gasmspiritblue
Why is the little shed for the lift motors still there?
29yrswithaGApass
^ Both the lift motors shed and the train storage building were left standing. We updated the icon on our Roller Coasters menu page. 1979-2013 At some point we will have to update the final chapter in the Rolling Thunder Spotlight. RC98
Wow, that pic is sad to see, with RT being ripped apart like that. Hopefully some day a good new coaster or a set of family rides/coasters will use that now big open space...
gasmspiritblue
That is a very depressing picture to see, i can't wait to see the updated page Harry! Edited January 23, 2014 by gasmspiritblue

fetish911
Brets video was great...brought a tear to my eye. I don't think it will register for me that RT is really gone til opening day and I see a gaping hole where she was.
gafreak
Trains no longer on GA property- found in south Jersey.
FlumeOp1974
Dang! Just caught up with this. And remember riding it the first season with only buzzbars. And the fifth car on the train. It was faster and a lot rougher...Because of the added weight of the fifth car and passangers. Belive it or not they actually had clappers under the cars...that vibrated the floor boards. And created a wonderful sound that faded as the trains went thru the course. and the grew again on its return.....
hollyferry
So so sad about this. We went once right before the end of last season (to get our passes processed for the discounted rate), and since we weren't there all day (plus having my 3 little ones with us) I didn't get to ride RT. I had no idea it was being demolished. I spent many many hours on this ride over many many summers. Really going to miss it!! Any idea why if it is demolished that GA still has it listed on their ride page?https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/attractions/rolling-thunder
acq10uaz
There seems to be a bug. A lot of removed ride pages are reappearing.
RC98
The Bugs Bunny Fun Factory page also appears and apparently we have a ride called Ricochet? We've never even had that before.
jdc12192
There seems to be a bug. A lot of removed ride pages are reappearing. Things seem fine to me. They're prop appearing because people are commenting on them.
Coaster Justin
The Bugs Bunny Fun Factory page also appears and apparently we have a ride called Ricochet? We've never even had that before. I think that was a planned name for Medusa
29yrswithaGApass
Just added - a new set of on-ride photos of Rolling Thunder!
gasmspiritblue
Nice pics before the repaint! Its sad the ride started to look like that again before it closed, it's too bad that paint fades so quickly.
fetish911
The left side was always my fav
ericthewanderer
The left side was always my fav I preferred the left side also. The right side was good, but to me the right side's turnaround seemed a little too jarring for me.
Yoshi
I also liked the left side better. It seemed smoother to me.
29yrswithaGApass
Same here. I never cared for the far turnaround on the right side. The higher left one always gave you more time to look around and apprecaite the look of the ride.
29yrswithaGApass
I found this horribly primitive mock up I did about ten years ago of Rolling Thunder's original sign. Anyone remember how cool this sign was at night? Click below:
FlumeOp1974
Sure do! it used to be Dark at night then youd hear the speakers under the roof over give a clap of lightning and the bolt would light up top to bottom then the sound of thunder as the it rolled from left to right lighting the letters. And then it would all flash a few times. Hold. Then go black again. Kinda cool! Also to the cars had clackers under them so it to sounded like thunder as it trains ran the course.
