  1. I don't think anyone is going to theme anything to First Nations/Native People anytime soon as even if it's done well, it's going to stir up the wrong sort of notice.
  2. Yeah, but rather a 4-5 foot fall than a 40-50 foot fall.
  3. That's SOP for any park with a water ride now. Just look at the area around the log flume.
  4. Hence the allure of the passes and memberships. Go twice and it pays for itself!
  5. 1. The ride license for Willy Wonka is held by the Roald Dahl foundation. The movie rights are held by Warner Brothers. They are NOT THE SAME THING. They would theoretically have to acquire the rights to both if they want to use movie likenesses instead of book likenesses. 2. Why the hell would anyone build a second park in either one of those locations around that particular IP? It would make for a bomb ass dark ride but an entirely other park? Where's the demand? 3. In case you guys haven't noticed, Great Adventure isn't Six Flags' biggest concern right now.
  6. No, they can only use the IP they've licensed. The licensing agreement is specific to certain characters and in some situations is actually geographically limited as to what characters can be used. From their annual report: "In particular, our license agreements entitle us to use, subject to customary approval rights of Warner Bros. and, in limited circumstances, approval rights of certain third parties, all animated, cartoon and comic book characters that Warner Bros. and DC Comics have the right to license, including Batman, Superman, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird and Yosemite Sam, and include the right to sell merchandise using the characters. In addition, certain 9 Hanna-Barbera characters including Yogi Bear, Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones are available for our use at certain of our theme parks." On a separate note, the Roald Dahl holds the licensing rights to that IP. Alton Towers closed their ride in 2015 when the Roald Dahl Foundation wouldn't renew the license.
  7. Nah, I went after 8 last year a couple of times.
  8. Yeah, that area is just weird. So bizarre. They really need someone to take a comprehensive look at the theming through out the park and come up with a master plan.
  9. Actually, it doesn't. DC markets their rides off of the cartoon lineup and not their movies. We'd likely see a Supergirl or Flash themed ride before Shazam. And the park isn't going to cut off it's nose to spite it's face. They won't demolish that venue unless it's apparent there is absolutely no other choice on the off-chance they can actually provide some sort of show there on the cheap. They'll add a ride somewhere else before they trash that arena. As for Dead Man's Party, considering that they canned the choreographer who'd been running it for almost 20 years last year and this year's show is getting tepid reviews, I can actually see them going with a different show next season.
  10. Don't know. Why don't you go hit up the chat feature and ask one of the SF folks to give you a hand.
  11. Disney definitely blows everyone away in this aspect.
  12. Go to the Membership Portal - https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/manage-pass Hit Update Account link. Box for Rewards Program enrollment should be on the bottom of that page.
  13. Coney Island's Spook House Keansburg;s Spook House Knoebel's Haunted Mansion Knoebel's Black Diamond Great Adventure's Houdini's Great Escape (Not a fan of the shooter games, love traditional dark rides.)
  14. I kinda hope that Wicked Woods is delayed so they can keep the log flume open, but I think that's wishful thinking on my part.
  15. That's what signage at the park seems to be indicating.
  16. Yeah, no. Apocalypse is being converted to floorless. Bizarro isn't going anywhere. Why do people want to get rid of perfectly good rides? If they should 86 any coast it's the green and yellow crap pile over by Superman.
  17. You mean like when they had Whirlwind approximately where the Flying Turns is?
  18. It feels like they're starting Fright Fest earlier this year. For some reason, I thought there were two "bonus weekends" between end of daily ops and start of Fright Fest. Or I could just be misremembering.
  19. Hopefully a family flat so there's something else to do in that area that appeals to a larger audience.
  20. No, they *licensed out the right to rent lockers to a third party vendor*. SF already got paid. They get paid whether you use their locker or not. As for the rest of your rant ... it's a publicly listed company. Their job is to make money for their shareholders first and foremost, make you happy second. And I'm not sure how you're equating a locker policy with over regulation with the amusement industry has no Federal oversight and even in NJ - which has some of the toughest laws for the industry - there are no loose article laws stating that articles must be placed in a locker, merely that patrons must follow the safety directives of the park. Do you know what's even worse customer service than making sure you lose neither lose your $700+ phone or the keys to your ride home? Having someone's nose or eye socket broken on one of your rides.
  21. Keys hurt when they fly out of your pocket and hit people. It's not about making money - a third party licenses the right to operate lockers there so SF already got paid. It's about SF lowering their litigation risks and insurance premiums. If people don't bring keys or cell phones onto rides, they can't fly out of hands/pockets and fewer people will injured.
  22. Purple cups are dining pass cups, you don't need to show your pass.
  23. Okay, what's with the love for Panda Express? I've ate there. It's terrible. It's as terrible that vast majority of food in the park.
  24. Same. I think that will make or break this ride concept.
