GAcoaster
We would really like to see a permanent museum of the park's history.

Pineracer
I doubt many parks do that, so why should a corporate?
Mr.Six
GA still has most of the stuff from the museum so it's possible.
Matt Kaiser
I doubt many parks do that, so why should a corporate? Parks I can think of: Cedar Point and Knoebels Anyone know of any other parks with history museums (about the park)?
29yrswithaGApass
While not museums, Disneyland and WDW (Hollywood Studios) also have historic exhibits in the parks. Moreys also has items on display.
Viper26
Six Flags Magic Mountain used to have one at the top of their observation deck.
Yoshi
A permanent museum would be interesting. From seeing the pictures of the past 2 times there was a museum, it looked like there were cool items and displays.
Chiller
Knotts Berry Farm has one too. They even have a separate museum for their Haunt with old advertisements and decorations.
truepolak90
You guys did an excellent job with the museum, Would they have to have an employee to monitor? The old Franklin gift shop between the fountain and Old Country is still vacant right? It would be perfect there. You guys totally deserve a permanent musuem. Mr.Six
In my recent visit to Casino Pier I noticed they had a history museum dating back to the 20s. They even have part of the Jet star (AKA The roller coaster that fell in the water) in there. It was pretty cool.
dougdrummer
Hersheypark has the ride outside the park that documents Hershey the man and the history of chocolate and the development of the park and area. I went past the one GA empty tent building and wondered why not have a permanent display?
joeyc98
For Fright Fest, they use that building for the Clown maze. However, it would be interesting if an old Old Country building could be re purposed for a museum.
dougdrummer
For Fright Fest, they use that building for the Clown maze. However, it would be interesting if an old Old Country building could be re purposed for a museum. It would be real cool if they could turn the "museum" into a ride, but I know they would never invest that kind of money into something like that. The Hershey Chocolate World ride is a destination in itself, especially when the park is off season. They subsequently added a 4D show, restaurants, shops and a huge candy store. Lots of major money makers there.... Edited May 10, 2017 by dougdrummer
29yrswithaGApass
I think it is safe to say a museum ride is never going to happen! However, the park does have a 45th anniversary coming up soon! Just sayin'!
dougdrummer
Suffice it to say that the "museum" would have to be inside to be able to show old videos on monitors? It would be a great place to cool off in the summer, or dry off in inclement weather. Certainly could combine it with a shop that sells memorabilia, which I think would be a good money-maker. FlumeOp1974
Agree! the park needs to have one. With so much of our past getting lost. From costumes. to cheracters. shows. all of it! Valid it.. For all.
Mr.Six
I've noticed a lot of redesigned classic shirts and items around the park. Defiantly a step up from "Six Flags" this and "Six Flags" that.
dougdrummer
Here's a video of the "enhanced" Hershey Chocolate World tour ride. It's a little disappointing because 90% of is the same as what I remember. They added some optics and character graphics, but it's not what I thought it would be. It needed a lot more updating that that. Edited May 14, 2017 by dougdrummer
Matt Kaiser
No! They took out the Hershey's Milk Chocolate song and now it's horrible!
dougdrummer
How about add museum-type display stations along the path by the lakeside, creating a walking tour of sorts? Kind of like the displays they have on some nature trails that explain the fauna and flora, except these displays could house artifacts from the park's past in weather-tight glass-enclosed cabinets? It shouldn't cost a ton of money to create this, and it would give people something else to do between rides and attractions. The lakeside area right now is a total waste of space.
