Yoshi
Actually 5 months... after this weekend we have to go 160 days without Great Adventure. Hopefully, I am still concerned that they are going to make opening day later next year after they cut the November hours this year and if they look at the low attendance from opening weekend this year (though the cold weather is probably to blame for that) and that Easter is very late next year on April 24th. 29yrswithaGApass
I'll be posting all my 2010 pics in the coming weeks to my album, over 600 pics from this season. Gonna shoot a bunch this weekend with all the trees changing colors! Can't wait to see them!

I asked on Friday... tentatively opening day is scheduled for April 9th.
Yoshi
That's not too bad I guess, I figured March would be unrealistic. Hopefully it does at that day and they don't push back the opening day.
gafreak
what a great last operating day, the last show of Dead Mans Party was great too, got some final rides in yesterday, all in all a great season of memories at our park, looking forward to next season! gafreak
so ive been wondering, over the years what sponsers have had there logo or banner up on the water tower, and has it always been white? i know gieco had it for a while but was gone this season, has it ever had the great adventure logo on it? pashacar
The WB-era blue logo was up there for years, before Geico overtook it. Kind of a funny sign of the times that thing serves as.
The Master
Did anyone notice that the new parachutes for this year were already rotted and ripped up.
29yrswithaGApass
Only 50 days until Christmas! That means there are only 25 days until our 2010 Great ADVENTure Calendar!
Yoshi
The park just updated the events page The Boy Scout Weekend at the park next year is also opening weekend. So much for the normal low crowds since I went on the Saturday of the Boy Scout Weekend this past season and it was very crowded for April. Nothing about Coasters After Dark either, I hope it's just because they haven't decided on a specific day yet but I figured the season pass nights would be cut especially after the season pass night fiasco at SFNE a few weeks ago where they at the last minute decided to just open up 3 rides for 2 hours instead of most of the park. thechiller15
Did anyone notice that the new parachutes for this year were already rotted and ripped up. They are replaced every year.
gafreak
Did anyone see that the Boy Scout event is 4/8? Soes that mean they're going to open that Friday?
BuddyChrist
Just thought about this, but what coaster (if any) might be repainted in the offseason? My preference would be Nitro, but it may be Superman because of its highly visible location and proximity to the new attraction.
29yrswithaGApass
Did anyone see that the Boy Scout event is 4/8? Soes that mean they're going to open that Friday? If I recall, the park opens early for Discover Card members so it is possible that the day before the season opener may be a Discover Card and Season Passholder event. Yoshi
I didn't know about that, I hope they end up doing a preview night and keep it like Family Fall Fun Night making Discover Card holders who don't have a pass pay to get in for a reduced admission rate otherwise if it was for free for them it would be packed. gafreak
can anyone guess what the six flags represent? Edited November 23, 2010 by gafreak
GAcoaster
It depends...do you mean the original six flags of Six Flags, one of the other parks or the most recent incarnation of the six flags from the 1980's?
gafreak
actually i was talking more about what the 6 flags in the logo and name represent,it has a meaning i just learned today, so i wwas seeing if anyone else knew.lol
warnerleroy
The first six flags was in texas and the six flags represent the six countries(flags) that ruled over texas-France, Birtan, Spain, US, Texas, and Mexico
coastercrazy
Green Lantern's loop will be taller than SUF's lift! This is the end of long lines for Superman, Green Lantern will steel away all the crowds.
GAcoaster
No, SUF will still draw crowds. It's still something unique and a favorite of many guests.
Yoshi
I agree, Superman is still a coaster experience that can't be found anywhere in the area. I know there is Batwing at SFA but that is still a few hours away. Right now it seems to have the 3rd longest line in the park, and I think after Green Lantern is at the park for a few years it will still have the 3rd longest line unless something else major is added after Green Lantern. acq10uaz
If anything, its drawing more people to ride it. Like Yoshi said, its unique for the area. GL will also be unique. People on Facebook are saying, "You stand up? Whattttt?"
warnerleroy
I agree, Superman is still a coaster experience that can't be found anywhere in the area. Coney Island is getting Elitch gardens Flying Coaster wich is a Zamperla Volare, but it's a TERRIBLE ride with EXCRUTIATING pain
The Master
I think Superman will have longer lines since it will be next to the new coaster.
