gafreak
Just heard some disturbing news, El Toro has suffered a major malfunction and is threatening being closed for the remainder of the season, can anyone confirm this???
Yoshi
Hopefully it's not closed the rest of the year. With Fright Fest in less than a month, lines will be bad enough, add one of the most popular coasters closed and it will probably really effect the other ride lines. The Master
I sure hope that isn't the case.
SFGadv123
I would definitely hope not, any other news you have found out?
Railer
Word is the lift motor is fried. It was sent to Maryland to be re-built. If it can't be re-built, and they need a new one, its done for the year.
29yrswithaGApass
This is true. It has also been confirmed on the ACE NJ site.

owtoty
Omg! This was the only ride I never got to this season and I'm going today and I can't ride it now. Ugh and I was going to go on Monday bu I didn't.
FlumeOp1974
Doesnt El Toro use the same trains as Texas Giant?
RideOfSteel
^ Nope. El Toro uses Intamin trains, Texas Giant uses Gerstlauer trains.
29yrswithaGApass
As per the Six Flags Great Adventure website: El Toro is currently closed for maintenance. We are working diligently to reopen it as soon as possible.
SFGadv123
That's a good sign, at least it actually says that they are trying to fix it.
pashacar
It was also mentioned in the Fright Fest press release, which is a good sign about their expectations.
SFGadv123
I went to the park yesterday, and while in line for Rolling Thunder I noticed how quiet that area is without El Toro. Hopefully they get it up soon. They had a person standing there to tell people it was closed for the day, I saw people talking to her and she said she didn't have a clue why it was closed. Everyone here is more educated than she is.
Yoshi
Maybe the employee was instructed not to say anything?
acq10uaz
Yeah employees are told not to say anything regarding why rides are down other than it's closed and they don't know when it will open.
SFGadv123
Ok that makes sense. Anyway, here is a picture from screamscape of El Toro without the motor.
robertleax
With RT closing on the 8th and ET being closed right now, would there be any reason for that entire section to be open? Well except for Tango...???
Cholito20
They could always add lots of zombies back there lol.
SFGadv123
They will probably keep it open so people can use the path to get to Bizarro, at least that's what I do. I go to El Toro/RT and then take the path and go on Bizarro.

SFGadv123
Hopefully it is up before rolling thunder closes, or else that area of the park will be a ghost town.
