  1. Same with Temple, right off campus is a horrible area. Besides that Temple is horrible. I had so many problems there if I listed them all I'd be typing for the next few hours. Crazy stuff like them not accepting credits from other schools when they said they would despite the courses being almost identical, professors saying a 90% is a C+ because he wanted to motivate us to work harder (yes I complained and they didn't care until the end of the semester where he added 20 - 30 points on to everyone's grade because almost entire class was failing) Or professors that can't teach literally, I mean they don't know the subject at all and when I complained I was told basically they know he is horrible but can't fire him because of tenure so he only teaches the intro course. Yeah that made sense, I never learned the basics so struggled in all the courses after that. Or the professor that enjoyed seeing people fail and said in her class, a D is good. Everytime they send some mailer out asking for alumni donations I trash it. I have no school spirit for that horrible place.
  2. In general I hate how so many people are so focused on celebrities. Who really cares what kind of dress someone wore to an awards show or where they shop. The only problem is that because so many people are interested in that kind of stuff if I hear a name brought up, I usually have no idea who it is.
  3. If they do open it without a sponsor I hope they keep it in better condition then Wonders of Life. I was in Wonders of Life in December 06, one of the last few weeks it as open and it was not like Disney at all. Exhibits were gutted like some old interactive area that was just an open corner, the exercise bikes with screens were covered with tarps, the show areas sat empty. The queue for Body Wars had dirt all over the ceilings and the building was eeirly empty. There was no one in the line for Body Wars except for 4 other people waiting to board, they didn't even show the pre-show film. I still wish they would have knocked it down and built Mission Space on the Wonders of Life site and kept Horizons open. That is probably my most missed ride in all of WDW.
  4. That is really bad that the park does that, combiend with the generic ride ads that are shown on TV that show a splashdown boat makes it look like MTWE is still at the park. I'm sure people have shown up to the park looking for that ride only to not find it.
  5. Another removed ride I never rode. I think I only saw it operating at the park once when it was open (back then I didn't have a SP and only went once a season usually), and they had the no single rider rule and no one else I was with wanted to ride it so I never did. Anyone know why they had that no single rider rule?
  6. Same for me possibly, if I can't go on opening day or the Sunday after that, I was considering going one of the first weekdays the park is open but I figured that might be a mistake since it is right before Easter. So now I am thinking it might be better to go the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday after Easter since I read the Jewish group that always goes to the park on Easter is also going to be there the day after Easter. I made the mistake of going the same day they were there last year and it was way too crowded (it was a normal operating day, not a buyout)

    Pendulum

I never even knew the ride existed before reading about it on this site and I rode the bumper cars in 2002 and still didn't see it so I definetly agree about it being hidden. Not that I would have ridden it anyway because I'm sure it would make me sick but it looked like it was cool to watch.
  8. I remember last year on the 2nd Saturday the park was open it was unseasonably warm, I think it was around 80 which was nice except it rained a little bit but then it was sunny out and they still had the coasters closed, something about lightning a mile away from the park. I was in Nitro's station when it closed down for around 15 minutes and people were not happy because people saw it as the ride being closed with nice weather. I heard comments like, "now that they have our money they don't care about the rides being open"
  9. Yeah Tango is fun, I usually ride it a few times a season since it never has a line and is a good ride to relax on since it is kind of tame.
  10. I can't believe Fly Me To The Moon is back again. I rode it once last season and that was enough, I'll probably skip it this season all together unless I happen to see it is a walk on.
  11. I went Saturday of that weekend as well. At rope drop, less than 10 people ran to KK. It was so empty that they had to wait for riders before they could load the train since even with only 2 trains running, the trains wouldn't have been close to being full. It was great having no waits at all that day. Overall last season I had minimal waits. I tried to pick days I thought wouldn't be bad. The least crowded days were that day I just mentioned, Saturday April 26th, Coasters After Dark, weekdays in May and early June (usually Monday and Wednesday is when I went), Sunday June 8th, Sunday September 7th, Family Fall Fun Night (least crowded park visit ever), Friday October 10th and 24th and closing day November 2nd. Moderate crowds were on July 15th (Tuesday), waits got to 20+ minutes in the afternoon The 2 crowded days were Wednesday April 23rd, Spring Break week and Satuday September 20th (which was a BAFF day). I'm planning on doing what I did last season, going to the park a lot in April, May and early June and maybe once or twice over summer break and then in September and Friday night Frightfest days, and going to Dorney during the week over the summer break and on Sundays for Haunt (reading past TR's, Frightfest is too crowded on Saturdays and Sundays)
  12. I don't like the new additions but seeing them looking like the other dolls don't make it as bad as I thought it would be. Stitch should not be there though. I guess I would have to ride it to see for myself though since most people had positive things to say about the POTC and I hated what they did to the ride. Jack Sparrow looked way too realistic compared to the "cartoon" looking pirates in the ride and didn't like how they changed part of the dialogue to talk about him in the ride. In general I don't like that it seems like everything has to tie into a movie in the parks though. Fantasyland is one thing but Tomorrowland is quickly becoming Pixar Land and if the rumored Cars taking over the Speedway is true that will just make it worse.
  13. So sad to see the Laser spot like that, it doesn't even look like it is Dorney with those pictures of just the wooden blocks and snow (without the queue line showing)
  14. It's probably May, Physics Days have always been held in May in past years
  15. Yeah I'm sure it wasn't as bad at opening on that day I went last year during Spring Break. I figured there was no reason to get up early since I was expecting it to be empty like it was in 2007. If I do go during that week, I am getting there at opening.
  16. Isn't that Spring Break though? I am expecting it could be crowded. In 2007 during the week it was open (I went April 11th), it was empty, walk ons for everything except SUF due to 1 train running. I went last year (April 23rd) and it was jammed. 40 minutes to get into the lot around 12:00 and it started with 20 minute waits for BTR, Nitro and GASM and 25 minutes for Medusa. By 4:00, Nitro was into the switchbacks, Batman was into the garden area and RMT's line was out of the fort (no switchbacks used). I am hoping it will be like 2007.
  17. He means the Huss ride that is going into Bobbejonland (I'm sure I spelled that wrong), that isn't officially King Kong or rather a large gorilla (I think)
  18. Yes, very annoying especially since Wildwater Kingdom now is open past Labor Day but only for those buy out guests. Those days in September were great since the park was empty but now they are all taken away. It's their loss though, I went to Great Adventure instead on 2 of those Dorney buy out days and had an awesome time (5 minute wait for KK on one of the days in the middle of the afternoon!). Also because Great Adventure has such a longer operating schedule (not only opening a month earlier but they go to daily operations sooner too), I went to Great Adventure 17 times in 2008 versus only 13 for Dorney.
  19. I'd go for a few hours and mainly stick to Skull Mountain and TDK but I would probably go on Nitro and maybe another outdoor coaster or 2 a few times. I have been on coasters in the 40's and some like Steel Force and Nitro are just too cold to marathon in that kind of weather let alone below freezing. No way I would ride KK though. Someone in this area really needs to create an indoor amusement park like Nick Universe or even the small indoor park at Mt. Olympus. I don't understand why there are so few indoor parks in the US (not counting small Family Entertainment Centers like the one near me with a Frog Hopper, kiddie train and kiddie tea cups).
  20. I thought it looked neat but didn't try it because it was way too expensive. It was originally $7.00 for 9 holes which is crazy for mini golf. Even $5.00 for 9 holes seemed like a lot. In Ocean City, I tried a black light mini golf at the end of the summer which was 18 holes for $4.00. If they had charged $3.00 at Great Adventure, I'm sure it would have been a big hit.
  21. I hope they can get it running. I never had a chance to ride it at Wildwood (first visit was in 2005) and it looked like a cool ride based on the POV I saw of it.
  22. I like the part about rewards for riding more. Since I usually average 15 - 20 rides or so a trip, I probably go on more rides than the average visitor. The only problem I see with it is either re-rides not being allowed anymore or not having re-rides if you want to get proper credit for all your rides. I guess riding Nitro 6 times in a row without leaving the train or Superman 5 times in a row would only count as 1 ride each. I wish there would have been a chance to explain why you selected the answers you chose. When it asked about rides for everyone or a balance of rides (I took it last night and forgot the exact wording), I chose strongly disagree and would have liked to have said, that I feel there is a huge lack of family rides. Same thing with the survey they asked me to take on Family Fall Fun Night last year. They asked if I think they should focus on kiddie rides or thrill rides. Nothing for family rides.
  23. It will also be good for real time reports of park crowd levels for those still deciding if they are going to head to the park that day.
  24. If it does end up at one of those parks, I guess I am going to be buying a lot of tickets during their Easter sales this year. I bought 3 books of tickets already for both parks but I know at Gillian's it would be at least a 5 ticket ride (nothing is currently above 5 tickets but I could see them charging 6 for this), and a 6 or 7 ticket ride at Playland (I think 6 is the highest amount currently). The holiday sale is typically 33 cents a ticket for Gillian's, 50 cents for Playland. That is what it was last month plus shipping, and I'd pay up to $3.00 a ride figuring it is a good ride since I have always wanted to try an Invertigo and have heard good things about them compared to the regular Boomerang.
  25. As much as I would love to see Two Face at Gillian's or Playland, I agree it doesn't seem likely either of them bought it. Playland has no room for it and I don't think Gillian's does either.
