29yrswithaGApass
Fright Fest will run weekends from September 19 to November 1 this year including Fridays in October and Columbus Day (October 12).
gencx
Wish they'd bring back Friday nights in September like in 2013. My friends and I went two weeks in a row and basically had the park to ourselves.
DANofNJ
well you just answered your own question. the park was dead and got killed in operating costs. they made no money those Fri nights
Yoshi
It's good to see another closing day in November. I agree about the Friday nights in September, they were great for those that showed up but not so good for the park. I'm hoping this year they have a passholder preview maybe on the September 18th

jdc12192
^I think its because most people don't associate fright fest until October and most people probably don't know it starts in Sept.
JerseyGirl3181
Last year I went once at the end of September and it was nice.. Wasn't too too crowded. Went again at the end of October and it wasn't that bad. Hopefully for this years fright fest, i'll get there more often..including Halloween. Yoshi
I wonder if Halloween next year will be the busiest day of the season since it's on a Saturday and the final Saturday of the season.
joeyc98
I went on Halloween this past Fright Fest. Besides a few young adults and teens, it was mostly dead due to families staying at home trick or treating i would assume. so i wonder if Halloween on a saturday would change anything. Yoshi
I was there too and was expecting it to be way more crowded than it was. It was a nice surprise to finish the season with a trip with such short lines.
ReptileGuy
Last season (2014) I went to fright fest once. It was so packed the park reached maximum occupancy and there were helicopters overhead monitoring. It was probably the busiest I've ever seen the park.I waited about 6 hours for Nitro that night... fetish911
You did not wait for nitro for 6 hrs.... Stop it.
The Master
I waited 3 hours for X at SFMM once, 6 hours seems like pushing it. IMHO, no ride is worth a 6 hour wait.
ReptileGuy
Im serious. The line entrance was way past nitros normal entrance that night. Maybe it was less that 6 hours but i know it was at-least 4. Anyway... i will NEVER do that again no matter what ride it is.
The Master
I can believe 4 hours, heck 3 hours can feel like 6, you kind of go numb after waiting for awhile.
Railer
Pete Carter "Ghoulmaster" just announced that 2014 was the last year of "Ghoulmasters Ghosts". His new show start's in Cali in Oct. I am still hoping during the early weekends of Fright Fest he will do some show's to "crown the successor to the throne". We need a NEW character to replace him, and i hope "Dr. Fright" is not just "bumped-up" to head Ghoul. Auditions are coming up soon, a big spot has opened up. https://youtu.be/T5BQmOIBPHc
jdc12192
He will not be doing any shows unfortunately. His focus is on his own show.

Personally, I liked it bettter than Ghoulmasters Ghosts. Click below to see the show. Its a big file so give it a moment to upload.
Railer
I never was a big "Ghoulmaster" follower like alot of his fans are. GMG was a good show, and he is a talented person. But I've always liked darker, "Tim Burton(ish)" themes. And that was about the extent of it for me, but i liked that he did have a huge following for the Park's benefit. I just think it will feel more of a loss if they just go with "Dr. Fright". They have a chance to come up with a new, and even better character now. Expand on all they have done with Pete, and come up with something just as good. Auditions are coming up soon, see if any specific roles come up. Matt Kaiser
The park didn't come up with Ghoulmaster, he evolved into that role himself. That's why the park can't easily replace him with another character.
Mrpq
the past few times I have been to FF I get there when the park opens. it always seemed to be pretty empty up till the evening hours come around. I was always able to ride all the rides 2/3 times. Once the sun goes down that's a different story
Andrew M
Its not necessarily as hard as it may seem. I love halloween. I'm always visiting local hayrides/walks and I've noticed a lot of places have recently added shows/entertainment that are similar to DMP or GG. Great Aventure, being in between Philadelphia and NYC is in a prime area for the arts so finding some other form of entertainment for just the Halloween season shouldn't be too difficult IF they really tried to look. RunawayArrow
After hearing that showcase is getting a magician in august make me think he's Goulmasters replacement
YoungPup
I posted about this on the 2016 speculation, but I now realize that it was probably the wrong place..heheh..Anyway do you guys think GA will still charge extra for the Attractions this year? I don't see anything talking about extra charges on the FF page, and there's also no "Free Attraction" coupon...
RunawayArrow
They probably will with the crowds they get I thought it was chain wide , but I hope they change it !
