers IP was off the table from the jump. That's one of the things about owning IP, you can slice and dice as what parts gets licensed to whom provided the other party is amenable. There's also the issue of whether or not the contract novates in the event of merger or acquisition, the famous example being Marvel's ride licensing being held by Universal despite Disney now owning Marvel. When Marvel was an independent entity, they licensed the certain IP for theme park rides to Universal Orlando. The stipulations of the deal are that the rights stay with Universal despite any M&A action but are only for the geographic region East of the Mississippi and only concerning certain characters, not the entire Marvel lineup of characters. Had Marvel not been so desperate for a capital infusion or had a crystal ball and could have foreseen the mega-hit The Avengers would become, they may have stipulated various expiration terms or other event-driven clauses such as the rights reverting back to Marvel in the event a ride is removed or after a period of time, or if certain other performance benchmarks are not met. In short, there's no standard answer.
  21. They're a Monday and a Tuesday. Great way to pick up some concession and merch money that wouldn't otherwise be in the gates.
  22. That's actually a really, really big footprint for a steel coaster that's not an out-and-back like Nitro.
  23. I don't know if there is enough irony in the world to pull that one off. ETA: From the depths of my memory emerged the rumor of an Animaniacs reboot, which I would *love* to see licensed to GAdv. Granted, they could piggyback off of the Looney Tunes contract with Time Warner ... who also owns Cartoon Network.
  24. Seriously, who - aside from James Cameron - asked for this? This is a sh*t-ton of money to be dumping into a movie tie-in to a movie most people forgot within a year of it's record-run. Anyone want to set an over-under on the retheme on it? 3 years? 5? Before Cameron manages to push out a sequel no one asked for?
  25. I'm glad I read this. There goes Dorney. I'm not up to dealing with a Saturday crowd.
