Hey everyone, I'm Brock. I've been into rollercoasters ever since I was about 5 (I'm 14), and when I became into computers; I also got into the history of many parks. I love great adventure, and ive been going there ever since I can remember. I'm also a photographer, I like photographing things that are rare and off the beaten path. I'm really curious about what's inside the station of the chiller right now. Its been like a little goal of mine ever since it closed down. I only rode it once and I barely got on because I didnt reach the height requirement haha. I think great adventure truly is one of the coolest parks and can only be topped by Disney.

Hi everybody!

My name is Lauren, and I'm 15 years old. My Hobbies are riding roller coasters, drawing, and dancing. I love Great Adventure History, and I have been reading it since last year. My favorite superhero is The Flash. I never go to the park without my Flash T-shirt. (I call it my "Great Adventure Shirt"). I listen to music from all decades, Land of 1000 Dances and Boogie Wonderland to just name a few. My parents brought me to Great Adventure when I was a baby, but the earliest trip I remember was back in 2006. After a trip in 2007, I haven't gone again after that up until last year, when we started going regularly. This is my first year coming to Great Adventure with a premium season pass! Things that annoy me are dumb blonde jokes, (because I'm blonde) and when people wear glasses just for looks. (I actually need them!) Thank you to the creators of this website, I love it! And I can't wait for the future updates to come! (Sorry that this is so long!) :Wizard:

Hello there everyone! My name is Keith, and I am currently employed at Six Flags Great Adventure in the Safety Department. My official job title is "Seasonal EMT." I enjoy working at the park and helping everyone with their medical needs! We do more than just first aid though in the park. If you're curious as to what else we do, don't hesitate to ask!

So, about myself. I am 25 years old, born and raised on the Jersey Shore. Drug free, drink socially, and I've been told I am a pleasure to be around. I am shy at first, but open up and make new friends really quick. I am the sole propieter of a Mobile DJ Entertainment Serviced called Elegance Entertainment. I also am a music producer, I make club music (mainly house, techno, dubstep, and a few other genres of music.) I do all my music making in my spare time, I hope to one day be famous for it, but hey, we can all dream haha. Not only do I do EMS at SFGA, I also am a volunteer EMT for Point Pleasant Boro. I currently hold a line officer position there, its fun!

Anywho, enough about me haha, glad to be here! I have access to 99% of the park so if there is ever a picture of something you want to see, hit me up! As long as I can legally access the area, I will be more than happy to take pictures for you. Also, if you see me driving my golfcart around the Theme Park or Hurricane Harbor, feel free to stop me and say hey!

Hello GAH, my name is Ron. I've been going to SFGA for my entire 25 years of life. I haven't been there in 5 or 6 years, but I was a regular from about 14-18 when I had to leave for college. I'm mostly here to seek some advice on getting a frightfest weekend job.

Welcome Ron!! Feel free to PM me! I'll be going on my third fright fest job this season so I can help you out!

Hi, I just joined the site, although I have been looking at all the spotlights for years; I appreciate the work you put into them. I am also on YouTube under the username "RollerCoasterRider98" and I am on Great Adventure Online under the same username I use here.

Hi, I'm GalaxyTrooper, and a major fan of this site and Great Adventure in general! While I must admit I have never visited the park, my fascination with it is as large as my local park, Beech Bend, which myself I have been growing a collection of memorabilia and discovering new facts and historical figures about. I do plan to finally visit this summer, not due to the rides or seeing the park in general (I do want to see it though, no doubt about that, heh.), but to get as many rides as I can on Parachuter's Perch, a ride that is one of only two left in the world, and may not have much time due to the addition of Zumanjaro, not to mention its age and Six Flags not choosing to use Texas Chute Out as spare parts for it.

For a short time, I actually had played Minecraft and built an entire little amusement park (most of it being non-functional) with many ride types taken from Great Adventure. This is where my avatar and name originates from, as I had built a parachute tower and decide to name it Galaxy Trooper, due to its tall presence in the game seeming as if it reached into the night skies. It was quite difficult to create, as I literally had to do what most manufacturers have done with prototype rides with building it first in a different location for accuracy and scale purposes, then building it in the area it was to be placed. While I may not play the game anymore, the time building the park gave me a dream that I eventually can help design landscape plans for where ride will be placed and how they will change their surroundings in the amusement industry.

Anyways, that's enough with my babbling, I hope to enjoy chatting with all of you and discussing Great Adventure, probably even more so once I visit it this year!

Having been a member here since 2008, I can't believe that I have never actually introduced myself or explained my near and dear attachment to Great Adventure. I did do a good job of completing my member profile, so I'll finally include that profile here along with my nearly seven year late introduction...

Born and raised in Hazlet, NJ, I visited Great Adventure for the first time in August of 1977. My best friend and next door neighbor was lucky enough to have visited on opening day in 1974 and it took three years of pestering to finally get my parents to take me. Although I had already visited Walt Disney World and Busch Gardens Tampa several times before my first visit to Great Adventure, there was something very "magical" about Great Adventure that still rings true to me today. After that first visit, I became a Great Adventure information geek, collecting everything I could find written or printed about the park. Having no idea exactly who Warner LeRoy was at the time, seeing the words "created and designed by Warner LeRoy" on almost every printed piece about the park raised my curiosity, and so began my drive to find out as much as I could about him and his creating Great Adventure. Warner LeRoy's sense of flamboyance and spectacle (in everything he did) was truly impressive (if flamboyance could ever be considered impressive)! For some reason, at the age of 12, I thought of Warner LeRoy as even more impressive than Walt Disney. In 1978 I wrote to Warner LeRoy to ask about his thinking behind the creation of Great Adventure. At the time, he was somewhat reluctant to talk in great detail about the park. In hindsight, at the time he was involved in several different legal matters that were related to Great Adventure in one way or another (the Switlik battle had yet to be concluded and he had a real falling out with Hardwicke Companies' founder Charles Stein, resulting in litigation involving Maxwell's Plum as well as a Hotel/Casino that LeRoy and Hardwicke were teaming up to build in Atlantic City). Nonetheless, even though he was no longer outwardly involved with the park's operations, he spoke of the park with real affection and there was a glowing sense that Great Adventure was something he was very proud to have developed.

I first worked at Great Adventure during the summer of 1979 as a "Volunteer Organization Worker," the organization being the Raritan High School Rocket Marching Band. As a volunteer, I worked the Dream Street Cables, Runaway Train, Wild Rider (Big Fury's replacement), and several days at the front gate taking tickets. My first real employment at the park began in 1981 in Food Service, starting out at Great American Hamburger and landing the remainder of the season at Big Wheel Burger. I returned in 1982 to the Big Wheel Burger as an assistant manager. I briefly was the assistant manager at Mustard's Last Stand before leaving the park at the end of the 1982 season. I returned to work for the park in 1985, starting out on the graveyard shift in Cash Control and, after thirty days of night work, barged into the Assistant Manager of Promotions Office (Bernadette Kopacz) and asked if she would hire me in marketing research. I stayed in marketing research for the remainder of the 1985 season and transferred to SFMM marketing research when I returned to college that year.

I now live in Long Beach, California but keep my eyes and ears on everything Great Adventure!

Hey everyone. I posted here already once or twice and lurk all the time but figured I'd pass some time on this slow work day and properly introduce myself.

My name is Joey, born and raised in Philly. As a young kid I spent most summers, all summer in Wildwood, so naturally I was a kid obsessed with amusement rides, mostly coasters. I did make it to SFGAdv a few times with my folks in the 80s and 90s, but until last year the most recent time Id been at the park was when GASM, Rolling Thunder and Shockwave were the big coasters. I specifically recall riding Shockwave and Rolling Thunder with my mother. Anyway, as I grew up and life happened I lost this interest to other things, but last summer while poking around YouTube I randomly came across the "Megastructures" NatGeo show about Kingda Ka and by the end of the episode was convinced I had to give it a try. Its just too close and crazy not to!

I researched the park a bit more and realized how much had changed since the last itme I was there and how many world class machines the park now has (Nitro, El Toro, Superman, etc etc). So I called up one of my best friends who is always reliably down for anything, and we took a day trip up to the park one Saturday last September, rode almost everything, and then the off season happened. WIth it being the age of the internet a whole new world opened up for me - I discovered RCDB, ordering TPR DVD's, etc and took to virtually riding every and any YouTube'd coaster I could. Getting familiar with manufactueres, all the different parks, coaster stats, etc. Full on nerd mode. Ive also dug really deep into the archives on this site. Amazing all the changes the park has gone through! You guys have put together an amazing archive!

For 2014 I went ahead and got myself a Season Pass. And I'm happy I did! Since I live and work a in center city Philly, I don't drive or have a drivers license (which makes getting to Theme Parks a BITCH since they are all in the middle of nowhere), but with my pass giving me free access (and parking) I've managed to take advantage of all the bring-a-friend specials so far in an effort to convince friends and family to take a drive up with me, and Ive had quite a few awesome days at the park this season. Coasters After Dark was incredible! Almost eerily felt like my buddy and I had the park to ourselves - 5 re-rides in a row on Nitro in the dark, etc. A great, great night. We also got up for Opening Day which was really awesome in terms of weather and not-too-long lines. (Side note: I'm always down to go to the park so if anyone reading is in Philly, has wheels, and needs a riding partner, holler at me!!!) One day this summer I plan to take the bus up to the park and just enjoy it all by myself for one day. Kinda feel weird about it, but also think it would be nice to just do what I want to do all day. :)

My favorite rides in the park are easily El Toro and Nitro, closely followed by Superman:UF, Batman, and Bizarro. I have yet to do Sky Screamer (I get nausea on spinny things but have little fear of heights so Ive been conflicted!), Kingda Ka is great but a one trick pony, Skull Mountain is amazing for such a small coaster, I hate the Dark Knight (and most WIld Mouse), and Green Lantern likes to punch me in the side of the head but I ride it anyway.

Anyways, you guys have a great site here, I hope to post more, just thought I'd formally say Hello! I'm also on TPR as I know some of you are there too!

Hi, all.

I've lurked these boards for quite a while and finally decided to join the ranks.

I'm Nick, born and raised on Staten Island, NY. I love amusement/theme parks, and I majored in history in college, so this site is the perfect cross section of my interests.

Really enjoy the site and the boards, and I'm looking forward to engaging in discussions about the park.

Hi everyone,

I've finally decided to join Great Adventure History because this is a neat and interesting site and it would be nice to meet others who have the same interest of amusement parks and roller coasters.

A little about myself, My name is Brian, I am known as "Bri-Man", that was a nickname given to me while I was at school. While in school, I was a communications major with a minor in public relations. I currently live in Newburgh, New York (60 miles north of NYC). I have a deep appreciation for amusement parks and roller coasters. I have been to several amusement parks throughout my life.

Because I love it so much, last year, I joined the nationally known American Coaster Enthusiasts and let me tell you, it was the best decision I have made. Believe it or not, I made my ACE debut last September at Riding of the Bull Cinco held at Great Adventure. I had the best of time of my life that day and broke many new records on my favorite coasters. Speaking of that, my favorite coasters at GA are Nitro, El Toro, and Kingda Ka. I am already looking forward to returning to Riding of the Bull on September 6, 2014. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Hey guys! I'm CanobieFan, and this site is surely my cup of tea. I love SFGAdv A LOT after visiting for a vacation this year. Unfortunate we went July 1, so KK was closed. :Spindevil:

My name probably tells a lot about me. Yes, Canobie is my favorite park. Yankee Cannonball is my favorite coaster (yes I like it better then El Toro).

SFNE was my favorite part, until they decided to remove Cyclone. :Yuck:

I'm personally sick of SFI parks demolishing wooden coasters. I love nostalgia and the history of parks.

I'm on SFNE Online, Canobiefan, New Whalom, SFA Fans, Here, TPR, Coasterforce.

Hello everyone! I joined a little bit over a week ago, but i just saw this forum now. My name is Nick Errico, I am 15 years old, and I have been going to Great Adventure since i was a little kid. I had a season pass for a few years when I was little, but then I stopped going so often and didn't get it for a couple years. In 2011 I started going more often again and that lead me to getting really into Great Adventure and other amusement parks. In the past four year I've currently gone to Six Flags 72 times (yes I keep count) and counting. All of the rumors of a new coaster in 2015 made me join lead me to join, even though were probably going to get something small in 2015.
